Tips for a new grower? A month into my first grow

Update: got rid of the foil, added some "can reflectors (money is tight) and painted the pots green to let less light in, about a week later this is where we are. I haven't added any **NUTES** yet still just alternating between tap and RO water. I'm re-potting them later today.

Brother if you want to do this properly, you need a PH meter and some PH Up/Down. Keep your eye on craigs list or ebay for a cheap but good full spectrum led (less heat) that you can hang. I'd guess 300 watt from your pic. I'll bet you can get a good used one for $25-$50.

You need to exchange the air, so you need ventilation and a fan(s). At some point the smell will be an issue. Is that going to be a problem?

Other things like soil type and nutrients are pretty secondary. You may have to chalk these guys up to experience (not yet), but it's not a failure. You got them this far with little knowledge or tools.
