I know there's various ways. But for you guys how do you like to germinate your seeds. Has anyone ever just put a seed in a cup of water and let the tap root come out that way?

Not to hijack, but may I ask which ones? I wonder if there is a landrace thread. If not, some one should start it.

I think alot of it may depend on the strain, my white widow and thc bomb loved being topped, on the otherhand i have seen a few journals on here were their autos slowed down quite a bit after topping. Im new to growing autos and growing indoors so thats just my opinion.✌I have 3 Short Rider that autos in veg. Two are 16 days old and 1 is 6 days behind. The older pair have been topped at the 4th node and are being started on their LST. They definitely seem to have slowed after this stress.......is this normal? Just for this strain or all autos? Any advice would be appreciated ......I'm leaving the younger plant completely to see the difference under the same exact conditions.
All of this is relatively new to me as well Tom. I started my autos because I thought I was going to have limited time and space as these are supposed to complete flowering in 44 days..... we'll see about that LOL. Turns out that my significant other was completely on board and I could have gone with pheno's. I guess we all love that sense of accomplishment . . This all being said, and being that this is the auto topping thread, I thought that I would put it out here that Short Rider Autos do seem to stunt after topping . I am also doing LST on them.I think alot of it may depend on the strain, my white widow and thc bomb loved being topped, on the otherhand i have seen a few journals on here were their autos slowed down quite a bit after topping. Here is a picture of one of them at 15 days.
I guess only time will tell.
