You'll have to grow something else to smoke with your friends. :tokin:. The HB seems like alot of work but maybe its worth it. I see many growers heading in that direction. Are you still going to running DWC too?

@nick...no dwc for the warm months. A recipe for disaster in my experience. DBHB kit seems like a lot of work for the uninitiated. ..but it's gotta be easier than mixing Chem nutes out the bottle and ph'ing n ppm'ing every watering.
Sure enough the terminology is um....different but I will trust my eyes and give this method a chance.

The HB is much less work believe me. I still have chem plants in this grow and groan every time I have to make nutes. Last night my pH meter gave me the battery low signal. ugh I hate to buy new batteries for this one last chem grow.

Do you shot glass your seeds and paper towel

Beautiful buds.. Golden or flash on camera or my phone.
sure do Grizzman :tokin:. Shotglass for 12 hours then into wet paper towels for 48 - 72 hrs until the root is about .5 inches long. ill put some pics of the rest in a couple days when some seeds crack open. The only seeds that dont make it are the ones that dont crack open. I used to be a serial seed killer.

Mixing nutes has been getting old. Maybe i need to look into HB. Is it exspensive to get started?

I dont feel it is expensive for high brix, the basic kit will get you through one grow and costs about 100. The bale of promix will run 40-60 depending on your source. The earthworm castings are about 30 bucks. Sprayer is 3-5 dollars. So under 200 for six plants in 7 gallon pots and all the nutes to feed them. Plus Roots! powder to help with rooting and transplanting. But...once you run the soil you keep it and recook it up to three times or more. I also didn't use all of the foliars or drenches first run. Later after you decide you like the kit you can save some money ordering in bulk to make more batches.

Making the water for drenches takes me less than 30 seconds. Making the foliar spray about the same. Easy Peasy. The hardest part is waiting 30 days for the soil to finish cooking. And not wanting to smoke my chem buds anymore.

Thanks for the info shiggity. High Brix just got alot more interesting. I like that you can re-cook it up to 3 times. When I run out of nutes i think I will have to give Doc a shout. :smokin: By the way beautiful entry in the notm competition. That agent orange looks amazing. What type of camera do you use for the closeup trich shots? Ive been using a magnifying glass for macro pics and the edges are always blury.

Mate look into it further, you'll get more excited.. There's a grower who's been running his soil for about three years and getting mad results. A good chem buds always good now and then though. I enjoy the different taste even so often.. Damn if I was in it for lung health I wouldn't smoke, lol. Anyways how many chemicals in this air we breath, lol or paint fumes i work in or daughters farts, lol.... I'm just trying to justify these last chemical plants I'm growing, lol....

Nick by careful blending of new and old soil some have kept their soil going for longer than 3 runs. And when it finally gives out it would make a fantastic outdoor raised bed. Super mineralized and colonized by many beneficials.

I have been using an Olympus TG-10. It is a 5yr old point and shoot model that has a super macro plus LED mode. I also just picked up a Dino lite basic model but haven't gotten the chance to use it yet. Make sure to give Doc a call two months before nutes run dry. You will want one month to cook the soil and one month to grow up the clones high Brix style. That way you will run out of nutes right as the high Brix girls are ready for flower. Then order another kit before you flip so you can have soil ready for the next plant cycle. You can alternate the two kits. Everyone who just gets one kit eventually realizes..." Oh crap these plants are beautiful but I don't have soil for the next round!!!"

Nic, my daughter hits me this morning with first four lines of ladidadi, I took up next, then her., until five minutes it lasted, lol... Four years old. Been singing it to her for all those years.. I didn't realise she had learnt so much...

Wish I could say to you dudes who to follow, but he's Voldemort here, he who shall not be named, lol... He was the only one doc was sponsoring for couple years anyway...

:rofl:well atleast she is learning some good music grizz. My son is 6 and im finding out the hard way that even if you think they aren't listening, they are. Kids soak up everything like a sponge. Im just trying to make sure its good things he is soaking up. I am not always the best influence on how to act. :laughtwo:

My music is ra rugged man, company flow, Wu tang, madlib, big l etc, I listen to talk back radio in the car now, lol.. It's like being 12 again, and not wanting my parents to hear all the swearing in my music, lol. Also realise how much there is once you have a kid....

Hey noob welcome. Feel free to snoop around a little, let me know if you want to sample anything and I'll download it to you through the matrix :laughtwo: thanks fot the og kush compliments. i will smoke a bowl in your honor. :passitleft:

This is how ive been starting seeds for a while. I "borrowed" this method from another grower on the site named cultivator. Ive tried other methods but this one is by far the best. out of 22 seeds that have cracked open all 22 became healthy plants. So if theres Anybody out there having issues starting seeds and you dont want to kill anymore $10 seeds, this method is for you.

First i let the roots get close to 1/2 inch long before going into the jiffy pellets
image10532.jpeg

Next i use warm water with a bit of Great White mycorrhizae mixed in to expand the jiffy pellets. Then i make a little hole with this pollen applicator aka paint brush for the root to go into.
image10534.jpeg

Then stick the little root in the hole
image10535.jpeg

Leave only the seed shell sticking out of the hole and lightly squeeze the hole shut around the root to keep any light out.
image105371.jpeg

Then the seedlings go into a little humidity dome for 48 hours in indirect light until the cotyledon leaves open up. Then they are good to go
image10539.jpeg

Using this method you dont have to worry if the seed is going to come up or not, or if its going to come up upside down. :thumb:

Very similar to me, mine actually have cotyledons when I plant, usually around 8" long but I'll plant it down to the cotyledons just surfacing.. :passitleft:

Do you have problems with the jiffy pots when you pot them, Nicholas?
No problems at all noob. They just keep on truckin. I do sprinkle a little great white in the transplant hole to help root growth. :passitleft:
