Purple Punch is being difficult. Lost about 30 leaves this morning. Some of the leaves I'm losing seem pretty healthy.

Morning VG... not a good start to your day huh? Are the leaves breaking off easily at the petiole as you bend them? Can you get some pics of the plant overall, top and bottom? Maybe it's nothing. Some of those leaves possibly show mag def. You're feeding 6.5g's?

OK, so now after knowing what you just said I would back off on the MC. It sounds like too much N causing lots of other issues, such as K and Mg def. Too much N causes weak stems(petioles) and causes more demand for Mg and reduces the availability of K.
Drop it down to 5.5g/gallon for the next feeding or two and see how she responds.
