Tales From The Krip!

Hey Special K

Speaking of Dr Pepper…

Why does Dr Pepper come in a bottle?
Coz his wife left him.

:laughtwo::laughtwo::laughtwo:
I bet you didn't know that Dr. Pepper is an actual doctor. He's a Fizzician from Minnesoda! :p

QUICK PIC UPDATE

The three photos are all doing great and, still, none of the autos have sprouted; and, at this point, I don't think they will, which really is fine. I don't need no stinkin' autos!

I did top-dress with a small amount of @GeoFlora Nutrients veg formula. Yeah, I know they don't have their 3rd set of leaves yet, but it's organic and getting a little nutes into the soil won't hurt them.

Here's the White Widow:

And here are the two Cheeselicious:

Most likely, I'll put the WW outside in something like a #7 SIP and the two Cheeselicious inside in #10 GeoPots. The two #10's alone should yield more than enough to hold me over, though, you can never have too much on hand! :bongrip:

Happy Harvests!

They're pretty!

Did you premix the GF in before you planted? The stuff you top dress will take some time to work its way down to the roots so it definitely won't hurt them.
Thanks, Brother! :thanks:

It's still early so hopefully they stay pretty, or at least get pretty big and pretty dank, even if they don't look pretty. :morenutes:

I did not pre-mix the GF into the soil and exactly! :high-five:

I did sprinkle a little mycorrhiza & rock dust in the seed hole and the soil is aged with worm castings, but no nutes added in the 2" (starter) containers.

I will premix some into the soil before I transplant into the #1's and, then again, when up-potted to their final containers.

:Namaste:

They have super straight proud stems. And their green is bang on.

I’m all about a seedling who stands straight and listens.

Don’t give up on the autos. I consider mine like truffles. While they are small and minimal yielders, their bud is fucking mint! And they are so fun to watch.

I consider mine like strippers. They take a lot of money, patience and energy just to deal with and they still don't put out! I will grant you that they are fun to watch, though!

You’re a good dude. You give them enough kindness, love, time, focus and gentle guidance. They’ll put out and let you watch for free ;)

Yeah, and then you wake up one morning and your wallet is gone, all your furniture is moved out, and when you go to light up a joint to forget about your misery, you realize there is nothing left to smoke, either.

Wait, I forgot :bong: ....Are we talking about autos or my ex-fiancee??? :hmmmm:

Flap....flap..... ❤️ Just winging it to send you my love. Hope you are well.
BIRDIE!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hugs::hugs::hugs:

It is sooooooooooooo great to see you!!! I just got back a week or two ago and one of the first things I did was to go to your journal to see if you were active. It looks like you've been popping in from time-to-time but it had been a while.

Really happy that you made it back and your timing is perfect! :cheesygrinsmiley:

How are you doing? Where are you living now? How are the kids doing? Are you still growing?

Fill me in!

You deserve the best and I hope you're finally getting it! I also hope you stick around for a while, if you can.

Can't wait to see these girls fill out in 10s in flowering bro.
The last couple weeks of flowering, is there any particular tricks/changes you do?
Looking at your older grow pics, everything is trich out.
:passitleft:
Thanks, Brother! :thanks:

There are no real "tricks for trichs" strategies that I use other than following the nute manufacturer's recommended protocol which may include some changes in the last couple of weeks. That said, I've had many plants showing tons of trichs after only a few weeks of flowering and I will say that I personally have found better results growing in soil that I did when I was in hydro.

When everything "clicks", not all the trichome development is in the last couple of weeks.

This is an IHG Dolato at Day #37 of 12/12:

So, it's not just the last couple of weeks, it's what happens throughout the grow. The last couple of weeks are known as "The Swell" and it's when the buds put on lots of additional weight and the terpenes start to max out, but honestly, I don't know that I see a lot of new trich development in the last couple of weeks. Usually, I see that much earlier.

I would say the top factors, in order of importance are:

1) Start with good genetics - NO substitute for this!

2) Maintain a good environment for the plants (Soil/PH/Lights/Temps/RH/Pests/Air Circulation & Ventillation)

3) Listen to the Plants & Give them what they want, when they want it - Water, Adjusting N-P-K ratios & Micronutes, etc.

I've used numerous manufacturer's nutes in both hydro and soil and, personally, I don't think (for the most part) one manufacturer's Nitrogen is any better than another manufacturer's Nitrogen. We could argue about the form of the nitrogen or the types of chelation used, but pretty much all of the good Cannabis nute lines can get you great plants if those three items above are addressed, IMHO.

The nutes I use today I use largely because they don't require mixing or other additives which makes it easier on me.

I hope that helps or provides some good bud porn, or both! ;)

:Namaste:

SECOND SET OF LEAVES ARE IN

Not a whole lot has changed since my update last Wednesday. The seedlings are still small but, at this point, I'm more concerned with what's happening below ground than above ground. As long as they're putting out good roots, the rest will follow.

They do have their second set of true leaves fully in (you could see them just starting last Wednesday) and one of the Cheeselicious has her third set just starting.

The smallest of the three is this White Widow:

Here are the two Cheeselicous. You can see the tiny third set of leaves coming in on the second pic:

They're not stretching, at all, so they should be getting the "right" amount of light at this point.

Happy Harvests!

QUICK UPDATE - YELLOWING ON CHEESELICIOUS

I noticed the two Cheeselicious seedlings have started some yellow spotting on the edges of their 2nd set of leaves. It's not anything I'm real concerned about right now, but a little odd since they're so young and there should be plenty of nutes available in that soil, including some rock dust I sprinkled (along with Mychorizzae) in the seed holes.

Since they're on their 3rd set of leaves, I did give them their first full top-dressing of nutes and, rather than misting them from the top of the containers, I soaked them all in a small container filled with some Kelp solution so they could feed from the bottom-up and encourage the roots to spread.

If the yellowing continues, I'll add some Cal-Mag to a watering or two, and/or give them a misting of some Epsom Salt solution.

Here's the White Widow:

And here are the two Cheeselicious:

Happy Harvests!
