Total 1000W CFL Auto Grow

Ok I have got what I believe are 3 gallon pots i'll have to verify the lady at the hydro store was i think high.... She claimed they were 5gallon but they dont look it. Anyways I got 2 of those for now and I'll be using FF OF, roots 707 organic, perlite...... My thoughts were use 80% 707 and 20% perlite in small maybe 1 gallon in the center of the big 3 gal pot.... The rest of the pot will be 80% OF and 20% perlite.... Thoughts soil experts? Since I'm going auto I'm not wanting to re-pot.....

U wna mix it 50/50 mate for best results.good airiation for roots;) hope this helps;)

Just mix the 2 soils 50/50 and how much perlite should i add? I'm super stoked about this attempt got a light rig somewhat built I have to make my reflector still but I think it will work just perfect for now. Question though, since they are autos do they need the 2700k light from the beginning or only in flower? I planned on using all the 6500k and 5000k that I have in veg then taking 2 of the 5000k out when i flower and plug in the 2700k....

I ment mix the soil and pelite 50/50 mate.i dont kno about mixing soil never done it;) and its an auto mate i always bang them under as much light i have from the begining for good growth from start to finish.so upto u mate.best of luck;)

I like how much you have thought about this. Most of us put seeds in the soil before we are ready. Once they start to grow, you find it hard to slow them down. I didn't like auto's very much, but I know they are popular. Looks like you have a great jump at this.

Good luck.

Quick photo update I've been promising......

Now I have mixed 50/50 FoxFarms OceanForest and Roots Organic 707 Formula soil. I'll be adding in 30% perlite also, quick question should i water the soil at all in the beginning? I'm germinating a few bag seeds I'm going to grow 1 of them along side 1 of these autos for fun and training. Want to practice LST, topping, FIM on it. Just need some input on the soil, leave it dry or water it? Thanks all I'm looking forward to this grow.... I'll be adding a Mars Reflector 96 LED light in within 2-3 weeks so it's going to turn into a LED grow here with 1 maybe 2 plants in this space for starters. Thanks all for your support thus far.

Then after it sprouts out put the shell side up and root down 2cm into soil and water well with lights on 20/4?

EDIT: Soil is mixed up and in the pots they are #5 nursery pots which I've researched and believe they are about 4 gallons. I have them both piled full but the soil is loose and fluffy, not watered..... Any input is appreciated mates first time grower here....

When not doing hydro, I do about what you are doing. Except I go from seed into quart, then to gallon and then to 4 gallon. I don't like to water all that dirt when not needed. Sometimes I miss the proper time to transplant and get a nice compact root ball, then I make side cuts to the root ball with a razor knife and on the next watering, use a small amount of Clonex in the watering can.
