The Stoner’s Book Report By Deeboy: Perpetual Autos

your way too hard on yourself my friend. :green_heart:

I think hydroguard also kills them and is safe with organics.
But seriously, a good fan does the trick, and gives other benefits at the same time (microfractures). I love solutions that gives multiple benefits, and h202 is right up there. Just a no go for organics, that's all.
I'll go the fan and sticky trap route. Hopefully that will do it.

The fan will help (they can't fly or land in high wind), the traps are just to help identify pests, they'll snag a bunch, but aren't effective means of control (just as a heads up).

@Bill284 is a pro at this stuff, and can probably offer more suggestions!

And I'll stop bombarding your page with posts, sorry DeeBoy :laughtwo:

I'm bombarding again, just...can't...resist

NTH- conversations like this is what makes this a great place. Know what, you already have way more experience with soil than me (unless plant deaths count :laughtwo: ).

We all bring our unique perspectives, which in turn opens up the door for conversations where we all learn. I've lost count of the number of times where I was wrong (one of the reasons where if I'm not 100% sure, I'll tag a fellow grower). And I loved each time it was pointed out that I was wrong, cause it helped me learn more.

I’m with you all the way Amigo. They day you quit learning is the day you start dying.
A good SOB taught me that on one of my first jobs. It has stuck with me through thick and thin.

Hey @DeeBoy hope you are well today my friend.
The h202 will work great on them.
Then fill your pot with fresh coco.
You have a good 3" missing there.
Then your traps and a big fan.
Diatrametrious earth on top afterwards.
Happy growing Amigo.

Stay safe
Bill

I stopped by the hydro store on the way home last night to see what they had for fungus gnats. They had one product with a small % of garlic oil and it was $57! They had another one that was mostly concentrated citric acid for $37. I bought the citric acid product. Diluted it in a spray bottle and soaked the top coco of all of the plants. Noticeably less gnats today. If they start increasing I'll go with the hydrogen peroxide.

There are so many products available for gnats. From the less expensive to the outrageously priced.
I’ve found that Mosquito Bits are very effective OMRI approved and work with my Geoflora nutes.
I can get them locally at the hardware stores in the season but do to my poor planning I had to order last time off the Zon but were still very reasonably priced.

Good to know it works well with Geoflora. I love that stuff!

I really hope that I like the smoke from this Toof Decay, because she likes my set up better than any I've grown in my short gardening career. Born October 7th.

Adult fungus gnats like the sweet smelling plants, but their evil larvae like all my plants! Everyone got a nice hydrogen peroxide treatment and then I added dry coco and mixed in diatomaceous earth. I hope this does it or I’ll have thousands of gnats shortly…

Omg motherfuckers!

My first grow I had wriggly things. My struggle is so very real. It’s super annoying. My winter grows defs have less cooties.

Do you know what? I didn’t even know what a gnat was till I joined. I think I thought it was a gnu. And tbh I didn’t really know what a gnu was. I actually thought it was a type of beaver.

Sorry to hear about the gnats, DeeBoy. It looks like you're handling it okay. Here's hoping they dissipate quickly.
