Ok, I am blown away by this. I have been watching the news but this has me really nervous. Kinda thinking about the Mayan calendar and wondering is this the way that we're suppose to be going out? You have given me a lot to think about, that's for sure. But glad to see you back and hopes everything is just groovy in your neck of the woods. Give the missus a hug for me.

I don't think that most people have a clue of what a nuclear or biological or CYBER war would do to the world. I guess they didn't see the films of the hydrogen bomb tests...or Hiroshima....or Nagasaki....:scratchinghead:

so when you get cooked by the radiation and the shockwave destroys everything around you...you save future survivors from needing to bury you...


if a nuke is heading your way and you have no preperations...run outside find a manhole cover and get ye into the sewer!

if you can get yourself into a trench of any kind and its not a direct hit your chances of survival increase massively! then you just need to get NBC'd asap

of course if its an air burst, you got many more problems, but the sewer is still your very best option under most circumstances as an average joe with no nuclear winter bunker under your house.

There have been so many cover ups, and ludicrous attempts to falsify things so as to make the public think different.. EXAMPLE 9/11 - I watched a documentary on this which had EYE WITNESS TESTIMONIES FROM THE FIRE FIGHTERS WHO SAW THE PLANE CRASH AND SAID -" The way the building exploded was not like a plane crash it looked more like detonation of charges for building demolition and such, each level imploded and collapsed on itself the same way that charges are set for demolition". And with the pentagon they said a Boeing 747 crashed into it, but MANUFACTURERS FOR ROLLS ROYCE STATED THE ENGINE THEY TRIED TO SAY WAS FROM THE BOEING WAS NOT OF ANY KIND OF RR ENGINE? And the crash site was too small but conveniently took out the section of the Pentagon where records were stored?? So how can you trust these people, 2 words.. YOU CANT!!

i have no idea if you misread previous posts or if your making a pre-emptive statement...
im just clarifying that between jtg's post and yours, no one made a disparaging remark.
i know i made my post sound funny, but its actually the truth (as i see it). there is plenty of evidence that hiding even a little bit below ground level can make a huge difference to survivability of the initial blast as long as your not in ground zero...then nothing can save you.

as to the rest of it...the caveman with the biggest club has been the author of history since man began. of course we cant trust the man with the power =)

All sounds a bit interesting. My Son Is in the U.S. Navy overseas. His behavior has not changed as I talk to him frequently. His location is a big factor in this. That does not necessarily infer anyone is right or wrong. I just HOPE its all wrong! That said cant hurt to be prepared.
 
wish i could prepare. life on the breadline sucks ass. xmas with a bunch of kids while being on minimum wage is no fun at all, i doubt i could afford a single gas mask from the local surplus.

still....once those bombs start to drop, the rules of survival come into play, god help anyone that gets in the way of me providing whatever is needed by whatever means im able.

i already know that if people are dying all around england like the london bombings in ww2, im finding me a boat and heading south, and im taking my seeds with me :rofl:

You only need two things and you can survive... a firestarter and a knife.

If you have a family to provide for and no money do what I do... this time of year the garden stores are pulling seeds. Today I got an entire garden with a years supply of food for $4.50 ... and keep some taters in the bin :cheesygrinsmiley:
 
i dont even need a fire starter and a knife.
i may not have money for equip but i have some skills...im a post apocalyptic nut and i know enough to wake up naked in a temperate deciduous area and thrive...ive never really had the time to pick up skills outside of my native regions tho.

my family is definatly getting into self sufficiency. we are growing all sorts of stuff at the moment and im about to get into comfrey soon (read as ferts for everything else). as my grow room tech evolves, my redundant gear gets donated to the food side of the family grow culture we got going =)
