The Boptang Carnival

I'm in too! :lot-o-toke:
Good to have you Mr.Dank!! :ciao:

Kitchenhawk genetics, I'm in! I'm currently running the bcp X bt too.

:yummy:
I saw you were running that strain! I’ll have to keep my eye open for that one!! :high-five: Happy to have you along for the (unexpected) ride!!:surf::high-five:
Those are GG4. Gorilla Glue 4 x Boptang, if you were asking.
thank you sir!! That’s exactly what I was asking. The bags that PMan sent me were all very clear and easy to read. Except for that one. It looked like 664. I couldn’t wrap my head around what that meant. Then earlier today when I was in Preston’s journal, I thought I remembered seeing a GG4. I’m glad I asked. Boy would that have been embarrassing :smokin2:

I checked on the seeds today at around 10Am

The Boptang #2’s aren’t showing any sign of cracking at all.

So I dropped three more Boptang X Dosi-dos in hopes to fill these shoes of the boptang #2 that didn’t sprout. I will keep the #2’s in the PT in hopes that they do make it, but they might not.

here’s the

I skipped soaking them in water in hopes that they would crack in time to all be dropped in medium at the same time.

Here’s the rest of the seeds, visibly cracked and almost ready.

I normally drop all my seeds into peat pucks to start with after germinating. Since this is going to be an unconventional grow for me, I figured I might as well mix things up.

Instead of the peat pucks (because I only have one left) I’m dropping them into the medium, directly in the first pot, rather then waiting to see roots on the pucks before going into the first pot. Not everything is forever, and it’s interesting mixing things up!

more to come everyone! Stay tuned!

Everything looks great. I dont soak I go straight to paper towel then solo cups maybe next time I'll just go straight into my first pot
Your going to continue your chosen method of germinating though, right? Then go straight into first pot?

I always start in peat pucks, then to the first pot (which is smaller then a solo cup) then transplant into another sized pot, then into my 5 gal cloth pots to finish in. I’m not going into 5 gal pots this time. Keeping everything generally on the smaller end of the spectrum this grow.

Yes soaking of the beans isn’t necessary. Growing can be a bunch of small steps to get to the final big step. I started out with this method, and I rolled with it. Come repetition, comes habits. :high-five:

thanks for dropping in, happy to have ya on board!

the last three amigos!

that means I had 13 out of 13 germinate.:yahoo:

I also peaked into the grow box this morning, where they all are beside the dosi-dos. I was able to see two plants are showing signs of poking their heads out. I can see the seedling folding out to the top of the medium, getting ready to expose their cotyledons.

A cotyledon is an embryonic leaf that occurs in seed-bearing plants. Cotyledons are formed during embryogenesis alongside root and shoot meristems. This primordial growth is the first leaf set to appear after germination takes place. The green appearance of cotyledons is an indication of the presence of chlorophyll, allowing the small leaves to conduct photosynthesis in the early stages of growth. Soon after, the first set of true leaves will emerge. Cannabis is classed as a dicotyledon, a flowering plant with an embryo that bears two cotyledons. However, abnormal growth can lead to the growth of 3 or even 4 cotyledons.

The journey begins!

Yes I'm going to put in 1g pots first skip the solo cup
Duggan had me go straight to a 1gal. pot and it worked Great. Then when they were ready I put them in the 10gal. pots I got Great results using that method

Very cool Video @Backlipslide . In all my years i have never germinated seeds that way. Seems to be the most popular way watching peeps in other journals or videos. My lazy ass, has either thrown them into solo cups in soilless mix about 1inch deep or the pellets. Just being honest.
