Flip day has arrived!! Have on my festive shirt. Seems how I have yet to win a 420 mag one .

Lights on in about an hour.

I'm having mixed emotions about the last screen tuck....

Part of me says suck it up and let them be, but the other part of me is worried if the switch to 16 8 from 18 6 initiated preflower stretch and I'm taking away from their potential. What do I know?!

I will likely free up some inner bondage to promote vertical growth, but only if I feel she needs it upon lights on.

Well the chop is complete!!! What a beautiful specimen . I'll grab a quick pick then I nees to jump in the shower. Whats the beat drying method? Can I use my dehydrator or just leave it hanging?

She is upside down in the open jar. I can maybe put her in the cupboard but I'm nervous for mold. That's where the trim grew mold.... way to stinky for the wife so it has to stay in the room!

How you dry depends a lot on the humidity in the house, which is going to be insanely low this time of year in the Interior.

I have had a lot of luck letting it air dry 2 or 3 days, till the bud stems snap when bent, then I put them in a closed container with a hydrometer. You want the bud at around 60 - 65% humidity. If it's still above that, remove the lid and let it dry another 12 - 24 hours, then jar up, with a Boveda pack to regulate moisture.

Fill the jar 1/2 so you have room to roll the jar to keep the buds separated. If the Missus lets you, Put the jar in the door of the fridge, so you see it and remember to roll it at least once a day. If the buds stick together, uncap the jar to release moisture. You might even have to dump the buds out into a trying tray, if their moisture content changed in the fridge. it happens, esp when you think it's dry enough, but it isn't.

If the fridge is not an option, you can set the jar(s) in the window of your grow room, or near enough to be cold, but not frozen. (about 40 deg. F)

If you should over dry, just lightly spritz the buds and recap.

No biggie how you dry and cure. It's totally dependent on your household conditions, and what works for you. The goals are to dry without heat, and to maintain all the terpenes possible. The slow dry and cure method (in a fridge) ensures that the buds will be much fresher-looking and more aromatic over time, as the cannabiniods gradually go through their chemical changes.
 
I have between 40 and 50 % in the room right now. Temps between 68 and 79. I'll watt the cabinet door every so often when I'm in there, for now. But my goal is to have the stem snap right? Then into jars? I don't have a hydrometer . So will burping every so often suffice? Maybe I'll just text arctic bowl and see if he has one I can borrow for a little. Just hate asking him for anything since he already has done so much for me

You can afford a cheapo hydrometer. This is available at Freddys for under $5. In the gardening dept, with the other thermometers. The dial is adjustable, so you can synch it with another one, maybe while you're visiting AB.

Actually, given the size of Gloria and Lilly, get 5 or 6. You'll need them. Get some Boveda 62s while you're at it. Love the zip-tie. Most of us suffice with much lower tech!

You can dry slower in a cardboard box or paper bag without mold better than in a glass jar which has no air circulation. Hang on strings in the dark with air circulation but not blowing on the spog. There are a bunch of threads here on drying, assuming your wife will not let you smell up the fridge for low-and-slow. Check any of my harvests for details. Here's the summary post for reference.

When the stem bends hard without snapping, put it in the jar and burp every 6 hours or so for the first day, then 8 hours, then daily while you slowly get down to 62% on your newly purchased hygrometer. Slower is better than quick when preparing for the cure. Gets rid of the chlorophyll smell and taste that way.

Also, how to calibrate a hygrometer:
Table salt in a lid or cap (I used the lid from an olive jar). Fill it almost to the top with salt. Add just enough distilled water to make a slurry, with no floating water above the salt. Put the lid and the hygrometer in a zip lock bag, making sure the sensor isn't blocked by the plastic. Seal and wait for the RH to stabilize (at least four hours). It should read 75%. Calibrate or make note accordingly. Done!

my last harvest I hung the old fashioned way... hung them between 9 -13 days before putting into jars...
Buttttt.... then I found the dehydrator to be perfect for preserving the terpenes, colour and FAST!
36 hours on the lowest setting... fill and seal a jar about 2/3 full with a hygrometer and when the RH gets back up over 70(usually a few hours depending on your elevation/climate) put it back in for another hour in the dehydrator... I usually repeat this two or three times...
jarring or curing is SUPER important!! Burp your sealed jar a couple times a day for the first two weeks... rolling the bud gently with the lid off... seal it back up... burp the jars once a day for another week or two and then enjoy that shit! You should try washing your bud as well...

Here is that post... lots to read but if you are going to put this much effort into getting some QUALITY green... don't half ass the ending! Lol!
