hypokalaemia
What did you call me? Just kidding Odjob. Thanks for the response. I can never get the balance right. I struggle every grow. Have a great evening and keep those little ones cozy.

My one plant is doing the exact same taco-ing. I've tried everything to get her to flatten out but she hasn't yet.
I'm baffled the other plant is fine no taco-ing at all. Its been doing it for a while now.

Ya same here, mines 2 different strains though so I just chalked it up to that. Your Brix is nice and high on those Whales.

Thanks! Weird it's that high after only 4 hrs of lights on. I really wanted to see the calcium line. I think that's where most of my plants problems come from.

Is the doctor in? Hey Geeman one of my little 🐳 has got an issue. Maybe too much calcium? Brix was done after only 4 hours after lights on. I just wanted to see her calcium line. Because I'm getting cupped leaves and some rust spots on her. I raised the light today to see if that's what's cupping her leaves. I up potted them 48 hrs ago but these two symptoms started before the up pot. Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks for any feedback. Have a great evening and stay warm. It's colder than my xwifes heart out there.
2st, were they both just uppotted, and 2nd, if it started in the small pot it could very easily be a VPD thing if this one had lesser roots than the other. It looks like a VPD thing to me. Were they getting really dry in the smaller pots?

My guess is the lights are too strong for her roots, and then VPD spiked. Combine that with good calcium (borderline too good) and now you have too much food in her for how fast she can photosynthesize, and she could get nute burn, but I'm guessing too much light and she's shut her stomata. What are ambient room temps, leaf temps, and RH.

Also, what size of pots were they in?

Thanks Gee64
The two girls were in 1 gallon pots. Now they are in 3 gallon pots. I don't think they were overly dry in there 1 gallon pots.

I will have to set my alarm early tomorrow and check on the vpd.
Ambient tent temp is 80 with lights on and rh is set to 60% and appears to hold that 60% on my hygrometer.

Ok, don't forget to get leaf temps too. Any chance you added calcium right before the issue started?

Yea will do about the leaf temps in the am. I did give them some calmag but like 1/2 dose. 2.5ml per gallon. My ppm right out of the tap is pretty low. Probably around 100ppm. And I always let the water sit for 24 to 48 hrs to gas off the clorine.

100ppm is already pretty high if it's all calcium and magnesium. I try to stay under 70, and shoot for 50-60.

Next time you mix some up, run a ppm test on it. I use RO water to avoid this, and then I know what the ppm is too.

Do you only add calmag when the line goes crisp, or do you just add it regularly?

Hopefully tomorrow we can figure something when you get some VPD numbers.

Friday morning I'm heading off grid to a small Island off the west coast of BC for a week, so I may or may not be in cell service.

Will do. Hey have fun on your big adventure. You doing any fishing on the island?

I need to take brix more often. I add 1/2 dose kind of randomly. I get lazy. I'm probably over doing it with the cal mag.

I think you are, or at least did, and then vpd spiked and boom. Lets see your numbers tomorrow tho. After 9 or 10 hours from lights on for VPD if you can.

I've said this before, but I need to say it again. Seeing how easy brix is, is very exciting, but you MUST respect calcium.

You Must.

It's lightning in a bottle, and not only can it fry plants, it can destroy your CEC.

If that happens, a good flush will help because calcium is very mobile in water, but it will do damage going in, and the flush can cause more on it's way out.

So low and slow is the way, and the refractometer is your yes or no tool.

A calcium deficiency is easier to recover from than an overdose.

Nope. Beach combing and scoping out retirement locations.
Love beach combing. Found a bunch of sand dollars on New Years day this year. Thanks to the beach replenishment project.

Everyone take this opportunity to take a caffeine tolerance break and restock your coffee haha we've been hitting it hard the last couple weeks and Gee won't be telling us to get a cup of coffee so it's a perfect opportunity 😂.
