Trala’s Tent

Operation Hail Mary by Andy Weir is the best thing I have read this year. Same guy who wrote The Martian (Matt Damon was in the movie). It's excellent.
I read Artemis by him during that run of sci if. Good stuff!

I sort of let my kindle suggest books for me once I had read a few and it lead me to some great ones.
Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky was one of my favorites in that time.
At the time he had only written one book but it was fantastic, and got me started on all kinds of things.
Hope that you are doing well, the plants are looking green as hell ;)

I just looked it up as I'm also always on the lookout for the next great story and this book was the Winner of the 30th Anniversary Arthur C. Clarke Award for Best Novel in 2015. So, I'm definitely going to check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.

My favourite sci-fi novel is The Chrysalids by John Wyndham. We read it in high school and I've read it several times since then. It was an impactful story for me as it was about discrimination and I've always been against discrimination in all its forms.

I also really enjoyed The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. :battingeyelashes:

Handmaid's Tale did my head in, still trying to forget it

His second book (the sequel to this one) is pretty good as well.
But the first one was amazing and got me into the world building, post apocalyptic, everyone leaving the planet type of stories. Quite a rabbit hole if you go down it lol
The Road by Cormac McCarthy (not sci-fi) is one that really sticks with me. Hard to shake the creepy feeing that book gives you.

I've also put a hold on your book, Dee. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Great! I'll look forward to it.

I don't do creepy. I don't like creepy. That's why I don't normally read psychological suspense.

Children of Time is a fantastic book and I won’t spoil anything for you but just in case you have a phobia- it is about spiders ;)

I read Artemis too, but liked the Martian a lot more and this new one is as good as The Martian. It's an excellent 1st contact story.

I've tried to read McCarthy a couple of times. His style is a little too weird for me.

These flowers look like nothing I've ever grown.

I literally couldn't have got to this point without the training and growing advice I learned here. Xo

They are BURSTING with good health. They each drink 4L per day.

Evening (here) T meister. I don’t read as much as you but I do go through spells of it.
I went on a sci-fi rampage and read like 19 books in a month, even though I had never read sci-if. It was fantastic, I hadn’t done anything like that in years with any type of books.
I sort of let my kindle suggest books for me once I had read a few and it lead me to some great ones.

Well, well, well, look whose come down from the corporate box, taken off his 3 piece suit and joined us commoners in the mosh pit.

Hello Juzzy G Bomb!

Welcome to an area where we can go from discussing the 8th letter of the Greek alphabet to smelly cheese like secretions in fat skin folds in the blink of an eye.

You will be pleased to know when it comes to this thread, your dad is KING!

I grew up in a small town and wanted an adventure. I got one, but not the one I imagined. Oh & I drive over a 17 mile bridge and tunnel to work everyday...
Well I was born in a small town and I live in a small town, I’ll pribably die in a small town. Oh, those small communities, sorry that was John Mellencamp. I was born in the hood tbh :laughtwo: :laughtwo: :laughtwo:

I‘d have to quit. I can go tunnel if it’s dirt above, but that drive tunnel from England to France with dirt then water. Yeah nah, I’d die in transit.

Tralala far out the leaves already gettin crystals! Its going to be a thing of beauty
Giddaaaaaay maaaaaaaaate.

I think I’ve told you this, my mum used to call me Tralala when she was happy, it makes my heart feel warm to read it.

I really hope so, this Bega Trop has been a bit of a game changer for me. I get a bit Squirty McSquirt Squit with liquid nutes. I have been following my chart to. the. fucking. gram. I am determined for a successful harvest.

Those gray nutes you speak of- definite game changer. It’s pretty much the only way if you want huge autos. @Carcass turned me onto it, and it has done well for me. Now that I have my own breed I’m growing, what did I turn to when I want consistency and solid results without problems? You can guess.
I was shown the way, and my way is ALWAYS with a digital scale and under 5.5g/G. The ladies can’t resist it ;)

And thank you, it’s good to be back among my people.

I am LOVING this book talk.

Hashgirl, I started Tell no one last night :)

Next book I will try sci-fi - I don’t know if I’ll like it, I’ve never even seen Star Wars. While I haven’t read The Handmaids Tale, but I love the TV series. In fact I’m hoping to watch a couple of eps today. I’m up to Ep7.

It funny, I can do suspense, but I can’t do horror, I hate to feel scared, like not to be Tramatic but it’s almost PTSD‘y. Much of my childhood and early teen years was spent scared, and my body doesn’t like the feeling. I literally can’t even do carnival rides. We did a trip to Tassie, and there was this chairlift, and my partner is like look there’s kids on it, it’s safe as, against my internal fear warning bell in full ding ding mode I agreed and got on. O. M. G. Let’s just say my guy will never repeat that mistake again. Lollllll

’ello there old chap.

Lovely jubbly. Dib dib dib, dob, dob, dob and all that Englishy stuff.

Thank you! I’m how you say... chuffed to bits!

:)

I haven’t grown an auto yet. Hopefully one day.

They really are - tho hell expensive to get to Australia. I’m currently at 2.5mg/2L, and my plants usually drink 4L per day. I did have some bronze flecking on a couple of leaves on the shiskaberry but it hasn’t got worse. I remember Sauga saying it stank, mate compared to the rank shit I’ve smelled over the years it’s fine.

My dream is to become Admin so I can read the tea that gets spilled via PM. If I win lotto, I’m going try and entice OG 420 into my web of debauchery, buy the forum from him and really shake things up :laughtwo: :laughtwo: :laughtwo:

Seriously though I do hope all is goody with you even tho I’m DYING to know why you took your suit off ;)

I can't do horror either and I also hate feeling scared. And, I'm very, very timid physically. I very rarely try anything that could cause me grievous injury. I'm 61 years old with multiple medical issues but have never broken a bone or been hospitalized. Not looking forward to either of things ever.

Seriously though I do hope all is goody with you even tho I’m DYING to know why you took your suit off ;)

I'm curious, too. Not only is your cool suit missing but your cool title is missing, too. Everything okay?

All is fantastic, I just don’t have time to do everything that needs to be done in a journalist’s position.
plus I’d rather just post whenever I want and talk about books and the beach and breed my own misfits, etc.

Omg I have been injured so. many. times. I have more scars than most men. I been stitched in so many different places.

I am very loud. And when cornered I am loudest. I just can’t keep my mouth shut, even when it meant the end result was it being wired shut.! The scareder (is too a word spelled wrong red line) I feel the taller, squarer and more firmly I stand. LOLLLINGGG

What are your medical issues? I love medical issues!
