My experience, so far, is that those IHG strains don't stretch too much. :dude-knocking:

However, I don't think 3" will be enough either, Brother! I probably can let the plants grow another inch or two closer to the lights, too. Then, I start bending some branches!

Also, the tent is the 2' x 4' x 5' so only two plants in there with that 5' height limit (before discounting for lights!) won't yield too much (usually about 7-8 oz.), but it will be a quick little harvest while the main tent will still have a month, or so, to finish.

And, speaking of which, since you may have missed it, don't forget to subscribe to my new Sponsored Grow Journal! ;)

I've run the fem version of Orient Express. There are a few phenotypes, the feminized version leans more towards the indica side or a balanced 50/50. You can find some sativa phenos in there as well but ACE recommends growing the Reg version for more of the sativa side. @eggsman grew a few of them and has some going now. Mine was a 50/50 expression and it was a unique tasting strain with good potency and a balanced effect. It got better and better as it cured. I don't think you'll be disappointed by it at all.

DAY #12 OF 12/12 FOR PKB'S - LET THE BUDS BEGIN!

It's been 12 days since making the flip on the two Platinum Kush Breaths in the small tent and hopefully, they're just about done with the stretch since, as you'll see, I'm rapidly running out of room.
The stems are nice & thick and look like they can support some heavy colas so hoping they come in that way! :dude-knocking:

Here are the two girls side-by-side. I need to start lollipopping soon:

PKB #1 is how I'm referring to the one on the left since both PKB's are clones of the same plant, so this is #1:

Which would make this a pic of #2:

A few cola close-ups - note the thickness on those stalks! :meatballs::

And, just to show where I'm at on the height situation in this 5' tall tent...I already have the wire hangers for the light doubled-up, which I always do to conserve headroom. And, I've already had to remove the ratchet light hanger and have been hanging using a few carribeeners and removing them, as needed, to raise the light further. Well, I'm down to my last beener which only give a couple/few more inches I can raise the light:

I think I'll be able to manage, but the tent, once again, is about as packed as it's gonna get!

BREEDING PROGRAM - PHASE #2: SEXING THE PLANTS

I took an hour off of working this morning and trimmed & up-potted eight clones into 4" containers, gave them a shot of bloom nutes, and switched the timer in the breeding cabinet to 12/12.

The plants that went in are (3) '79 Christmas Bud, (2) Apricot Jelly, (1) Black Cherry Jelly, and (2) Zephyrus. All are from reg seeds.

I did not include the two Trainwreck since I haven't taken any clones of those, yet.

In the next ten days, or so, we should see sex on all them. I'll cull the males, this round and likely let the females finish.

I'll then select the male I want to start with, assuming at least one is a male, and prepare some clones for the actual breeding.

I think I'll have enough time to do all this so I can flip the "breeding round" to 12/12 a couple weeks before the harvest of the sponsored grow of the Bubba Kush and Orient Express in the main tent.

I'll post some pics later tonight. I did trim those clones about as low as possible to make sure I didn't run out of room! :D

CLONES FOR BREEDING PROJECT

This is the tray of clones I trimmed & up-potted this morning for their first day of 12/12. They're pretty small, huh?

Be good for an sog.
Yeah, though, the containers may be a little small even for a SOG at only 4" but, to sex the plants, they're more than adequate. And, come pollination time, it only takes a couple of small buds getting pollinated to produce the "mother load" of seeds! ;)

BREEDING CABINET

For anyone that may have missed it or joined late, you can see the custom breeding cabinet I built, originally as a small veg space (that quickly got outgrown! ), in this post:

Hey that’s a nice little cab!

What’s that light fixture? I like it’s looks :)

That light is a cheap Homie's $39 2' LED Veg light with four "tubes" of LED diodes. The whole thing must weigh less than a pound and is being held up by magnetic hangers. I've switched that out, now, for a $79 4-tube flower light by the same company. I'll send you PM. ;)

Going all in on the kit huh? :high-five: what is the 3rd gallon? I can't imagine needing gallons of anything other than GE and trans.

:ganjamon:
LOL! Actually, those are all unopened. The bottles currently being used are in another room. I upgraded to the 1 gal of tea. I use about half as much as the TP & GE when I drench, but it gets used twice as often since it's used with both. Admittedly, I do give less GE drenches, though, since when young, it's mostly TP. ;)

That seems like a lot of tea. Can you tell me what your feeding, ie how much for each?

:passitleft:
In the #10's I use 20ml of either TP or GE (depending on the drench) and 10 ml of Tea. I use half of that for the SIPs but always a 2:1 ratio.

Wow! Normally I'd say 10ml of tea is way too much but your plants always look way better than mine so maybe I need to up my tea!?!?
My "rule of thumb" is however many gallons the container size, I give that in ml for tea and double it for the TP & GE. It makes it easy to calculate and a little extra tea can't hurt - it's just more microbial activity and, in the bigger scheme of things, the tea is cheap!
