Yes I know... I lied .
So without further ado
DABBER' S DIY WATERING RING
first and foremost is the T connector
Don't take measurements for granted. Physically take this piece over to the tubing section and be 100% sure it fits!
The next step is to decide if you want 1 ring or 2 (inner and outter). The single ring requires one T the double THREE!
MEASURE CAREFULLY the DIAMETER you want the ring to be at its biggest point. Say your pot has a 10 inch diameter. If you want a 8 inch ring (diameter) just multiply your desired circumference by 3 and subtract one inch.
So we have our 10 inch pot. 8 inches is how big across we want our ring. 8 x 3 = 24.
24 - 1 = 23 inches of tubing.
Ps. This example is for the basic single ring.
For a second inner ring take your diameter, multiply by 3 then subtract TWO INCHES.
3 x 8 = 24 - 2 = 22 inches for the outter ring.
NOTE: the inner ring will only really work with 6 inch and larger outter rings, for this specific build.
The inner ring is calculated the same as the single outter ring..... Say we want a 5 inch inner ring. (5 x 3) -1 = 14 inches of tubing. You will also need a 2 or 3 inch splice piece to connect the two T joints to make an H shape.
Physics tells us the hole furthest from the intake will receive the lowest pressurized flow so initially I drilled more holes towards trhe far end of my loop. Then realized after using it, the loop being flat and having some back pressure allowed for them to flow relatively evenly. I suggest starting with fewer holes and running it in the sink until you find your ideal distribution of water....
Then just connect the T
Add a small splice of tubing and attach the funnel
Easy as can be and only 4 dollars in supplies. Likely less in the lower 48!
For the inner ring.
You want to take your outter tubing and say it's 22 inches (from previous example) cut that tube in half, and place a T connector on either end. Add your small splice piece to each T joint. One will have the funnel attached. On the other place another T joint.
This picture is a rough idea... obviously there should be another T adjacent to the ones shown where the water comes in... but the idea is to make a second smaller ring inside. Again it works better with larger pots, and larger outter rings....
But that's the idea!
Simple easy DIY and DOSENT look like a total hack job. Unlike my veg and flower enclosures
