The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

Hi Sue

you should have a look at juicing leafs without heating as medicine.
I am not to familiar with it but there are some great vids about it.
Without heating you get the acid form of THC -> THCa and CBDa ect with great results as medicine.

It is some time ago but I try to find some links.

Daily Update: Dark Devil Auto - Day 73

Standard maintenance upon opening the tent:
- Dark Devil got her daily 1/4 turn (actually made that a 1/2 turn today because it gave her better placement under the light).
- All reservoirs were topped off.
- SWICK tray plants were all droopy, so they were removed from their risers and nestled down into the perlite for an overnight slow drink.

The Cheese Candy is certainly looking alert and ready to go today. :laughtwo:

The Devil is cranking it out. Still pushing out new pistils.

I have to end with a bit of leaf porn. What caught my eye was the definition of the flat trichomes that cover every inch of the plant, boldly on display on this leaf. Sweet.

I have the shelf assembled and the trays I plan to use for germinating all set up. When the light arrives I'll move it in and plant some seeds. Tomorrow I do T8s.

This is pretty exciting guys. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's all going to come together right on time. It's going to mesh beautifully with the beginning of drenches and sprays. Meant to be.

I'm riding a nice optimistic wave this morning. I hope this post finds your day wandering along your own happy path. Take the time to spread that joy I know you can feel bubbling up. Everything's better with a bit of joy tossed into the mix.

Thanks for stopping by this morning. I'm a little tipsy yet with the thrill that Dale lived. That particular joy is coloring my entire existence today. This was the closest he came to date, and the relief in the medical team is a thing to behold. We were all laughing yesterday that this is Dale and you'd think we would be used to this by now.

Life is sweet.

When I started this drive to mimic DrZiggy I knew it meant I was passing for now on a big, leafy bush that would allow me to play with juicing. We talked about it as a family and decided to explore other edibles and work out dosages for each of them. I still hope to get a bigger light that will let me do something in a big pot. It may have to wait until I'm well stocked and have the time to run a couple monster bushes in a more conventional way. Then again, my sense is that Ziggy's method is a perfect fit for my family needs as well as my personality. This feels so natural a progression to me it surprises me now and then.

When you watch it all slip smoothly in place, even given the crisis of Dale's health issues, you have to shake the head in wonder.

Sue, my SWICK plastic pots on the perlite have their roots coming out of the bottom of the pots. How do you deal with this? Just let them grow or cut them off, or transplant to a larger pot or ???

Hugs to you and yours. :circle-of-love:

How exciting Tranquilgreen. Watch for explosive growth from this point. The roots exiting the pot are water seekers. You have the option of leaving them, which can get messy after harvest, to just snap them off. It won't have any effect on the plants. I'll have to give your journal a check. You have pictures?

I took a bunch of pictures yesterday but have not uploaded them yet. I will get to that today since I also have transplanted three I had in the DWC to soil and SWICK. They are looking poor but I will keep track of them with photos and see if they improve. Thanks for your answer. Looks like I will be cutting off those roots.
:thanks: :Namaste:

How many inches is that sweet devil, Sue? Is that a dwarf auto? Thinking of something different to try....

I have to share this bit of irony. My BIL lives in the apartment below ours, and he grows his own too. He refuses to do anything about odor control. His plants are growing in the closet space right below my own tiny closet. I have just invested in a top-quality carbon filter and vent fan. When I open my front door and enter my apartment I am enveloped by the sweet smell of the White Widow crop growing in his apartment. Isn't life grand? :laughtwo::green_heart:

That would bother me SS. His stinky plants stinking up your space...not cool SS.Can he not get a fan /filter for them? If my place was like that I could never have company....everyone would be asking what stinks...Have a great day SS.:circle-of-love:

This is a small building Duggan, and the only place you can smell it is in our apartment. He's my brother-in-law, but I have no influence over him. Believe me, I've tried.

Sad truth Duggs, I haven't had company here in almost nine months. Geez, I need to do something about that. I hadn't realized how isolated it had gotten.

time for a 420 party:cheertwo:

There are few things more enjoyable than sitting crossed-legged on the bed typing away on the iPad, loading photos in for the update, singing away at the top of my lungs to the smooth stylings of Boz Scaggs pouring out of the headphones.

Slept in this morning. Actually, I woke at 6:30, opened the tent to peek in and get started, laid down on the bed to just look in for a moment and woke up at 9:30. :laughtwo: So I'm a bit caught up on sleep. Just a bit. This habit I've developed of staying up until dawn (yes, the sun was actually peeking at the horizon line as I finally closed my eyes!) has to be modified. Hahaha! I couldn't type that in without laughing out loud. :laughtwo:

Life is sweet. I'm enjoying my late nights. Gonna hold on to them as long as I can. Hmmmm. My mother was a night owl too. Forgot about that.

Enough rambling. Back to the business at hand. Oooooo, music change. "Listen, when all of this around us will fall over, I tell you what were gonna do.." Lost in the music. Turn that up a bit. There, that's better. "I will shelter you."

