Thee Sweet Tooth Auto Extravaganza

I'm about to be involved in a breeding project that needs good photos taken. So I'm actually building an area just for photos my nug of the month should be a great shot.

Sounds like fun to me...good luck :)

Kit wise a 60mm macro (or micro in Nikon speak) lens would, I expect, be one of the most desirable lenses for bud and nug shots at any price and I doubt they are more than a few hundred bucks, maybe even a couple of hundred. A proper macro lens will go 3x closer than your 18-55mm and should deliver top quality results. Worth a thought?

Photo shoot coming with the d5000 I think.

Tonight I used a polarising filter to cut down light reflection on the leaves and improve colour saturation...

ISO 100, f/16, 1.3 seconds......I used a tripod too! :)

Jesus maybe we can swap experience my d5000 shot worse than my phone

If you post an example I'll certainly try to transfer relevant experience over.

A little light reading to start with....the Exposure Triangle

There are only 2 modes on the mode dial that I use....manual (usually marked as M) and aperture priority (usually marked as Av). I suggest you use Av and we'll take it from there.

Kushtie, thank you for that digital photo link. That helps a lot, I just bought a Nikon D3200 and that info is just what i needed.

You are very welcome my friend. Here's a link to another popular site full of excellent photographic tutorials and stuff....Cambridge in Colour - Photography Tutorials & Learning Community

Doubt you'll find anything geared specifically on shooting Cannabis though lol. Hopefully when I grow some nice plants and get experience of shooting them I'll be able to do one here....I'm just getting to know the subject matter.

Ah I will read that today just woke up.

Wanted to invite you guys.
