In my experience, 5 gallon pots or smarties are good for around 80-90 grams and are pretty maxxed out in my opinion. My last 3 plants were SO matted up with roots they were having a hard time draining from just feeding them. AND... those were 5 gallon smart pots that air prune, I couldn't even imagine if they were plastic. If you are looking for QP size plants(inside), get 7's or above, these plants LOVE the room and the WIDER the pots the better! Outside, I dig 25-30 gallon holes or bigger and 2.5 - 3 feet around. IF I could grow them bigger than 6 feet(AREA limited, 6.5 feet MAX which I usually hit with one or two a season) easily 50 gallon holes and 8-10 foot SUPER monsters. These plants can look like orange tree structure/branches, with MASSIVE cola's.... ONE can only admire and appreciate what we have and I'm thankful my little spot has been a GEM for years now. Back on track(freakin' GOD bud Rosin), I've grown with 3 gallon all the way up to BIG holes in the ground and 3 gal smarties are good for right around 50-60g, 5 gal 80-90, 7 you should hit a QP or more in a solid environment with no big issues. In my example, if I were to bunch up 6 3 gallon, I would shoot for 40g a plant or so on the low end, and hit a half elbow no problem. I just did 3 5's and all plants were in the 80g range with budget LED's. I wanted to do 3 5's again(60 days then FLIP), but my Bubbleberry didn't make it so it's 2 plants in 7's probably 70 days, I figure if I popped another I'm behind with one plant, this way it's still a week or so wait so it's a WASH. I haven't done 10's inside, I'm going to have to ponder that notion for a moment and check the dimensions and or data.
I finally pulled that BD and she was UGLIER and stinkier than ever. I forgot my camera, so I took a few phone pics but there absolute garbage and the phone is old and doesn't want to email them to myself. I can do it another way, but it's been hectic lately and HERE come the holiday's and just haven't had time. That freakin' BD was DIRTY too(washed her up ALL clean now), figures.. DIRTY... UGLY... and STINKY, and Heavy. I've grown a few pounder plants and SHE's definitely there and probably OVER. Every single bud is just flopping over with weight(the tiniest of branches just parallel with the ground). I know it's quite a bit just by washing it too, took well over an hour(1.25 definitely NOT 1.5 hours) and most of my plants that are in the half-3/4 lb range, take about 45-50 minutes with a nice prepared routine. The resin from the plant gave me welts on my forearm, always irritates my skin but these were pretty bad. This plant wasn't smelling very much and AS soon as I chop it the sucker JUST blew up the entire area! WHAT a ride with this pony...
