The Proper Way To Water A Potted Plant

I'm just starting after a 30year brake from growing outdoor and I'm going LED so all is a bit of a learning curve my uptake of information isn't as good as it used to be plus not so quick on the keyboard(phone) but thanks to you and every one else on here i should be ok much appreciated
Hi Mort. as you can see I did what Emilia mentioned with the link. You can also make it a favorite and call it up when you like. I did that but the link is more helpful I think. I'm a year back from 30 years off as well. Had a public transportation job with drug testing. It's good to be back! It's good to see you here too! Cheers! Roots!

Cheers man its not just soaking some seeds you saved from weed you bought putting it
in some dirt or small pot to take up the bush the main worry was some one pinching them didn't give a shit about cops and didn't use ferterlisers just water from creek way easier

Haha things are different now. I look at every seed and see $2400.00 usd. I don't sell it at all but save that from the dispensary. That's potential too I seldom get 6 oz from them but sometimes and it's a goal to beat.

Great read Emilya thanks heaps I'm trying a no-till soil and the way i see it is more of a living soil and was wondering would this(watering/up potting) still apply with this soil I've been told it's the best way to start easier any advice please
Absolutely it applies Mort... think of no till as just another container of soil, complete with a rhizosphere ready to go. Once you merge that soil with the soil of your transplanted plant, you have a living container of soil.

Some soil can be used over and over again simply by adding back some supplements. Other soil, usually those with high peat or spagnum content will have problems after a few uses because the peat and moss will break down rapidly and drive the soil acidic. At some point these soils need a very thorough flushing to get all of that debris out of there, or a return trip through a compost pile for a month or so. You can't just reuse soil over and over again without also doing some work to it.

A great read on a Sunday morning. It was exactly what I was looking for. I am helping my daughter set up to grow a little medicinal flower but she wants to grow in dirt. Any of my experience is with hydro. My experience with growing in dirt comes from picking seeds out of a bag of Colombian Gold and throwing them out the window on some logging road. Funny thing is that they sometimes would sprout and grow. I will keep reading and learning.

Hi emz I'm thinking about going to soil instead of coco I'm wondering if you feed nutes every water or 1 on then next flush??

Love it that you are quoting my bit on nutes in your signature... thank you! Almost every soil nutrient line follows this water/nutes/water/nutes strategy. The reason is that soil acts as a buffer and holds the nutes that were not able to be taken up by the plant. When you water the next time with just pH adjusted water, it gives those collected nutes a second chance to become mobile and be able to be used by the plant and it cleans out the soil for the next round.

Ok cool thanks Ill be changing to soil Monday was wondering all the new clones I have are in little half litre bags with coco I'm just about to up pot can I change to soil now?? I'll be using Canna soil..... I actually think they are even smaller than half liter pb bags and what kind of yield difference will I expect to have?? Going from coco to soil?? Thanks Emily

Sorry btw for asking on this post I can't private message yet :)

They will handle the transition without a problem. There are many people who mix a little coco in with their soil. Good luck with your grow!
