The Answer's Hydro Revelations

Good job brother! Keep pushing the limits. :bravo:

Answer, cloner came out absolutely beautiful! greatjob, looks right out of the book! Your certainly a handy dude. I was just wondering with your aerosetup. Have you had any thoughts on putting in a light mover? I think it would be absolutely perfect for your operation. They're really not all that expensive or hard to install and with that cool tube, you could probably get the light down to 8 inches or so! Anyways everything looks awesome! Happy weekend!

Thanks Jonny! I am in the proccess of thinking up a homemade light mover setup. I think you are correct, that it would be beneficial in this setup. The cool tube does stay prettty cool(you can touch the glass and hold your hand there). As soon as the Church clone is done I was going to center it right over the Roadrunner and I will lower it down to 8". Thanks for the input my friend!

So are you following stinkbud's nute recipe? How long have you been growing your power kush mom, because she does look like a beast? With your mom in dwc do you keep a steady ppm level throughout (say 800 or 1000ppm)? Bro that will be nice if each of your clones end up yielding you at least 1.15ounces. That would give you just a little bit over a pound of icky sticky.

Not exactly, I am using Botanicare, but his 1500 ppm suggestion is way too hot for the strains I have run(Church couldn't go above 700 ppm). The Power kush mother is four weeks old currently and I am keeping it at 400 PPM. I would be blessed if my clones hit the pound mark!!

Uhhhhh, wow Answer! You really have your stuff together bro'. Makes me wanna go build somethin and i haven't even mastered crawling yet!!!!! lol

What can I say, I love to build stuff!! Every time I see a sweet design for something I have to build it. It's like a lego set for adults!!

Answer, you keep amazing me! Keep up the great work man.

Thanks my friend!!

Thank you very much Moustache! That's exactly what I intend to do!

I updated my Kief box thread:

I got a small update here on my pressing procedure. As you know from the first page, I purchased the cheap $10 clay press from Micheal's. Well at first I wasn't pleased, as it took alot of effort to get even a fairly tight puck. I have now come up with a system that produces some potent HASH!!

  1. Insert kief into press
  2. Press,press,press,press
  3. Heat oven to 175 degress
  4. Place the press into the oven for 10-15 min.
  5. Remove the press, let cool for 1 min.
  6. While still warm, press again(it will feel warm and gooey)
  7. Let cool some more and then remove puck from the press
  8. Enjoy some fine quality HASH!!!
  9. :smokin:
This kief came from my Church harvest and I tried just kief, pressed kief, and now baked Hash. The finished product is WAY better than just pressing or kief alone. The puck is very hard and I use a razor to take a small chunk. Two tokes and I am on a cerebral journey!!

AWESOME! As much as you are making you have to check this little press out... might have been posted before if so I apologize. When I saw this online a guy put a american dime in the end of the press so the puck had that imprinted on it....a coin won't fit in the one I am using now like you.
Really nice unit and at some places only 10 bucks. Kmart online for 20 sumthin' dollars....
Anyhow, not my idea and scavaged from another site...but it is a great idea

Also wanna say that sometimes I notice it will stick a bit in the base. I have cut little circles of bakers paper and put on the bottom disk...helps a lot.

I like the modifications to the stink aero setup. I was thinking of altering to 2 fenceposts holding 14 apiece instead of 7. What ya think? And y did you go with the regular pvc instead of the fencepost suggestion?

I had trouble getting the fencepost locally at the time. I have sourced them on the internet since then and I plan to switch on my next grow. The flat surface is beneficial and the square has more room for roots. As for your idea, they make really long sections of fencepost(4,6,8 feet), so it definitely would work. It all a matter of how much space you have. The thing I like most about the Stinkbud system is, it can be built to suit any grow.

Thanx for the help. I'm going to try to do a large scale kinda like the 60 site aerogrow. I have seen DIY that put the 1/2 inch pvc on the outside and run hoses from 1/2 to misters and then insert the misters in the top of pvc in-between the planter sites. I would think this a better way. What do u think? Does it help with sprayer clogs?

I have not had a problem with clogged sprayers and I check them regularly. This way is definitely more simple and leakproof(which is big for me). The best thing to remember is to keep it simple. The fancy PVC elbows I installed, while functional, only make it harder to clean(another reason I am switching to the fencepost). I would say, try to stick as close to the Stinkbud design, for simplicity and ease of use.

After that beauty that DocWho grew I want to grow some too. I'll be following that one too MMRC. Also good luck on the collective. Get in there before they pull an LA on ya.

By the way did you end cash, money order or.....?

Ok, stupid question.....
How do you change the sprayers once the roots have started to amass in the tubes? Ya' can;t really pull the manifold out for fear of ripping roots out right? And they are not directly under each net pot....so how do you get to them to change 'em out?
:) Thx

So far I have not had a problem with any sprayers clogging. If you use the EZ clone brand sprayers, you don't have to worry about it. I also have a filter on my pump, that will catch anything that could potentially clog a sprayer.

Lately I've been doing some work with a commercial grower and he uses a system very similar to the StinkBud system. Rather than using spray heads he drills 1/8" holes, he turns the pipe to control the spray. They even clone right in the system, they turn the holes to hit the side of the tube which creates the fog for the clones. They have an almost 100% success rate.

They get some amazing growth, 2 weeks in grow, 55days in flower, they get close to. Lb per plant! I've gotta see that in action!
