The Mars Hydro FC-E4800 Sponsored Grow Journal: 3 Classic Strains In Soil

Light looks great mate that alcapulco gold seems to be a really popular strain on here I'm pulling up chair for sure
I credit @West Hippie in advance for all of our medicinal benefits of this strain post harvest...he speaks so highly of AG. Sounds like you need to place another order Ljb

yeah, the AG is meant to be the original classic. I'm soooo excited :cheesygrinsmiley:
Glad to have you on board, thanks mate.

It was how "highly" west hippy spoke of the strain that convinced me to try it. It's pretty difficult choosing what to grow next, as there's so many options. So start with the recommendations.
It's meant to be a good all-rounder.
There's not one day I don't reach for my Jack Herer jar. My favourite strain so far. Good luck on this grow, mate.
Cool, I've never tried it, is it a mellow buzz or heavy stone and thanks mate
Im in for the ride and got my AG going to. ;)
Thanks for joining mate. Another AG on the grow, how long are you planning on vegging her?

Well its been about 27 days now since she popped and topped her twice.
Another 2/3 weeks i think , she needs up potting to.
Then its of to mars ;)

It has got a great powerful buzz that works night and day. It puts a massive smile on my face. I tend to select my favourites due to a strain's smell and taste. Jack Herer has a very complex pungent smell that initially made me think of wet paint in a weird delicious kind of way.
Sadly, ever since I got Covid a couple of months ago my weed and my plants smell nothing to me. I can't smell a thing when I dunk my head in my jars, or when I touch my ripe buds and smell my fingers - nothing! Since that happened I tend to not smoke the JH as much. It feels like a waste of my finest when I can't taste what I'm smoking, and I enjoy my other strains almost just as much as the JH at the moment. Even my least favourites get rolled up every now and again, and I don't mind them so much now. I'll save my JH until my nose works again.

I've transfered them into moist Cotton pads to finish them off..
That's really it for today. Hopefully I will be sticking them into their first home tomorrow night .

I hope the AG isn't exactly like the Classic which had plenty of seeds. They can leave those out.

Cool, I love the smell of paint.. sorry to hear about your loss of smell. I hope it returns soon; that could be quite dangerous when you think of it, if there was a gas leak and you couldn't smell it  cheers for stopping by mate

Thanks Bill, it's just a cheap microscope thing. But it works pretty well, for now anyway. Thanks for joining in

So I take it, it wasn't top shelf quality back in the day:laugh: I heard that you lot got something called brick weed in the early days. was it just compressed plant matter?
Thanks for popping in..

For back then we considered it the good stuff. Panama Red was another big favorite. I don't think there was any weed without seeds back then. At least I never got any.
Brick Weed.... lol. Yeah, Stems, Seeds, Buds, Colas, some leafage all smash together into bricks. Made it easier for them to smuggle across the boarder. Even after you broke the brick up all the buds were flat as a pancake. Usually tasted like dirt. Sometimes you got lucky & got really good weed. But, Most the time not.

Cool, thanks for the tag I'll definitely be tuning in to watch the operation.

So there could be anything pressed into those blocks; bugs and everything. No bud washing back then i take it.
all we used to get was hash, sometimes in inch diameter balls. I asked a lad "why is it rolled into little balls?" he said" it makes it easier to hide on a person"
I hope he was joking

I never found a bug; but they were probably in there. Hash was made in a machine called an ISO 2. Looked like a shop vac in a way. They still sell them today; but the price is way high. Back then (1974ish) they were about $100. About $1000 now. I'd like to find a way to hook a chiller / Ice Maker to a washing machine to make hash. Kind of dump in the weed, turn on the machine & come back to collect the crystals in an hour.
He probably wasn't joking about the Hash Balls.... lol. Mine always came in blocks. Usually, Blond Lebanese or the famous Black Afghanistan Hash that came in Gold Foil & was stamped "Afghanistan Kills Russia" with a pic of a machine gun. Damned, got me feeling like listening to some Jimi Hendrix talking about this.... lol. "Purple Haze"
