The 4x4 Grow Tent Club

Here they are after a few where defoliated and raised up to be level with the others.
How long have you guys ran your 1000 watt bulbs? I'm on my 4th run on this eye hortilux and I can't afford to replace it for another 3 weeks so I'm hoping that doesn't kill my yield.
My wife is epileptic and has high anxiety and pills make her lose her mind so I need to grow for her. It helps her more then any pill will zero bad reactions. Other then the fridge getting raided for munchies lol
Sorry my lights on in the pic. I'm to lazy to shut it off.lol

Thanks, I don't tell anyone about my garden so it's great to be able to share pics with other growers :). My grows are low tec, I don't own a ph/ppm meter. I used the test strips for my fish aquarium to figure out 1 ml of vinegar / liter tap water keeps the ph where they seem to like it. Here is a pic of the little one, it yielded 87g. Its hard to see in the pics bud the bud looked almost blue compared to the others. I dont know what strain any of them are so I just labelled it as blueberry .

I hope to match your results lol. I'm low Tech myself. I don't talk to anyone either. I'm sketchy with forums but I like to get info from people with exp.

What nutes do you run. I'm currently using a free sample of mega crop but I'm not sure what I'm going to use if that runs out before I can order more mega in 3 weeks.

I think they have recovered from the heavy trimming I did on the 21st. These two pics are of the same grouping of plants, it's amazing what 10 days does for a plant. The resilience of these plants are truly way cool!
First picture is from 2/22 the morning after the trim.

I hope your grow goes well for you. I use Canna A&B + Calimagic. Besides the coco itself, that's all I had to buy at the grow store to date. Canna products are the only ones available at my grow store so I don't have much choice. If there was something cheaper I would buy it.

Hard to tell from your pics. At least for me anyways.lol. But did you strip every fan leaf with a stem on it?

I'm trying to defoliate a couple of the girls and I'm not sure I'm doing it right.

Just looking back at pics from Tuesday and wow these girls have stretched a little in there first week of 12/12. I think I'll be defoliating later today if I feel comfortable enough with it.
I added a second trellis net. Not sure why. I guess because I had it.

Did a big defoliation a couple days ago I'll take a pair soon of what they look like now but here's a pic of after I defoliated. I did end up taking more fan leaves after the pic. I'm pretty much slaughtering these girls to see what they do.
From what I've read I should have waited 2 weeks to defoliate but oh well. I'm more curious to see my end results.
In my second grow so did a ton of defoliation and that was 1 of my best grows so far.

Talk about a burst of upper growth I did the defoliation at just over 1 week into flower and tomorrow will be 2 weeks of flower and in that little time they seem to have exploded with growth.
Hopefully this helps my yield. I think I'm going to do another defoliation at 3 weeks.

What's happening in the ol' 4 X 4!

Today, day 40 & 41

20190313_205723 (2).jpg

Pheno #2 is a Cal/Mag hog, all other plants are doing fine but all of #2's are showing signs of minor deficiency. Did a mini flush and increased CaliMagic on all plants by 0.5 ml.

Hello everyone. Very first post here. I’m still assembling my 4x4 setup. I’ve grown before in 2x2 and 2x4 tents, but this will be my first in a 4x4.

I’m growing in a 4x4 fabric raised bed, and was wondering if anyone had any good tips on pruning/defoliating the plants that will be growing in the back corner, aside from using long-handled scissors. Thanks I’m advance!

Nice setup...but I hadn't considered the challenge of dealing with back row plants in a bed...maybe you could insert some cinderblock in the middle and add soil around them...then this could offer a center support that you could use for either a board to sit or stand on?

Thank you, that’s a great idea! That was my concern, how do I support myself as I lean over to trim/prune the plant in the back corner? My tent is in a closet, so I can only access the front and one side of the tent. Thanks again

Put one cinder block on its end and keep another (and a board) out of the tent. When you need to get in place the board on both cinder blocks :)

Same situation here, 5x5 closet and 4 x 4 tent. I will not grow 24 plants again, too hard on the body. Now I have been considering building a Lazy Susan similar to the one I did for the LSD Monster Crop only larger maybe a 40 inch one that would hold approx. 16 one gallon pots. Being able to turn the LS even 130 degrees or so should allow me to reach all the plants.
Right now I have to hold onto the door frame and I have learned to do a lot one handed. Really bad on the back though.-

I would make one suggestion, move your ballast outside the tent, get a good fan setup and watch your heat. Read my response to you about the lazy susan.

That lazy Susan idea sounds great. I haven't looked it up but it would be nice to be able to buy the Lazy Susan mechanism that's heavy duty that can be screwed onto three-quarter inch plywood. If they don't make such a thing there's a good money-making idea right there for somebody.
