We've had this conversation :) Virginia and West Virginia are two different states, I live in VA not WV.
I remember :)

I can’t say the word Virginia, without mentally bursting into song! I will say before I met you I thought he was singing about west Virginia.
And yes, LKA is the 'place code' for Lake Anna (as seen in my avatar). Lake Anna is a man-made lake built in the 70's to cool the North Anna Nuclear Power Station (true story). Now you know the REAL secret behind why my plants grow so quickly ;)
Omg I thought that was your fence! And you had it personalise coz your name is Luke Kai Anderson.

Does this mean you don’t identify by the name I made up for you?!

Sounds like you have a failure to communicate. lol CL🍀

So much anticipation building when you go through the first 4 pages all at once! That Colombian Gold was a winner at my house and it's one of the few where it's all gone. :)

Mine vegged for 79 days and went 62 days in flower (it probably should have gone at least 70) and came in at 221g (outside obviously). Probably would have done better if I had grown it during the summer, but here it was on harvest day in late January.

I'm sure yours will be stunning!

Although that is a snappy name... no.

She's pretty. I'm still hoping they will scrog well. If they go 79 days veg in the RDWC, though, they'll be growing up the stairs!

Did I say I usually get a sprout on the third or fourth day? Well, the third day went by with no sprouts. On the fourth day one of the seeds sprouted. Today is the fifth day and I'm still waiting for more sprouts :nervous-guy: I'm sure they're just waiting to make a grand entrance. I sprayed them today to make sure everything stays moist, then right back under the dome they went.

I put the one that sprouted in her own tray, she looks so small. She has a vented dome for today while I'm dialing in the VPD in the tent. Tomorrow the dome comes off. Hopefully by then she has some company.

VIVOSUN Smart Grow System - Recipe Setup for Colombian Gold RDWC grow

With the VIVOSUN Smart Growing System (SGS) you get real-time feedback on all aspects of your grow: light intensity and spectrum, temperature and humidity, and the air speed both inside and moving out of your tent. But it not only lets you know more, it lets you control more. With the GrowHub Controller, you can change the ventilation, light intensity, and light spectrum inside your tent to create the perfect grow space depending on what you want to grow and what stage of growth your babies are in.

You can do everything the GrowHub Controller can do from anywhere with the @VIVOSUN App. It puts all the data about your environment right on your smartphone. Control your lights, ventilation, and air circulation from an intuitive interface that turns beginners into experts and experts into pros. You can use one of the pre-programmed 'Grow Recipes' or create your own custom recipes. Custom recipes allow you to design your own environment and set your own grow schedule. Either way once you're ready you can just set it and forget it.
Screenshot_20230406_150057_VIVOSUN.jpg

You can set up a new recipe from scratch, or you can copy from an existing recipe (sample photo and auto recipes are provided) and edit it. A Vivosun recipe allows you to define the parameters for the lights, circulation fan, and exhaust fan for three stages of your grow. In the app the stages are named Seedling, Veg, and Flower but you can use them however you need. You set up each component for every stage, starting with the light, then circulation, then duct fan.

For this Sativa grow I've decided to set up two recipes. I'll set up three different stages in each recipe, giving me a six stage Sativa grow.

Recipe#1 - Colombian Gold RDWC Veg - The three stages will be:
  • Seedling - Still in the tray
  • Early Veg - In the RDWC system with no roots in water
  • Late Veg - Roots are in the water
I'll be increasing VPD, circulation intensity and light intensity at each stage. All stages will be a 20/4 light schedule.

Recipe#2 - Colombian Gold RDWC Flower - The three stages will be:
  • Early Flower (Weeks 1-4) - 12/12, 1.1-1.2 VPD - Stretching and stacking
  • Mid Flower (Weeks 5-9) - 11/13, 1.4 VPD - Building buds
  • Late Flower (Weeks 10+) - 10/14, 1.6 VPD - Ripening
This allows me to dial down the RH as I go from a 12/12 to 11/13 to 10/14 light schedule.

When you add a custom recipe, first you name the recipe. Then you start in Seedling stage, setting up lights. The interface will take you through lights, circulation fan, and exhaust fan for seedling stage. Then it will do the same for vegetative stage, and finally for flowering stage.
Screenshot_20230401_165801_VIVOSUN.jpg

Screenshot_20230401_165815_VIVOSUN.jpg

Setting up the Light: In addition to functioning as a timer and allowing you to set up multiple schedules, the Vivosun app allows you to set:
Light Intensity - 1-100% in 1% increments
Light Spectrum - Seedling / Vegetative / Flowering
Sunrise/Sunset - On/Off

I've found that the app may allow you to use these settings, but your light may or may not use them. My AeroLights use all of these settings. The VSF6450 will not go below 40%, and it does not appear that the light spectrum changes. Setting the schedule or intensity > 40% works perfectly, though, as does the sunrise/sunset feature.
Screenshot_20230406_145553_VIVOSUN.jpg

After setting up the light schedule, hit NEXT to be taken to the Circulation Fan settings. The fan can be set from speed 1-10, OFF, or 'Natural'. Natural simulates natural wind, surging to high at times and low at others. You can cycle the fan, or set it differently for different schedules. The circulation fan settings will control the AeroWave E6 that is plugged into the GrowHub.
Screenshot_20230406_145612_VIVOSUN.jpg

Finally you set up the exhaust/duct fan settings. You can set multiple schedules (day/night) and setpoints (temperature/humidity). Or you can set to static setpoints, cycle, etc. I set it up based on humidity mostly, but also set a max daytime (82f) temperature just in case. These settings control the 6" AeroZesh mounted to the top of the tent and pulling from the back-right corner.
Screenshot_20230401_170350_VIVOSUN.jpg

Once the recipe is complete, it'll be shown in your custom recipe library. This recipe can be edited, tweaked, and changed at any time. Best of all it's saved in your library for future use.
Screenshot_20230405_122230_VIVOSUN.jpg

Then it's just a matter of clicking on a stage of the recipe and hitting the 'start' button. The app will ask you for the starting date. Choose today to start immediately, or you can choose any date in the future to schedule the step. You can even schedule multiple steps for the same recipe.

For this grow, I know I want to go from 'Seedling' to 'Early Veg' after 1 week, and to 'Late Veg' two weeks after that. So I scheduled seedling to come on 3 days after putting in the seed, early veg is scheduled for APR 10, and late veg is scheduled for Apr 24. If I want to switch earlier I can. If not, it will automatically step through the stages as scheduled.
Screenshot_20230405_122310_VIVOSUN.jpg

The Vivosun app really walks you through the process and the interface is very intuitive. It took a LOT longer to do this post than it did to set the recipe for this grow. Here's a summary of the veg settings I chose for the recipe 'Colombian Gold RDWC Veg':

I've actually been thinking about this, and I think I've decided to go with 18/6 for veg. I don't really need the extra two hours of DLI so I may as well save the $. I've changed the Colombian Gold Veg recipe as follows:

- Seedling (Seedling)

- Circulation Fan

Well, Day# 6 and I still only have the one sprout:confused: I'm being as patient as I can, but I'm really hoping I get more sprouts today...

Meanwhile, the one sprout is looking good this morning.

I haven't really given it much thought. I've had such good luck with this process I really expected four sprouts by now. I'll leave them alone through the weekend. If there are still no more sprouts by Monday (9 days) I may have to call it and scrap the grow ;( I have other seeds but I'm really looking forward to the Colombian Gold. I'm still hoping for an Easter miracle!
