good almost afternoon everybody, I hope you all having a great day. Well those edibles were knock out strength last night, I devoured the wrap and as predicted pg2 never made it as the book was on the floor......

So I've been wondering ( 1 edible this morning ) so my 2 autos, their origin is from a rogue pollination on the farm, so it's got mystery genetics in it. So my brothers transplanted a male he had in a 350+ltr box into a pot and it wilted 2 days and some leaves looked badly burnt but he's fine now. So when my 2 come transplant time I'm going to be comfortable doing...

So at moment they 7 days in their pots just spraying rainwater as my tap water is 8.9 last time I checked ph and last time I saw my pen too...!!! So rainwater and borehole water from the farm and ewc and perlite only for uppot. But I've been interested in los soil and I can't get round to it 100% yet but I can start learning bout AACT and FPJS and such, so I have 2 questions please....
View media item 1542643So this my comfrey, would making an AACT with it and ewc be beneficial in anyway once I repot into ewc from garden which has kitchen scraps only broken down over summer ( green/brown veg no citrus ) should of given comfrey but never thought... And also making FPJS with comfrey and SSTs as I want to apply theory you guys have all shared in your journals with me just on a small scale.....lol

They be in 6hrs full sun and CFL from 4pm till 10am.... But they need to have at least 6 sets of branches before I repot I think....?
Pawpaws and bananas and pumpkin fpjs I can do if I start them off in the next week or so for flowering...???
Any ideas or nugs of knowledge guys gals please even if it's not worthy it may be to me......:thanks:
 
Uhmmm so the only 1's that would have any beneficial use is kelp meal for AACT and top dress, I got barley seeds I can grind and I got bird seed as cover crop if need be, and mycoroot 200ml at repot day..... my smeegol logic says to me that I put together a 30lt batch of ewc and make up some lacto ( learning..:hmmmm: ) and add what I think would help bring that ewc a bit tighter and get some ground barley mix in see if I can get some alfalfa meal or sprout a cpl seeds and chop and work back in befor I repot. Could that work as I'm leaning towards trying that to learn what that mix is going to do and try and grow a girl in that mix and add that mix to my notes for spring/summer time..... It's by no means what I want to make for my first soil attempt come summer but it's a understanding of what I have to hand is going to do when mixed that I'm going to learn from and add that knowledge to Smeegols " precioucisis " soil come summer......:laugh:

Wow. You have a lot going on.

It's all about timing with the males. Pollen does not last too long. If you can dry it out it will keep for half a year I have heard....maybe longer. In the past I have plucked individual male flowers as they opened and kept them in a jar with a loose lid so they don't mold....trust me the pollen will mold... This summe I plan on harvesting pollen by taping or stapling a paper bag over a branch when it begins to flower.... hopefully a couple days will give me more pollen with less effort than the other way. Application is the fun part. I try to tye a string or something to lable the pollinated branch then II take a small paintbrush like you use with watercolor paint. Little dab from the pollen bag and touch the tip to some nice white pistils.... you have to go buzz buzz or it wont work. Thrust me I have made this mistake before. :)

I have no experience with the CS. I am sure there is a recommended abount in parts per million to dose a plant with. You might google around a bit to see what variety there is in products and application strength. I know some people make it with silver thread and electricity... you might be able to use a dissolved solids meter to get an idea of the strength.

Afternoon everyone, so to be honest after doing my excercises and feeling rather stiff and eina I decided to stay in bed and read, right I slept most of the day body must've needed it.
@lazyfish, that's a beautiful state you live in, I lived a bit in V.T cpl years, but now I'm back in South Africa... Could be Australia never been but would love to..... Collecting pollen is new to me so cheers for the info and help.
Never used CS and don't have a meter but got it for free so thought what the heck let's try.
But a ecs pen is on the cards......

Morning @lazyfish, well ain't you lucky having a whole day ahead of you, it's just gone 5:20pm here by me and winter is showing her icy grips throughout the country.
It's more the west/south west/north west of the country that's been affected by the water shortage this past cpl months but it's also winter that the Cape ( province/state ) recieves most of their rainfall but they haven't had an easy time of it. More to do with water mismanagement by our government in abusing our water supplies/lakes that our water comes from.....

