Beautiful smeegs :hugs:

It's going to be another scorcher today, those clouds must come sooner rather later. How was the Xmas for everyone.
Smoke, eat and and be merry it was and I hope it was the same for y'all.

So Im sure you've either smoked or grown Shiva Shanti aka Garlic Bud, I smoked some bout 2 months ago and after 3-4 I got a good hard body stone which lasted 10-15 min I reckon. Then it mellowed out to energetic buzz but there was that faint tingle of the full body stone lurking.

The SS is a hybrid with a tangy, pungent garlic odor with an underlying sweet skunky smell.

I got 35 f1s from a local grower I made friends with cpl months ago..

So I planted 14 seeds roughly end of October. I planted 6 in total 3x Indica leaning and 3x Sativa-ish, 2 males were plucked and 6 others went to a good home of friend whose inter has peaked in cannabis and its uses.

So these are my 3 indica leaning ladies, all fem as far as I can see, they've been in their final homes since 12/18.
Soil is a mix of equal parts top soil, compost, Kraal manure and the various amendments.
They are all approaching knee height which I'm chuffed about...lol
I'm having to water almost thrice daily now due to the heatwave we are having.
Hoping to get the shade netting over after NYE as the storms are heavier this year and hail is a looming threat....

It covers the range of creepies I'm interested in targeting.....hahah

Have a blessed day ladies n gents.....

Hey smeegs, how are things down there being legal and all?

Morning mr.Fish if I were to be honest with you it's changed for the better/worse all depending on who you ask....?

The social media aspect of it has exploded and we had our 1st Cannabis Expo last weekend but there was only cannabis related products but no cannabis or seed was allowed.
Folks are still getting arrested daily for growing/consuming/carrying cannabis but because of social media and the ruling of 18th September we now have legal standing/foot to fight from.

A lot of folk are worried cause of so much interest that's being showed in South Africa from abroad and already the money from investors is flowing in.
Everything positive from the change in legislation is being celebrated by those outside investors or those who have established seedbanks locally via international relations.

Sadly as its a recurring theme within South Africa as with the rest of the world it's about who commands the top dollar that plays the fiddle...

The feeling within the local community of growers I communicate with is the same shared feeling of why do we need foreign investment for a plant that by law we can grow as much as we want of, we are just not allowed to sell it.
So many of us fully support a share/barter/trade agreement and it works everyday in front of my eyes but it's not allowed to on social media.

But the need to keep it local is kept at bay by those with financial gain and the men in blue who stand gain financially from illegal raids...

I grow for myself so I don't pay heed to outside politics or the petty bickering of social media among growers.........haha

Love outdoor growing :)
Stoned bunny?!? Animals do love weed :)

Yay love the girls growing in the sunshine am a bit jelly it's a real scorcher down there at the moment brrrr. The girls are looking awesome !! You are going to knock it out of the park this round my friend :slide:

We were sitting down to Xmas lunch and I mentioned to my brother and sis-in law how I'd swop snow for sunshine anytime this summer and they both agreed......haha. It's been a truly hot summer though so far.....

Hopefully it will work itself out to fruition for everyone Smeegs. I would welcome money coming into the country all day long. Sounds good lol.

I totally agree with money coming into the country, but the main issue of content is that our local cannabis entrepreneurs are being shunted to the side and not being given an opportunity to represent themselves @cannabisexpo because the smallest stall was $4500 which is not pocket change to some sadly but really deserve the chance to come out and show we can be self sufficient without monies from abroad.....

It's a whinge/gripe that has no end on a daily basis on social media and more negativity with the local community as knowledge/idiocy comes together.
For me personally I don't stray far from my garden keep me sane.....lol

That is the fear here if we do go legal big business will step in and take control and leave folks out in the cold. It's a legit gripe/whine lol.

With my outdoor plant, I put fox urine around to fend off rabbits. It attracts deer though. Mine was right next to the house so I wasn’t real worried about deer, but I put some scrapings from a bar of ivory soap out there anyway. Lol.

Yeah here in SA it's a bit more complex because very poor communities have for years taken the risk of growing to provide the local and international market with cannabis. They get screwed over by the cops and the buyers. Imagine getting sprayed with glyphosates over your whole house and garden by a crop duster on a monthly bases only to sell your flower at $0.05 cents per gram and it's resold at massive mark ups?
Now that it will finally be legal and these communities can live in peace and make a good living, big business is going to come in and smash the market. They will be relegated to tourism income mostly.
One upside is that they are starting to give out permits to traditional healers (who are called Sangomas here) for growing on large scale for prescription. They might be able to get a foot in the door by being able to set up before the big companies do.
Crazy thing is some of the communities are on incredibly fertile land and the weather is mostly suited for growing so they could pump out top shelf outdoor with just watering and some teas. Who wouldn't want to smoke organic cannabis grown almost in the wild with pure natural goodness?

As long as they allow us to grow for ourselves, I'm happy on the sidelines.......haha

Me too.
So in my little city it is legal but not commercial. You cannot buy only 'gift' up to one oz. I can grow up to 2oz per person in my house. It works well for me wife and I. I find in Denver when I go, people like the convenience of commercially available, I find it boring. I would rather trade a 1/4 for a 1/4 with another grower. But such is the way of modern times I guess.

Who wouldn't want to smoke organic cannabis grow almost in the wild with pure natural goodness?

This is truth beyond truth. Count me in.
:Namaste:
