Good morning everyone I trust y'all been keeping well.
@MrSauga you are correct I have been a trifle busy.....haha
I do apologise but I've been running round, attending to life's hiccups trying to get myself ready for this summer that's upon me.... It's actually been rather interesting watching canna developments unfolding around the country...
There is still 1 or 2 cases of arrests being made by over-zealous men in blue but gone are the days of persecution on a continuous basis......
So if you look at the last pics I posted against the ones today you will see the girls are doing rather well, they are all flowering but will start revegging soon I hope see if they turn into some monsters hopefully.
I fed them with 5ml biobizz for some nitrogen as I want to nudge them closer to revegging.....
#Quads and G2.
So this is my original #quad. I should of kept her indoors longer so the side branching and that had more time to grow out before she went into flowering mode but she'll reveg and that's when I think I'll start worrying how to deal with the branching....
So two weeks ago I was adjusting the arms against better judgement and I split the stem right down the middle, needless to say I was not at all happy. So I used some aloe leaf and French ticklers and she honestly hasn't skipped a beat yet until yesterday when I couldn't stay my hands and decided to test the pliability of one arm........" snap " needless to say once again I was not impressed....haha.
Anyway so now I'm just going to leave her alone and let her do her thing. I took a shot of 1 of the arms just to show you how the arms are stacking....
#Quad2....
So this little lady has also stolen my heart, this lass I've let her be for the most part since the initial trim I gave her also should of kept her indoor longer but we live and learn don't we.....
When I noticed her throwing pistils out like crazy about 4 weeks ago I give her a last trim job ( what I've learnt from everyone) although not everyone agrees about it.... I trimmed all the major fan leaves off as the bud sites had enough new growth to power new growth...
You can see I was unsure of how to deal with the 1st set of upright branches as they were stretching the most as she started flowering so I bent them down and used the ever handy French ticklers ( while I'm typing this I must check to see its not cutting into the branch......
But if I'm to be honest this is my favourite and I'm not being biased as #quad1 I went in newty style but didn't take into account the arms being so stiff so I'm leaving this as she is until I see signs of her revegging then I'll repot her into her final home maby....
Can any of my #quadmentors don't mind having a look as I'd really appreciate your guys n gals feedback as both these girls are almost 4 months old can you believe it.....
So daddyswoon moment over the final in my trio of " Grannies balls " is G2
So G2 has also been a royal trooper through out my never ending quest at trimming branches/arms so I trimmed her up and left the growth tips and supporting leaves to power her growth. She is also going to be a hopeful wannabe beast as she is in a big box and has lots of freedom....
On Sunday my brother called as he wanted to take some cuts off his " Grannys " for clones but I've never tried cloning with a flowering plant only off a vegging plant and that's been my only experience with cloning and I got 7/10 that time...
So I took 6 cuts off G2 and pre soaked those coco pops with rainwater until they had absorbed as much as possible then I held the pods and in a swinging motion downwards expelled the excess water and the contents of the pod nearly too.....lol
The cuts I then made a 45' cut and dipped in aloe sap and popped them into the coco pops in seedling trays and into my humidity box. So far so good and only after I'd completed the whole project I realised I hadn't documented the process to show my brother so he only saw what you are seeing...haha
#Autos.....
Now here is my " Achiles Heel " for some other reason as I've lost most of the ones I planted and I won't lie when I say it's totally perplexing me as my brother is doing rather well with his and mine are wildly nilly as seedlings though....
But I know what my problem is in experimenting with too many things I don't understand about soil and trying to incorporate it into something I don't understand and winging it with what I have learnt in theory but not in practice.
List of things to do today.....
1. Worm farm.......
Anyway so I'm trying out a new seedling mix and so far so good.
