Tricks for swelling buds? Is this true?

A cicada bit the top off an outside bud and yep the back of it got denser so I can vouch for that.

i snipped my girls last week and wow what a difference! i think i will be using the back building for every grow if there looking a little petite.
 
Supercropping,used for flower forcing etc,that's all we are doing with lollipopping,fimming,topping,back building,pruning,sog,scrog to nutrient manipulation and dif etc,all adapted(maybe apart from fim),if you want to see supercropping as an art check out k's grows for trichrome technology,medical for dispensaries I must add,a obviously dedicated pro,respect.TBSd
 
All and all I'm a little skeptical . I'll tell you my opinion : I wonder if the growth in that time frame would have produced the same growth.
I am a newbie so this is my opinion and in no way I'm not trying to prove the method wrong. Could be this flower needs more time . This Auto is now on day 81 from seed . I'm growing very impatient because in all that I've read this plant should have been ready to harvest . A whole other subject. Anyways enjoy the pics . Any suggestions welcomed and be nice . I'm getting two types of info : one grower claims this make the bud fatter . The other says it's for shaping ???
So which is it . I wouldn't have done this if is was for the shape . I WANT THE FATTER BUDS !

To my understanding, it works similarly to topping during veg. You redirect the energy of the plant. I think it depends on many variables whether it causes bulk or just reshaping..

Can i just say a thankyou for this post. I have 8 tops on my plant. I snipped top out of 4. Amazing difference ppl. Was checking today. The buds i clipped are fatter. Harder. Big time. Not a little notice. Huge. Ill post bud pics tomorrow so you can see difference.

Dizzy,back building does work but some plants take it not so well,autos are a stand off at the no no way does any auto stand up to cuttings hydro grown with all the neccecary and silicon(which is the only element left out of hydro nutes but present in soil,a very underused supplemrnt)finished with orgs,for flavour and density.Autos cool for beginners But advance on and you'll notice that the real deal doesn't catch your throat like the bit of ruderalis needed for the auto genes but its a trade off,I never heard of a connoiseur with an auto collectable.TBSd

So youre saying the ruderalis in autos make it a less enjoyable or harsher smoke? I've never smoked ganja that i 100% knew what it was before, which is one of the reasons im so hyped for growing myself, so i couldnt say. But since im getting into growing, its definitely going to be interesting to make these kinda of judgement calls.

Are you sure the ruderalis is actually noticeable in the smoke? You sure your throat just wasnt having a bad time because of some poorly cured bud?
