Titan Controls: Flo N Gro Review

Yeah BPN has vitablue so I wouldn't need super thrive right? And I'm not running organic except the root magic in early veg. So I should start shopping on h202? Titan is on order and should be expecting delivery between the 14-21 of this month. I'm super excited! Think ill finally do a journal as well!

Only you can say for sure, but I would probably not use Vita Blue and Superthrive. I don't know much about Vita Blue either, so I don't know if they are exact replacements. Superthrive has a bunch of hormones as well. Does Vita Blue have those too?

You do not want to use H2O2 if you're planning to use root magic. That product is an innoculant who's goal is to introduce living fungi into your roots. If you use H2O2 after doing this, you will kill those organisms off. H2O2 does not stay in the system very long, so you can use H2O2 to clean a system before introducing the Root Magic, but then you will want to stop using the H2O2.

You definitely should start a journal. I love bucket systems! I'm still considering the Titan for my second flowering room, but I'm leaning towards a DIY solution at the moment. That decision is many months away though. ;)

That's what's in BPNs vitablue per their website. Wish I knew what all this stuff does I really need to learn about the nutes I'm giving my girls. I really am dumb when it comes to all the chemistry stuff. I'm just happy I can measure x amount of ml and they have a feed schedule! On website it says vitablue compares to ANs b-52. What do you think hiker should I get the super thrive too? Thanks!

Sorry to derail thread back to the flo n gro discussion!!

That first section is required to be on the label of any product sold as a fertilizer/supplement afaik. It just says what the NPK strengths are and where they come from. The 'Also contains' section is what makes it special. So this one has B1 and Humic Acid. Humic acid is a chelating agent, which means it helps the nutrient dissolve into solution in a way that allows the roots to absorb them. Superthrive does not provide the same ingredients information afaik, so it's hard to say which you should use. If it was me, I probably wouldn't use both. If you already have the Vita Blue, just use that. Once your room is all setup and running smoothly, you can start experimenting by swapping the two for a grow and compare results. If you're gonna run all BPN anyway, you might want to go ahead and order the Vita Blue if you don't already have Superthrive.

I do not use H202 in my system I use DM ZONE. I run coreys full line minus the root magic. I use orca and hygrozyme while my plants are in veg. Once veg cycle is finished I stop using it.

I have one air pump running the air stones in my 55 gallon res. I think it helps keep things cooler and they get more oxygen. Bonus all the way around.

And yes, the blue zone is just like dm zone. I'm currently testing it for Corey but I'm sure he can hook you up. I only use 3 tablespoons for a 55 gallon res. That seems just enough not to let anything bad from starting in your system. I have a whole host of good information and at some point soon will post it.

Thanks AK

I'll probably switch to BPN after I use up my GH, but it will be at another harvest before I run out of any of the GH Flora bottles. Everything else (DM Zone, H2O2, Calimag, Hygrozyme, etc) will all need replenishing during the next crop.

I look forward to your post, so much I was out measuring up for grow room expansion. Adding an 8.5' x 7.5' space. I was thinking the Flo-n-Gro was the ticket, for a new flower room. This idea would include converting my current room into a propagation/nursery area. Cha Ching I can hear the register now, more lights and fans and so on.

Thanks DocDee! I like A1's idea for a how-to thread. I have 2 air stones in my res, now (thanks A1 for that idea!). You don't need Superthrive and Vita Blue - they do indeed serve the same sort of function, and include very similar ingredients. You guys will really like the Flo N Gro I think! :)

That thread would be my new bible for a bit!! Really appreciate all your guys help! None of you have to do anything but I'm just happy that there's still some good people out there and for all of them to be in this community it's great!! Thanks agin everyone!!

Going to clean out the grow room and get ready for the new system. Wish me luck haha.

No guarantee you will get plants like them, but you will have a proven system that has shown it can deliver the product. The brunt of the grow rests on the shoulders of the grower. No finer examples of that here than Xlr8 n AK1.

I have been shopping systems for a while, and find the Titan to best engineered and assembled. I think they have a superior float system as well. It's as plug and play as you can get. They also appear to provide excellent support based on the feedback reported. I am sure both guys can attest to that support and warranty.

Yea it's gonna run me around 3k to do exactly what I want but it'll be worth it if I can get plants like AK and xlr8

Thank you SmokzAlot - great points on the customer support, it was very good for me.

As I am seriously considering dropping the hammer on a Flo-n-Gro I wish to ask, how flexible is the system for fitting smaller rooms? How flexible is the hose system? How easy is it to split the kit between two rooms? Does the hose system allow that with supplied parts or will I need additional? I do not wish to piece meal it, would rather buy the whole enchilada. Also curious if anyone has run it with the fabric liner and other mediums. Such as a coco/perlite.

Smokz,
The system is as flexible as you want it. You can do only one bucket if you choose.
You can certainly run it between 2 rooms if you choose as I have one system running 2 tents but remember that those 2 rooms need to be on the same feeding schedule because they will both be drawing from the one 55 gallon res. You can always purchase extras hose like I have. I purchased a 100 ft spool of the stuff. It's pretty flexible stuff but if you need to make serious bends with it then you might run into issues. If you need to make those kind of bends Lowes sells ribbed hose that will allow you to make those bends. If you look at some of my old journals you will see what it looks like.

I can't answer tour question on mediums as o have always used hydroton because after all the reading I have done research has said this is the best medium to use with this type of system.

I'll just add that, while you could technically do a coco/perlite in fabric inserts, I'd not recommend it personally. The issue is, the timers are typical 24 hour timers - and coco/perlite will not typically need watering even as much as once every day, which would be the minimum automated setting. Even with the perlite, the amount of media and the way the outer bucket holds in moisture seem less than optimal as Keeping coco that wet can attract molds, fungus and bugs.

Not saying it can't be done, but it doesn't seem ideal to me...

The tubing it comes with is pretty flexible, and I run it around a corner without elbows. As long as the bend isn't too sharp.

As far as scaling smaller, I typically grow with 3-5 buckets, in a tent that only measures about 3'x5'. The reservoir sits outside the tent. To conserve space in the room outside the tent, I use a smaller DIY (Rubbermaid) reservoir, but the one that comes with the system would also work fine.
