I’m using natural mulch just as a personal preference. I wonder if there’s a difference? Maybe I’ll do a side by side with the babies…

I should have said natural versus a solid plastic earthBox mulch cover like the one I used. It's weird to use it but it works. Rez water only.I’m using natural mulch just as a personal preference. I wonder if there’s a difference? Maybe I’ll do a side by side with the babies…
Do you pH your rez water?I should have said natural versus a solid plastic earthBox mulch cover like the one I used. It's weird to use it but it works. Rez water only.
I do not. Please don’t make me…Do you pH your rez water?

The only time you need to PH is if your plan is for something to bypass the microbes and feed the plant directly. So if you want the plant to eat from the reservoir, PH'ing will help.Ok, thanks for the confirmation. I, too, don't think it necessary but I'm making a modification to my organic SIP by separating the soil and water functions and wanted to check.
Azi, how do you plan to separate the soil and water functions? Don't the roots hog the water and grow towards it, focusing energy on that instead of feeding from the soil? I mean I could take the view that the roots have hit an aquifer. I'm interested to follow your progress on this please.Ok, thanks for the confirmation. Thanks buddy! Training them is my favorite part of the grow…Nice canopy!
Well, it seems to me that in an organic grow there are two distinct calls for moisture. The first is the plant's need which, given the success of hydro and near hydro results, seem to be along the lines of the more, the better.Azi, how do you plan to separate the soil and water functions? I only want them drinking from the res, not eating. SO has done this in a past Earthbox grow with success. The only time you need to PH is if your plan is for something to bypass the microbes and feed the plant directly. So if you want the plant to eat from the reservoir, PH'ing will help.
Ph'ing rez is interesting! never done it. Bet it brings brix up! I think my brix rested at 9 in the cherries d grow. That went solid covered and no water on top.I only want them drinking from the res, not eating. SO has done this in a past Earthbox grow with success.
