Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

Hi blaze. If you were asking me. I'm currently running old Mars blurples right now. All's small in veg. I have a few 9lb hammers, one 24 k, one GG x purps, bag seed and I just put a Lemon skunk in dirt yesterday. I'm now in a 32"x49"x60" tent. I'll be running 3- 288 QB's in it. I'm planning on getting a 4'x8'x80" for flower down the road soon. Will be getting more QB's for it hopefully. My old hps lights create too much heat. Looking forward to seeing the QB's in action

Nice man that sounds like its gunna be a stellar setup for sure. An by the sounds of the strains u got ur guna be in for one hell of a harvest. This will be my first time with the quantum boards but from others I've seen using them they are the tits when it comes to lighting lmao.

no, it's a short length of wire, usually used as a go between or a divider. Like found often near car batteries under the hood. There is 1 + and 1 - post on the battery, but there is usually several wires connecting to the same post, Each of those wires would be considered a pigtail.

Ohh ok I got u know thanx for clearing that up for me learned something new 2day lol. Man I'm learning more life skills growing herb then I did in school ha

Ok well I ended up having a long enough cord on the other end that I jus put the power supply up on top of the tent like so.

That's totally how I was running my 'tent'. I put an insulating sheet underneath the driver to stop heat from migrating into the tent and I put a fan on the driver to keep it extra cool in my hot-ass world.

Then I got it running in the top vent hole to the actual light like this.

Perfect! Looks great.

When u say a longer pigtail for the ac side do u mean the cord plug in part I could jus get a longer one of those?

Yup

I think it would be easier for me an possibly cheaper to jus get a roll of the black an red wire. The ones tht go to the actual light on the dc side I believe it is. N jus go longer from light to power supply then I can jus put the power supply where ever I need it so I can plug it in or would that not work?

You can totally do that. Good for about 30ft. I do it. I put the drivers in a closet next to the circuit box, ran a 80amp connection over to my light box, plug the drivers into the light box, and run 2 DC red and black lines to each light fixture. Fan and vent the power closet keeping everything cool.
Hmmmm... I bet I could drive them in serial and consume less wire. Might have to do some digging.

You're totally gonna be blown away. Keep the warm driver outside your grow area as we've been discussing.

From growing bud, I learned both electrical and plumbing and completely rewired and plumbed my previous home. It's not all that difficult once ya get past the basics and once ya get them, ya scratch your head wondering how in days past each was a trade that took journeymen/apprentices years to learn?

Says the amateur displaying the fact that they have not spent years learning.....
I tip my hat and empty my wallet to the pros on many occasions, but generally try to avoid spending the dime.

These QB's are so bright I can see light leaks from the inside out in my cheapo tent. Put together a frame and wired them today. Even dimmed way down they're way brighter than my old blurples

Oh man... like a ceiling of light. Very nice job!
In a perfect world, one would like to see something better than twisted and taped connections. My sets shipped with a bunch of WAGO connectors.... little lever widgets for connecting wires. Lacking connectors, I might use that shrink tube stuff.

Hey tead I was wondering on the output side what are the lil black knobs that say vo adj. And I think it's a lo adj.

FWIW, I soldered and heat shrunk my leads. I also accidentally over sized my wires which is no safety concern, but the thicker gauge is more rigid and when terminating to solder pads on COBs, need to be strapped down well. I had to factor this into my reflector design, but thankfully was able to and print custom reflectors. You QB guys have most of these headaches mitigated in the panel design. I'd like to suggest that if you locate your drivers a considerable distance away from your fixtures to use the next lower gauge wire to account for voltage drop at load. Our drivers produce X amount of power, but if the wire is too long, resistance increases and voltage decreases. The amount of loss may only be negligible, but I know everyone wants every last photon to blast their canopies, so be mindful.

I went digging thru Meanwell's data. You've got an "AB" model. I was right. VO is voltage output adjustment and the other knob is a built in dimmer.

Awesome brother thanx. So what does the voltage do I mean obviously it turns it up n dwn but what does tht actually mean lol sry I'm a noob wen it comes to electrical shiz lol

I looked at the datasheet last night to see if I could figure it out. I couldnn't lol. I know the one potentiometer (pot) is a builtin dimmer pot so you don't have to wire in a pot, but the I/O pot is still a mystery to me.
