When going from wet to dry, whats the final weight based on ? Is it 20 - 30% of the overall weight when wet.I had some free time so the Tangerine Dream got chopped down today. I checked the dates and it's bang on 9 weeks. 130g wet so will be about an oz dried. Not the best result but it'll be an oz I didn't have before. Super sticky.
Yes you can expect to lose almost 75% of your wet weightWhen going from wet to dry, whats the final weight based on ? Is it 20 - 30% of the overall weight when wet.
Yeah I normally divide by 5 to get a rough estimate after drying and losing stems etc. Might end up with just over an oz on this one. 20% is a low estimate. Any more is a bonus. When going from wet to dry, whats the final weight based on ? Is it 20 - 30% of the overall weight when wet.

I always ask....that's why I knew this one lolThanks for confirming that, I thought that was the case but just thought I would ask anyway.

I don't have anywhere to air dry right now so I've put them into a paper bag to fridge dry.I know it's not accurate and more a rough estimate, I've always believed it to be around 70 - 80% water to 20 - 30% solids ratio.
At least I know I've not been talking out my ass all this time when I've said the same to others lol.
I noticed you wet trimmed and removed the bud from the stem. Do you use a rack for drying ?

How does fridge drying work ?
Only reason I ask is I done the same on my first grow journal and used a Wedryer. Basicly a herb dryer with a fan at the top. I found the smell wasn't really there, good smoke though, no harshness it just lacked smell.
On the flipside wet trimming made things a whole lot easier than when I trimmed dry.
Look nice with those ugly fan leaves gone. Lol. My fingers kept sticking together which is always a good sign. They look good. Nice healthy ones

Since beginning this thread we've had a member show up who'd spent the years since 1993 refining this very process. He's already worked out what we were trying to discover - the most favorable atmospheric conditions, how to adjust humidity levels when it's time to jar it up, and for that matter...www.420magazine.com
Loads of info there. Just trimmed and put in a paper bag then into the fridge. You need a frost free fridge. Give the bag a flip/jiggle once a day. Takes longer but is supposed to preserve terpenes better. I've only done it once before so hoping I have no issues with it this time.
No it went fine. I did the red CBD in the fridge. Stinks the fridge out though. Lol. I've got a spare fridge out in the garage this time. Thanks, I'll have a read. I've heard of people fridge drying just never looked into it though.
I might give it a try with a smaller amount of weed to see how that goes.
Did you have any issues the first time ? Just with you saying
"hoping I have no issues with it this time".
