Themaddabber's Hempy Bucket Bathtub Grow 2017

We would honored to have you .

. yes very likely!! Even though I've heard a few rumors that Santa medicates ..

It would be a hell of a fun time!

Do it! .

I guess so .. I've never been to a cannabis cup.... but done a few bowls!

Maybe we'll will just have to make our own for now .

We will start planning in the upcoming weeks and announce dates and locations this spring!
Have to find some stoner friendly functions to attend/ do.
We could probably pull quite the number of 420 mag enthusiast. Border troubles are only concern

Yes I know... I lied .

So without further ado

DABBER' S DIY WATERING RING

first and foremost is the T connector

420-magazine-mobile1847105361.jpg

Don't take measurements for granted. Physically take this piece over to the tubing section and be 100% sure it fits!

The next step is to decide if you want 1 ring or 2 (inner and outter). The single ring requires one T the double THREE!

MEASURE CAREFULLY the DIAMETER you want the ring to be at its biggest point. Say your pot has a 10 inch diameter. If you want a 8 inch ring (diameter) just multiply your desired circumference by 3 and subtract one inch.

So we have our 10 inch pot. 8 inches is how big across we want our ring. 8 x 3 = 24.

24 - 1 = 23 inches of tubing.

Ps. This example is for the basic single ring.

For a second inner ring take your diameter, multiply by 3 then subtract TWO INCHES.

3 x 8 = 24 - 2 = 22 inches for the outter ring.

NOTE: the inner ring will only really work with 6 inch and larger outter rings, for this specific build.

The inner ring is calculated the same as the single outter ring..... Say we want a 5 inch inner ring. (5 x 3) -1 = 14 inches of tubing. You will also need a 2 or 3 inch splice piece to connect the two T joints to make an H shape.

Physics tells us the hole furthest from the intake will receive the lowest pressurized flow so initially I drilled more holes towards trhe far end of my loop. Then realized after using it, the loop being flat and having some back pressure allowed for them to flow relatively evenly. I suggest starting with fewer holes and running it in the sink until you find your ideal distribution of water....

Then just connect the T

Add a small splice of tubing and attach the funnel

420-magazine-mobile1487417946.jpg

Easy as can be and only 4 dollars in supplies. Likely less in the lower 48!

For the inner ring.

You want to take your outter tubing and say it's 22 inches (from previous example) cut that tube in half, and place a T connector on either end. Add your small splice piece to each T joint. One will have the funnel attached. On the other place another T joint.

This picture is a rough idea... obviously there should be another T adjacent to the ones shown where the water comes in... but the idea is to make a second smaller ring inside. Again it works better with larger pots, and larger outter rings....

But that's the idea!

Simple easy DIY and DOSENT look like a total hack job. Unlike my veg and flower enclosures

Dude, that is an awesome setup. It's not like it is all that expensive either. You just got my brain cranking to make something like that which could water all 6 off my girls with a quarter-turn shut off valve to each plant, all going to one funnel... (Sorry, buzzed and thinking out loud right now... )

If I ever get it built correctly, ill let you know!

That's totally do-able! This tutorial is really the most basic version of what could be an awesome self watering system

Well gang/ crew/ 420 family time for a little update of sorts.

Temps are back at 79 to 81 for highs.

QUESTUON: is this too hot for flower? I'm really wanting to see some coloration, and I'm hoping the "overnight lows" of 66 to 70 are cold enough to bring out some pink hues on the kush...

Humidity is in check ever since the addition of the carbon filter aka air scrubber. Rarely see it creep over 50%

I fed Gloria and Abbie yesterday the following:

AN Ph perfect grow micro bloom 3 part plant food

10 ml grow

8 ml micro

10 ml bloom

5 ml liquid karma

1 tsp of molasses

I think we were at around 661 ppm. So roughly 500 ppm of additives and nutrients. Had it up a bit higher but in hempy with salt build up it always seems smart to alternate feeding with a slightly lower ppm. She will go back to about 700 ppm again tonight.

The other qb120 is installed between Lilly and Gloria to hopefully help the side with lot a of robust off shoots really thrive.

Here I go lecturing about pink and purple pics so any and all who are sensitive, you have been forewarned!

I'll have better pics later this evening...

Gloria did well to listen to her daddy and start to frost like her big sister Lilly

Really stacking now .

Okay everyone that's all for now. Gotta squeeze in some lunch, a shower, visit over at arctic bowls, and then into town for some errands.

Hope everyone is having a super Sunday! And may your plants prosper and buds swell

How are you liking the liquid Karma? I get curious because as you know I want all their products so I like to see what other people's opinions are I use it in my water and as a foliar spray

Hey there I'm high!

Yeah you know so far so good! I struggle with companies not coming out and just saying flat out what is in their products. They always wanna talk things up and brag aboout how great a product is and what it does to help... and I'm like just tell me what the hell is in it!!!

That being said, I grabbed itwith intentions of using it as a way to help increase flower size. So far I can't compare it against other harvests really because I dont Have a super extensive growing background.

I do like that it contains a lot of organic material from seaweed to yucca and fulvic acid (a hormone that is supposed to help increase nutrient uptake). The organic material is great for me because I use advanced nutrients voodoo juice and pirhana (micro beasties) and the liquid karma offers food for those beneficial microbes.

All this being said, I will likely stick with it going forward. If I do switch it would be to flourolicious (a similar product by GH I beleive).

I also use molasses as a natural sweetener and food for the microbes. Super cheap and effective!
