Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

@SweetSue I have 3 DDA, and 2 SSDC in 2qt hempys, and a Mephisto Sour Crack in a larger one. Depending on yield I might retire my buckets, this is too easy so far. Oh yeah, they are all under one 60w COB. :hmmmm: Eight COBs x 6 plants each, 48 plants x (y)oz each = ? Yep, I could have my own snow field one day.

You know, it brings a big smile to Tead’s face when he reads posts like this one. Lol!

My problem is keeping them small enough. Lol! I really like the looks of your PVC pipe pots. I may grab a section this week and give it a try. What size are you using again? It’s 6”, correct?

6" round, 12" tall.
Hole at about 2.5"-3" up.

It just occured to me to try a plant in a coco hempy with Doc's kit. What do you think Tead? Worth a try, at least. I'll have to ask some questions, get some guidance, but not from Doc just yet. I exasperate him enough already. Lol!

Ya know... I've recently seen some working combo grows, but until just recently had never seen one work. Tead will not be joining you down that particular path... but he'd sure love to hear Doc's words on the subject if you tickle him.

A guilty smile in this case... I was picturing piles of perlite in RM's back forty. Still smilin... just with a slightly guilty twinkle in the eyes.

I hadn't checked on BD in a couple weeks, so thought it would be good to give her some water and take a pic. Also topped her tonight and put the cutting in the bubble cloner. Maybe I'm not too far behind. I probably need to turn on the second set of lights and turn up the first set since I think I left them at about 75%.

Hey brother, was finally able to log on. DBS is looking well, interested to see how that turns out! I flipped an Ox the other day. Might have to grab you some lady bugs and see if they can't help your war.

I saw my first ladybug of the year yesterday! Scooped it up an tossed it into the bloom room.
Careful with that Ox... even your sweetie will find it to be sleepy weed.

@Tead you use cal/mag and neem in every watering with your osmo+ hempies right?

Water every 2 days. 2tsp neem/gal once a week with one of the waterings. 2 tsp cal/mag with every watering.
Careful with the neem. It's possible to go overboard and the plants will suffer. I recently got too cazy and caused some significant damage chasing the mites.
I never learn my lesson and let my neem program slide all the time, then I gotta re-establish it and spray for a while. Last round got dealt with fairly effectively.... Tead's getting better on the reaction side but could use some help in the proactive department.

Poor Mr Greene... didn't know what he was getting into setting up a race between hydro and soil....

OH SNAP!!!!
Can I microwave those words before I eat them?

Very nice! Look at those budsites build up.
I gotta defol mine.
Are yours in DocBuds mix?

Sorry to say,,, neem is best as a spray..... If you want to stay 'easy' on plants,,, try naturally...

Ladybugs won't help with spider mites unless you only have 2-3 in there. Aphids,,, yes. But make sure you are careful to add the mites not to the buddage directly... Left saw dust in my buddage.

It's very true.... anything applied to the foliage will be a much more effective way of introducing that substance.
And yes, applying any oil substance will have a damaging on the shells of the little buggins.
But those are not my goals.
My goals are to provide an on-going inoculation with an easy diet based solution. I use a pyretherin spray to knock down the numbers when I forget my neem program, but the regular neem treatments give me a prophylactic protection that seems to be very effective.
Of course, then the winter rolls around and I get lazy and drop my protection....
Sometimes this lazy dance can bite you in the ass.

I've got huge caterpillar issues outside. The Captn Jack's has really contained that issue nicely. Luvin that stuff.
I think I have to blame the perlite for the leaf miner control. Apparently part of their lifecycle needs the soil.

There's no need to eat words. Are they good microwaved? Any time I've had to eat words the flavor wasn't good and some BBQ sauce would have helped. Lol.

I think you're still ahead. I've been very lazy and haven't done anything until topping after the pic last night since I know that you're a couple days ahead and should grow faster in the magic pipes.

