Roots have reached the res. Currently running 1/6 recommended nute strength, ph 6.0, res temp 70.2, tent environment 75 and rh 45. Upon next res change upping nutes to 1/4 strength.

Here is a birds eye shot of the young gals tonight. Now I by far am still a rookie but looking at these two pics the NL appears to be more sativa like with longer thinner leaves and the BM is more indica like with much shorter broader leaves. Just my observation of these two wonders of Mother Nature.

Now that both plants have a third set of leaves growing and both plants appear to be growing well the light has been dropped to 21". Manufacturer's recommendation during veg stage is 18 to 24 inches. This gives each plant three inches of growth before reaching the 18" level and the light goes up again. For the seedling stage the light was set at 30". A nine inch change is a significant distance with an led. A close eye will be kept out for "light burn" as well.

So far so good on the balance of environment and the hydro system stats all looking good. No drop in water level, ph has leveled at around 6, the ppm each res had on change has remained steady. The roots have just reached the res water level on each plant. Any nutrient or water uptake should occur from this point on. During the last res change we went from straight ph'd water to adding some nutrients. To a total of six gallons a tsp of each grow, micro and bloom was added along with a full dose of Hydroguard. This next change does not need to take place for a few more days but will include a dosage of 1.25tsp/6gal of each nute will be added. This next week will still be considered a "mild vegetative" growth. If all plants seem to do ok with this nute raise then the following week is due to go with "heavy vegetative" growth. The ratios change a bit to include more N and P than K. Grow babies grow for I shall feed you.

Mind if i take a seat.. best of luck with ur grow mate

Please join in on this virgin auto grow Diesel. Thank you for looking in. Trying to do my best with these lil darlings. Welcome!

Due to the fact that this is a first time grow of autos, minimal training will be done to either plant. In fact on my first grow with "bag seed", the plant that went au natural throughout the grow had a better yield than the plant that was topped and trained. So both of these plants will go as Mother Nature intended. The exception will be if either one tries to outgrow the height restriction. A good scenario for growth would be to obtain 9" to 10" in veg, then a max stretch to 30". Then grow old and fat like me.....lol

Reservoir nutrient water has been prepared for the ladies. This week's plan is to go with the heavy veg ratio recommended by GH of 3, 2, 1. The strength will be set to 25%. So for 6gal, 3tsp of micro, 4.5tsp grow and 1.5tsp of bloom will be used. This puts the total ppm @ 880. Keep in mind my tap water is some of the hardest in the world at 714ppm. So the added nute level to the water was only 166ppm. This is a good level for seedlings and sprouts. As long as they take this increase without puking yellow tips for the remainder of the grow the added nute ppm for the veg stage should not exceed 700ppm for a total including my crappy water of no more than 1414ppm. That level will require some covert moves. We'll sneak up on it a little at at time. Res temp is right on 72. Ph has been set at 5.5. Tent temp has a range of 68 to 78. A rh of 44 to 60 this week. The light is set for 18/6 (out from noon to six), 21" above the plants. The fans are set to give each lady a little wiggle every now and then. Grow those bones strong. Strong to hold those tight, fat colas......(day dreaming). And for the roots we have the normal 2ml/gal of Hydroguard. Speaking of roots, they are sprouting out of the net basket everywhere. Very cool under the hood. Grow on team!

Wow! 714ppm out of the tap! That's crazy. Good call being easy with it at first.