An example so 1 of our intrepid government leaders wanted more water from a certain dam which in turn provides a lot of water for farms and locals that use the this particular dam/lake for their livelihood and not to name the towns and city's in this area whose water supply comes from.

So this wonderful fellow payed another wonderful lady in our wonderful local municipalities to open the sluice gates to allow water to fill up the river below as this " Goverment official " has some land that feeds off this river a cpl kilometers downriver 25km away apparently....

Guess who forgot to pay someone to close those same gates..... so now it's almost empty and heading into winter and no water for winter..... the joys of a corrupt country.....

So yesterday I noticed a cpl pollen sacks were opening and the temp last night was a low of 10c so I brought the little man indoors so he doesn't freeze his nanas off...lol

So @lazyfish gave some advice on how to collect pollen and I also read about adding some flour to preserve the shelf life...... So I'm thinking of combining the two methods maby....?? any advice guys n gals....

And I think it's on the 2nd pic I saw that the 1st set of branches has rooted itself, so found that very interesting this morning as I've read about that but never seen it.....

Otherwise the chem fruity is doing well, responding well to the pony tailing that's going on.
And the 2 haze are cracking on, 1 is playing catch up but still tiny though....:high-five:
 
morning @lazyfish, the mom was a haze2.0 auto that got rogue pollination outdoors so the male is haze genetics with an unknown factor, so it makes it more interesting me thinks. Need to have a chat with my brother and see if he has anything going into flower on the farm that I can spread some pollen love on ( hope he's willing to sacrifice a branch or 2 in the name of science ) and get some freebie seeds on the go.... ain't it funny a year back all I wanted to do was grow some smoke, now it's smoke and meds and experiments galore.....:high-five:

Hiya Smeegs, finally was able to get to your Thread via your Signature.. I have had a multitude of problems with this site as it is ever improving... Ehhh its whatever... Anyway, you have an interesting grow going on and I spent about an hour kinda catching up, though when I come late I usually speed read from last to first page LMAO.. I love the stand idea, and the hood.. Are those fans in the hood from a laptop or CPU??? That is what I am currently going to use in one of my two veg rooms... I will be up and running in my permanent indoor grow very soon, for now I am gonna do my one last outdoor grow.. Should yield a hefty amount, uppers of a pound dry per plant.... That will keep me in good smoke while my indoor perpetual takes shape... Green Days to ya and all

So they are both soaking up the last of the afternoon rays, I've been spraying and applying that spray around the edges of the pot, no complaints from them yet....

Then it's chem fruity. 1st is a top shot of pistils but I'm trying to reveg since Saturday when she arrived as I want her to get bigger before I start any tricks...

So I've been trying my hand at ponytailing her and it really works well as the next pic shows cause those 2 branches have really stretched nicely as well as the 2 above are getting their mojo on.
A question I do have though is when taking a cut ( 2 long branches ) I've taken the whole branch as my cut. Is it possible to take your cut off 1 of those branches without doing the whole branch, as if that is possible I'd like to take 2 cuts off each branch and go for clones in soil this time round....??

Wow so the seeds might have auto tendencies?

I have a few auto plants just starting right now. I have not thought of pollinating one. Would it pass on auto traits?

I see I have tried to do this with some heirloom pepper plants that I keep because they are hard to clone for me. It didn't work with a branch partially buried for a half year.

So I think what I meant is in this pic the 2 branches have stretched nicely have their 1st set coming out and I was wondering if you could take your cuts off those instead of losing the whole branch....??

That's what's got me so excited bout the autos cause it's supposed to pass on those traits. I wish for the life of me I could remember whose journal it is cause they took 2 of the same autos but did a staggered start of about 2 weeks I believe and the first auto they sprayed with CS to make pollen and collected it, then applied that pollen to the 2nd auto when it started showing pistils, it worked 100% made fem autos....

So mr.Fish is that something that might appeal to your nature as an upcoming experiment....???
Cause if my CS experiment works and makes seeds, then I'm ordering a 5 pack GG autos and 2 of those is purely to make seeds, I have to try it......

Imagine if it works, boom unlimited autos for your I between periods......let ask a question or 2...??
