If there's no sugar on them I'd take them off and get a look at what's going on underneath the green!
I'm going to get after it tomorrow AM when the lights are back on... You think a 25% defol would fuck her up 5 weeks into flower? I don't wanna take too much, but definitely want to maximize yield on this girl. She's one of the biggest plants I've ever completed.

I don't think those tiny leaves are adding much to the plant production. It's the big fans that do most of the heavy lifting. I'd clean off one side of a bud completely as a start to see what's happening.

I finally broke down today and did a bit of defoliation on Baggy....

Here she is before...

And after...

I tried to clear some areas and get better pictures of what's hiding under all that foliage... lol

One of those tops is about the size of a baseball...

I think trimming them up will give you a better end result. :thumb:
I do too... I just didn't want to stress her hard halfway through flower... I've had a run of plants with nothing but popcorn buds & larf... This plant has been doing well it's whole life cycle. No bugs... no temp issues... I've babied her.

I think it was necessary though. She should bounce back just fine.

I also snipped the tips to try this "back-building" not sure how much it will change her, but figured it was worth a shot.

Put it in tha air mofo's!

:passitleft:

Started thinking about how much water retention this big ass pot has while I was trimming Baggy today. There's no way I would get a proper flush on her before harvest so I made a little Swiss cheese...
I wanna see how it drains from this recent watering before I drill more... which I totally plan on doing! LoL

20+ gallons of soil may be difficult. We'll see how it turns out soon enough.

I see pistils and calyxs but I don't see much in the way of trichomes (if any) in those pics. Can you see them IRL? That's a freaky looking plant!

Your new avatar has me singing ;).
LoL...
Yeah.... there really aren't many tricomes other than directly on the bud, and growing out on leaves about 1/4" from the bud. I snipped more than I originally planned because I kept finding the majority of those curly leaves had no frost at all

Weird Baggy McBagseed!
I think it originally came from a bag of Great White Shark, but I can't remember. She's growing real funny, but these are, by far, the hardest buds I've ever grown. I hope she's just ugly & actually smokes like a champ. Guess I'll find out when I chop her down and clean up the chaotic leaves.

Update on the other girls...

Amnesia Haze auto seems to really like her little outdoor jail cell:

Starting to realize I missed on both of these girls when I topped them... they will be getting another topping soon anyhow, just waiting to see what develops as they recover from the first cut.

The 2 babies seem to have beaten the thrips for now...

Not too much growth, but they're healthy and growing a bit more every day.

-P:ganjamon:

What are you using for the thrips? They were all over your last grow!
Neem oil.

I've always been scared to use it in the past. Seems to be keeping them at bay for now without negativity affecting the plants

OICK. I'm using the tiny concentrate bottle!
Yeah, mine is a spray bottle of neem oil mix for seedlings & ornamentals, so I figured it is pretty well throttled back already, but I still water it down more
