The Legion Of Doob: Perpetual Chaos

Yesterday I got the clones all transplanted and ready to go in their final homes. They seem happy and healthy this morning. Running two tents in the summer is going to be an issue. I finally have to redo my exhaust system today for sure or they’ll all probably melt tonight into a puddle of rosin. I’ll let them grow into their pots on fairly low light for a few days and then put on the scrog net and crank things up to 11.

To slow growth, or to encourage stretch as a prelude to training them for screen duty? I liked a bit more distance between "ground level" and the screen when I did it (only had access from the front) than some seemed to prefer, and wanted to have a single stem growing up and then branching at (immediately underneath) the screen instead of multiple branches growing from the lower region.

The lights on low to keep the temperature down until I redo the vents. I’m waiting at least 10 days to flower them so the roots can get established in the new pots. I have an easy watering system so access isn’t much of an issue. I think my screen is about 8”-10” above the soil in my other tent.

I was using hydroponic methods, and only had one plant per "cubicle," so access for watering wasn't my problem - it was getting my hands/arms fully under the screen area in order to move tips/branches around just about every day. But the single plant thing meant... well, you'll have an easier time of it, because you'll have a shorter training period. Faster growth, too, probably, because I was just using 400-watt HPS (one per eight square foot space) instead of more efficient/powerful lighting. Plus, I was kind of lazy ;) .

Starting to get beat up a bit by the heat, today is the start of week 7 so I think two more to go.

Running two tents in the summer isn’t something I should do again, I got these on low light/heat. Hopefully they’ll be good for a couple more weeks then I can ramp up the light.

Is that all heat burn? Seems like it's just the top leaves, which would make more likely to be light.
I'm sure like always it's a combo of reasons, totally could be the light as most of the damage is in the center where the the lights are strongest. It didn't start until the heat wave came in so I attributed it to that, there were a couple 100+ days before I redid my vents. I also toned down the MegaCrop a bit to about 6 grams per gallon, cause like @FelipeBlu mentioned I'm using an awful lot of the stuff and it's only got about two weeks of life left.

I'd suggest you look into CO2 supplementation to help the plants thrive in the heat and use more of that light energy, but then you'd probably start tripping over all the bud that began piling up, lol.
I looked into it a bit and the warnings scared me off. My lights run at night due to the heat, so the room never gets a chance to cool off during super hot days. It’s not really a big deal if it’s one or two days but two weeks of 95° was a problem.

Now though I think the leaf issue is potassium deficiency probably caused by build up of nutes locking it up, I do feed a ton. It’s got about 12 days until I planned to harvest so I’m just going to ride it out with low nutes these next couple waterings.

Squishing day! Only got a couple pics, not to scrape it all up. Think I probably squished an oz or so over 6 pressings. Some strains just don’t yield much and others a ton but there is other stuff that goes into it as well. I have learned a lot and have a very repeatable process but it still comes out different every pressing.

I squished this at 200° “Bottle style” pre-pressed in 90 micron bags for 3 1/2 minutes with a 1 1/2 minute preheat, slowly increasing the pressure over time until the last 20 seconds where I do maximum pressure. I used to use as much pressure as possible right away but have since learned that too much pressure too fast lowers yields a lot.

I’ve been using the Divine Tribe v4 with a hydrotube attachment, highly recommend it for anyone looking for a torch free way to dab. Gives huge reliable hits and is super easy to clean.

Don't get trapped in a small, airtight grow room in which a large, unregulated CO2 tank has been allowed to completely dump its contents... and then decide to sleep on the floor, after turning off all the circulation fans ;) .

Seriously, though, between the sketchy setups I've seen over the last 30 years and the lack of sensationalist media stories about tragedies caused by CO2 in cannabis grows, I'm guessing that it's statistically far less dangerous than having one's clothing dry cleaned.

But you mentioned that the heat was unusual for your area. If you're not blasting them with enough light to be approaching and/or surpassing the maximum amount they can process under ~400 PPM CO2, and not averaging at least 86°F during lights-on, it does seem like a needless expense, and probably wouldn't result in a great deal of improvement.

It can harm a person, though, if the concentration is extreme. And be unpleasant if the concentration is merely "way too f*cking high" and one is in the space for a prolonged period of time. See:

I understand that MC has Silica in it, but maybe a little more would give you the edge in the heat. I had very serious heat problems this last season. It went over 100 one day, and was regularly above 90. I had fox tailing, but the plants made it out, yield was pretty good.

How are you doing? Family doing well? Hope so
