To Hell in A Hempy Bucket - Vrt CMH - Wonder Woman/Red Dragon

Hay TT, that WW looks like she's stacked ;) Did your plants go more than 3 days between waterings before the lava rocks?

A Sharpie plugs a 7/16" hole quite nicely, if I leave it plugged for 20 min or so, the bucket gets a real nice soaking and a whoosh of oxygen when I do pull the plug.

:peace:

The WW are beautifully growing plants. I have two more in mini-hempies that i am going to transplant after set 2 goes into 12/12.

The plants that barely made it to 3 days between waterings are the perlite res with 80/20 coco/soil. My 50/50 coco soil pots went 5 to 6 days. But those were the over-nute plants. The red lava rock plants move from veg to 12/12 this evening.

I am thinking of putting a layer of red lava on top of the set 1 pots if they don't go for 3 days after a good soak.

I'll try out a sharpie. Just remembered that I have some cork in an old boat bag. Could fashion up a set of bucket corks.

The whoosh of oxygen is cool. So is the bubbling as the water soaks into everything. :bongrip:

Quicky Update:

Set 2 moved to 12/12.

Set 1 in 12/12 for 10 days starting to flower so calling 3/6 the first day of flowering.

Set 1 barely made it to 3 days between waterings. I either need to top dress with some more soil, top dress with lava rock, throw on an extra pint after a day or two, or some combination of the above. Exact same watering mix as last time.

It will be interesting to see how Set 2 does with water.

Set 1 seemed to be good on nutes. The tiny bit extra made all the difference.

Set 1 RD is up to 22" and the WW is at 15". The base of the light is currently below the top of the RD which should slow down the stretch a little.

Now my thoughts can debate how to nute Set 1 during the initial flowering stage. :morenutes: Keep the same routine until stretch is over, top dress with some more organic fert, start bloom nutes, make a tea?

teas are good but I don't have much space for a bubbling bucket. I looked at some just add water teas at the garden center and at OSH. $20+ for something that made between 3 and 8 gallons seemed steep. They also did not have much in them. A local hydro store has some tea in a refrigerated case for $9.95. Only lasts for about two weeks and is more than I need.

Oh the choices. I also need to weed out the veg zone. Too many plants and strains when I only have room for the 2 more WW and 2 other plants. Then it will be about a month before any room frees up. Who stays, who goes.

I can squeeze 14 plants into my two spaces but have decided to do only 4 in each space. It is just too much hassle dealing with plants that are crammed together.

Much easier to have extra space between the plants. Easier to keep the area clean, better air circ, and much less work to water and trim. :surf:

Two Tokes just caught up, I'm subbed. Looking nice I agree about trying to work with plants all crammed in there. I think that's what I'm in for though.

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a gram of Red Dragon ?
My friends all smoke Blue Dream, I must make amends.
In pain all the daytime, no help from my meds,
So Lord, won't you buy me a gram of Red Dragon ?
:grinjoint:

You should have enough room in your DR80 for the four plants. You might want to watch getting too bushy. I think Setting Sun used the same tents in his last grow. You might want to check how much he vegged before going 12/12.

Red Dragon

The parentage of this line is exotic — a West Himalayan Kush crossed with a true breeding Brazilian sativa. (Utopia Haze) "These buds have a distinct and immediate, exotic sativa high, but is followed minutes later by a wonderful undertow of a solid Kush stone that lasts and lasts. Finished buds have a taste and smell of sweet guava fruit.

No BS! :allgood:

Janice couldn't have said it better! :cheer:

looks good two tokes.
i also have 2 massive wonder woman plants i veg'd for 12 weeks.
they're 22" and wide. i veg'd that long because of the cold, and didnt want to run an electric heater for 12 hours. ill pull 4z's off each one easy. this is my second WW grow. the last time i got 2.5 z's and veged for 5 weeks.
they get wide and bushy but not very tall (medium size) so you'll need some space between them. real skunky skicky buds. good luck bro:tokin:

And Janice didn't get to smoke Red Dragon.

My inspiration came after smoking a small test bud stolen from the little seedling I have flowering out. Still has maybe 2 to 3 weeks to go but is damn good. I was going to write up a report but he official company report says in two sentences what I would say in two long paragraphs.

Great stuff this RD. Inspired me to get rid of a bunch of extra plants I had of other strains. A sickly SLH seedling, a Blue Dragon mother and a Headband mom. Just had way too many plants around that i was never going to have room to grow all.

Welcome Sully.:roorrip:

Wish i had the room to do some large, well vegged plants. I love the way the WW grows. Looking forward to the buds in about 2 months. Hope they are real stuncky and sticky :grinjoint:

Both sets got watered last night . Set 1 just made it to day 3 and did it a little better than last time. Hard to tell with Set 2 because the pots are so naturally heavy. Set 1 absorbed about a pint per plant more water than Set 2. Kind of interesting when you consider that 1/2 the Set 2 pots are rocks. Set 2 also does a delightfully more aggressive draining.

It will be a couple more waterings before I can give red lava another point.:smokin:

hello twotokes. the WW'S are starting to stretch, and theres nodes everywhere. i pulled 4 more clones of WW's from the lower part of the plants.
so far so good. in rockwool and domed, soaked rock wool in GO bio root and kelp solution before cloning. folair w/ kelp and water daily. should start rooting in a week. could probably pull 10 more clones from each. but i dont have the space. they really are starting to bud. im using carbo blast, open sesame, tiger bloom, big bloom and GH fruit n' fussion sweetner. i got 5 more weeks which is much considering 12+ week veg.
that was the longest period of veg ive ever done. besides outside grows.
my only regret is not using a bigger pot. im using 5 gal buckets. 10 gals. would be better. or a plastic trash barrel. lol.:goodluck:

i would love to have the room to grow a trash can tree of WW. Or anything for that matter.

I am using a lot less stuff than you but am about to start some foliar experiments.

As these your WW's get closer to the blessed event, feel free to post a pick or two.:smokin:

In a more boring picture taking stage but I'll throw some up soon. Just about to transplant two more of these Wonderful Women.

The competition for the last two grow pots is heating up. The current leader is Vanilla Cush followed by Grandma Purple, Red Dragon, Jack Herer, & Super Lemon Haze. The decision won't be made until the VC & JH show their intentions. Midi-hempies of seedlings went into 12/12 with Set 2.:slide:

we had the first day of Hot Garage Syndrome. This is when the sun starts heating the garage roof enough that the garage stays warm as the sun sets and during the afternoon I can feel the heat radiating from the inner roof.

Time to work on the cooling situation. :hmmmm:

High TT. Phew, heat :( If you can get to the underside of your roof, there's some good radiant barriers that might help. Some are sheets, some membranes... but usually, if you can get to the roof, you've packed it full of junk ;)

:peace:

Oh, I've got plenty of junk. Fortunately, I installed Reflctix on the whole lid and west facing wall. The radiant heat comes through the Reflectix by some point in the afternoon.

One plan is to put some Reflectix on top of the junk to send the heat back up.

Right now, the only ventilation now is a gable vent and a whirly that might have bad bearings. Step one is to get up on the roof with a spray can of white lithium and see if grease fixes the problem.:slide:

Then, it is time to try some McGrowver methods. :smokin: Air conditioning is not really an option.
