so i got my 600watt hps bulb in today.gonna fire up the new JD LIGHTING 600 watt ballast and make this an official jd lighting journal....back in a bit with a couple pics and comments

got comments but lights went off before i took any pics, i was busy pollinating flowers hehe both the purple maroc and purple#1 females had branches tagged and dusted red for rpk pollen and green for purple #1, i tagged with zip ties, purple maroc got a fan leaf trim,i noticed 3 bananas along the stem, as you guys know i fear not this occurrence, i will watch closely and gather them for pollen and make some fem seeds, well i got the light hooked up,, holy flaming platypus balls!! that 600 is bright, i started on 50% and worked my way up to 110% at 110% its unreal to me ! just the light reflecting off the walls had me blinded when i went into the other room, im gonna have to keep a pair of shades on a hook in there so i dont forget to wear them,, i did a heat test buy closing it up and waiting 2 hours interesting thing, it was 5 degrees cooler than running the 2 cfl light arrays!! so 17 small cfl built in ballasts put out more heat overall than the 600 setup!! i will continue monitoring closely i dont think i will have heat issues till summer i will get some pics tomorrow, so far im very impressed with the ballast it is totaly silent and runs pretty cool.....coolio!!!!

Many growers don't know between temperature and heat. .
Just because that bulb will singe your ass, doesn't mean it makes more heat for the power it emits.

And like tinkerbell, you ponced about happily dispensing magic dust? Jolly

I accept 110% putout electro mechanically, but sports fans abuse that number.
More than 100% effort? Unh, uh, that's 100%. You were just dicking around before.

Acceptable running ballast temperature with no little cooling fan? shazaam

lmao i dont ponce about more like lumber along!! (laughter) more like a limping elephant rather than a tinkerbell but i'll take the wings might help the pain in my hips and knees!!
i figured out the heat vs temp vs power thingamajig from the addition of the 400,i just found it interesting that i can have soooo much more light jezus 95,000 lumens is bright, with less heat, but it makes sense 17 heaters vs 1 hmmm, i love the less clutter of wires too!! the ballast can overdrive the bulb with over 600 watts by a little over 10% heres what jd lighting sez they do

""120V @ 110% output power is 726.62W Lamp consumes 663.90W""

i did notice it seemed much more extreme on the 110% setting

sadly at my time of selection auto was all i could choose but i will make a few seeds with another auto's pollen and perhaps i'll get a "blu diesel cream auto" i will see how i like it and get more beans if need be!

got the 600 up n running yesterday "HOLY SCREAMING NINJA HAMSTER FARTS!!" at 110% the light blinded me for 20 min! and it was just the white walls that hit my eyes! i think im sterile now, and i need diapers as i have lost all bladder control! its bright ppl the only other thing i have seen that compares is the damn sun! it looks like god lives in my closet! i had no idea there were so many light leaks! lol but i guess thats to be expected from owning my own x ray machine now lol! if my plants dont just up and die from shock i expect they are going to be massive!! my first reaction to the ballast is its great, it gets the bulb on fast and up to max output very smoothly when switching the output it transitions gradually not suddenly like my ipower does, i feel thats good to protect the jd lighting ballast and attached bulb from trauma and death, so far i think its well built and will last a long time, more to come......later, BID