There's no special soil or amendments here. This was just leftovers from previous grows. Some miracle gro, some dollar store soil, a little perlite added, and whatever osmocote was left after taking down the Columbian gold male. Just pulled the old stump out of the pot before she went in.

Hmmm just watching an episode of No Reservations on New Orleans cuisine and got to traditional caujun deep fried or boiled crawfish. Fuckin' hell :p:volcano-smiley: Not bad, not bad. I found out a lot about regional cuisine in the US by watching that... squirrel pie and oven baked racoon topped them all i think o_O

I've heard this story a couple of times of the years - mostly from Texans so I'm not sure I believe it, but it's always a biker rally of some sort, so it might be true.

The most interesting crawfish boil I attended was a country Mardi Gras party a motorcycling buddy of mine threw a number of years back. He had an old jet engine that he used with a kite for motorcycle jumping, before he realized nobody would pay him enough to make it worth the considerable risks. Being a certified oil field welder, he rigged up a frame for the engine and used that jet engine to boil the crawfish...IIRC, brought the pot water and crawfish from cold to cherry red in about seven seconds ...you had to be there to imagine the roar of that engine out in the open and the spectacle of the event.

Yup, country Cajuns know how to throw a crawfish boil

Hi tead, I'm on my 2nd and 3rd round of Dinafem OG Kush, but am seeing minor phosphorus def and I think copper def. My oldest has a minor N toxicity as well. Have you come across those symptoms in your journey? I'm indoor under 600w hps with rockwool. Air stats are cool to moderate.

I checked on my girl last night and decided it was time to change the timer to 12/12. I'll turn on some more cobs in the next few days. She measured about 21 inches tall. I didn't need her to fill the tent this time since there will be clones in a few weeks if all goes well.

Hey Tead,

Sorry I've been absent from your thread for a bit, life been blazin lately!

Only NO has slugs and critters 365/24/7 ... the ground is always moist, never freezes more than an inch or two! Your battle with insects will seldom abate, it never did when I was young and lived there. Critters were more of problem than most anything, other than the popo, it was a different day than now. We sold our house here (CA valley) and will be relocating, likely to the NO neck of the woods, or least somewhere along the Gulf Coast. Still looking at houses and prices, we are thinking of this being our last move, our forever home until we return to disassociated atoms . How smart am I to move from a Rec legal state to the Deep South? Well, I've never had to consider my living location choice based upon cannabis legality, so I don't know!

Glad things are moving along well for your flowering girls, they look good. I bet the over Osmo'd girl will be a good and unique smoke. I have one more harvest to do this week and I'll be devoid of live plants for a few months. It's a mixed bag of emotions ... no grow and NO GROW! I have plenty of cured reserves for a several months of personal needs. So ..TX, LA, MS, AL, GA, FL ... choices choices!

Sorry for the absence... took a header off the roof and gotta do some mendin.

I've found that the BDs in my garden are spider mite factories. I don't know why the little buggers like 'em so much. I've moved my racer girls outside. They're doing well. Making a shift to the new light, but seem past it. I'm hoping they don't re-veg in the outdoor light, but hosting them indoors has become unattractive.

I hate to admit such things, but I might steer clear of NOLA proper. It's becoming one big tourist trap lacking the real soul and instead presenting the fake version for tourist consumption. Hell.... even walking down the street greeting locals as you go is becoming less popular. I tell ya... every year it feels 'less'. Perhaps it's me and my aging view of things ("Git off my lawn ya damn whipper snappers or I'll whack ya with my cane!"), but I'm just not so sure it's me.
The Mrs and I are going to jump into KdV next year, and we've been invited to a Houma Indian pow-woo... so perhaps I can pick the spirit back up. I dunno tho.
Ya know... since you're pulling up stakes and relocating, you can pick up some fairly cheap housing in NOLA as a vacation house and rent it out when you're not using it. When you need to dance on a weekend, most of those states are a days drive away.

Of course, it's the south, so I'm pretty sure you'll not see any significant legalization action 'til the feds change.... but most municipalities have decrimilized it at least.