Later guys. Hey, take a minute and hug somebody. Yeah, right now. Surprise someone. Hahaha! I'm alone,so I'll do a virtual one. Ahhhhhh! Did you feel that? Good. :laughtwo::Love:

luv ya sue ya just made me smile for the first time today

Well then Bear, my plan is working. Here's a special hug just for you. Mmmmmm.

I'm famous in my corner of paradise for those hugs. I sometimes get stopped on the street. :laughtwo:

Morning Susan!
This is a great way to start the day! I do the exact same thing. Minimal clothes, headset, coffee and bong in hand. The peace and serenity that comes with it is priceless... :thankyou::420:

Love you too Pigeons. :laughtwo:

Maybe we'll start a movement.

Daily Update: Dark Devil Auto - Day 74

Still lost in the music guys. Ahhhh. So if I get distracted you know it's because there's some ridiculously beautiful ballad that I probably just belted out on the street. Apparently I have no inhibitions when music enters the picture. Hahaha! Ooooo, Cat Stevens. Be right back. This one absorbs me.

Ok, on to the update. I've already shared my passing out for an additional three hour's sleep. I laughed when I woke and realized what'd happened. Then I headed to the shower and got distracted by the HB soil tote. I'd popped it open at about 3AM and realized that I'm feeling no heat from it at all. Not good, because I'm fairly certain there should be some heat radiating from it, a breath of life, if you will. After thinking about it I decided to give it a bit more water, since it's a bit dry.

That's what I found myself doing even before I showered. This is the hand of a seriously addicted gardener who isn't getting enough time with her charges. Mixing soil first thing in the morning. Life is truly sweet, eh? :laughtwo:

I'll check it again tonight. I know the room is warm enough to keep this batch viable. Is there anything else I could do to get that battery going, or am I ok with this for now?

image26443.jpg

Now, into the tent.

image26444.jpg

As always, a 1/4 turn to the Devil. I topped off the SWICK tray but left the Devil's reservoir for tomorrow. Then I shifted the youngsters around.

Ziggy, I'm noticing that the pots sitting closer to the edges wick better. Are you noticing the same thing? I remember you commenting that your plants to the edges were performing better. Could this be the reason? I have no explanation for why that is, but I'll pay closer attention going forward.

The youngsters are coming along nicely. Time to pick out new seeds.

image26445.jpg

Every pot has roots beginning to exit each and every drain hole.

image26448.jpg

The real winner in this race to vigorous growth is the Cheese Candy growing beside the Dark Devil in the LOS no-till. At 23 (?) days she has the thickest and healthiest stem and just look at her! She's really starting to take off now.

image26447.jpg

image26446.jpg

Time to pick out another seed for here too, because the Dark Devil is getting close.

image26449.jpg

image26450.jpg

Still more pistils pushing their way out. Hold me back guys. I want to give her all the time I can. You can see she's still swelling. Sweet. :slide:

I realized today I can't find my loupe. Maybe that's my cue to buy a better one. I need to place an order to Amazon for my brother. Sounds like a great opportunity to slip a new magnifier in there.

Then again, trichome change is the least of my concerns. I'm trying to train myself to be able to read when my plant is ready. Good LOS and HB plants don't do that the same way other mediums may, so maybe pass. Not like I haven't spent enough money this month, eh? :laughtwo: I still need to total all those purchases up. (Keep breathing Girl)

One last peek in. Within days this is going to look so different it'll be shocking. :laughtwo::green_heart:

image26458.jpg

"Never thought I'd fall so easily." How did I take so long to discover Boz Scaggs? Unbelievable!

Sorry, slipped there. I guess you've picked up on the fact that joy is kind of out of control wherever I go today. (Is such a thing even possible? I think not.) You should give it your best shot to try to match this incredible output of joy. Think of how your day will go if you can? So get out there and live as joyfully as you can. I just got to the hospital so I'm going to go and dump all this passion all over my baby.

See you all around the threads.

:Namaste:

"Something in the way she woos me " Ahhh, we've progressed to the Beatles love songs. Such a romantic fool. :battingeyelashes: That means James Taylor's up next. Yeah.

How many inches is that sweet devil, Sue? Is that a dwarf auto? Thinking of something different to try....

She's not a dwarf MassMedMan, just stunted by a combination of too cool temps in the first couple weeks and the 11/13 light schedule the tent is on. It'll be interesting to see what difference having proper environmental control in place makes. If you check out Ziggy's SWICK trays they run the gamut in size. I don't know if there's even any way to predict what a given seed will do under this set up. That mystery, magnified over many, many plants is part of the appeal to me.

Better late than never on the Boz Scaggs.. My wife and I got into collecting vinyl about 6 months ago when someone gifted us a record player and some old records.. Never been the same. Music just doesn't sound as good, as it does coming off a vinyl record.. the love and care that went into mixing a album, playing it cover to cover. We have all of Boz Scaggs records.. People just give them away, its a shame because there is so much music that was never digitized(and who cares digital sounds like poo poo anyway!).

We're a boz scaggs family :) Want a record that will blow your mind? Get yourself War - All Day Music and let it spin cover to cover.. Easily a top 5 record of all time and no one has heard it(well a few have).
