Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL - LED

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

One of the advantages of needing to sit by the bedside of a sick loved one for nine hours as he sleeps and hopefully heals is being able to devote that time to conversations on this forum. It has allowed me to invest an unbelievable amount of time to get to know many of you better. One of those conversations with DrZiggy made me realize that I hadn't considered the idea of tailoring my strain choices to Dale's specific health challenges. At DrZiggy's suggestion. I went looking for a strain beneficial in the control of glaucoma. Of all the challenges facing Dale, the threat to his eyesight gives us the greatest pause.

My search led me to Jamaican Dream. I've been to Jamaica (college choir tour, believe it or not) and found the people laid-back and friendly with a wonderful rhythm to their lives. That sold me. With no further research I'd made my choice. Scientific of me, eh? Then Greytail reminded me that he'd chronicled Jamaican Dreams (Swoon! More than one!) in his first journal. It took me three minutes of scrolling to fall in love.

My next grow, Sweetsue is goin' Jamaican.

Ordering seeds next month. This one will be a regular visitor in our garden. Oh yeah.

I have been to Jamaica about a dozen times. Love the place. even grew out some beans I brought back from the island. That stuff stretched to about 5 feet and hit the light. Was not made for indoor grow, but it kicked azz. Would love to get an actual bred-for-indoor Jamaican strain.

Another of my goals - Carnival. And Bubblegum. And Lemon Paki. (Sigh) So many to choose from. I need to tier them and utilize space better. Build a bigger box.

This is what happens, isn't it? You have a successful grow and then the obsession begins. This desire to try as many as you can fit in. This is how one becomes a perpetual grower, isn't it? :laughtwo::green_heart:

There's another strain I came across once in researching that was called Jamaican Dance Hall. THAT one sounds like it would kick ass!

Hmmmm...... Jamaican Dream and Jamaican Dance Hall. Sounds like an exciting grow. :laughtwo::rasta:

You got it Rad. Good eye. That's Greytail's Jamaican. I can only hope to mimic his success with them.

LOL, you got it, yup! I have 21 strains so far, and I can't even see the end of it. :tokin:

And now I've graduated to a 3-stage perpetual ... *sigh* ... but it's just so rewarding.

GhettoGro, how did she smoke?

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

My closing note for the night is on the importance of bone broth. There was a time when every kitchen had a pot on the back of the stove that cooked non-stop. Into that pot went extra bits of veggies, broken bones (to draw out the marrow), herbs and spices as desired or directed by the ingredients. This bountiful, nutritious broth was used as soup and sauce bases. Maximum use of ingredients and increased health benefits for the family. No one ever thought this would not be there. Somehow we lost this essential part of our nutritional balance. This little link, which I found on DrZiggy's thread, is to remind us to find it again.

This was the third time today homemade broth came into my conversation. I hear the universe telling me my time has come. I'll stop tomorrow to pick up some ingredients and get out the stock pot.

Goodnight all. Thanks so much for keeping me company today. :green_heart:

Daily Update: Waiting for Germination - Day 4

Still Waiting (there's that Talking Heads soundtrack again!).

The Berry Bomb is invisible from here. I know it's there. I planted it myself.

image21674.jpg

No matter how hard I look there's no movement yet.

image21675.jpg

The Dark Devil as well, silent and unseen.

image21676.jpg

Maybe if I get in reeeeeeally close.

image21677.jpg

Nope. Not yet. Patience.

I can hear nivek in the background, coaxing them awake with his energy. I told them - lovingly of course - that they could come out and play anytime now.

No time to tend to them this morning, other than a mild spritz of the surface. We have an appointment at 11:30 with a rehabilitation doctor to get fitted with the shrink stocking to begin forming the stump to fit the prosthetic leg. One major step to getting him home. After that they will transport us to his nephrologist's clinic for a 3:30 appointment. It will be a long day, but we will be free of the home and that room and maybe get lunch out in a public venue for the first time in over a month. I'm hoping they transport him by wheelchair so we have more freedom. He's beginning to feel desperate and trapped.

I packed up some nice-sized decarboxylated buds from the Bomb. That should make him smile.

Have a wonderful day everyone. Spread a little joy while you're at it OK? :laughtwo::green_heart:

Exactly, some people on here think I'm big lmao. I started with 1 400w setup in a closet in a basement. Now I'm culling 50+ Strains back down to 5. And potentially now going from 400sq ft to 1000 so yes even one crap grow can do it. Sure did it to me

My daughter has already decided that her mother is talented enough with plants and people that, should this provincial commonwealth ever legalize, it would be remiss if I didn't at least grow for a couple more patients. With four disabled family members in our building I would definitely start wetting my toes by growing for them. I can see how this passion, coupled to a strong entrepreneurial bent, could ramp up quickly with the right seed money.

Dutty, we all watch you in awe. I understand the rewards as well as the "baptism by fire" aspect of running your own business. You and the wife are always foremost in my thoughts.

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

These last 5 years have been excessive before we were legit medical wise I had over 55 in bloom that was unbearable in a 12x15 room.

I'm small out here respectively and grow higher thc strains. I've been in 200 light commercial operations. Producing 40+ lbs per month. And on that recreational side quality suffers. I mean with 5000 Sq ft and lack of knowledge base lots of lost potential

That's why we chose the smallest tier 1 I want to still grow high end. I've always cared more about quality hence the testing but it's also got to yield. It can be rough.

Trial By fire happened indoor 2001 when I only yielded 1/4 ounce per plant on 3 plants for a grand total of 3/4 of an ounce. That motivated me after that.

We ran (I ran - let's be honest here :laughtwo:) our tattoo studio for over ten years. Just Dale and I for the most part, him tattooing and me doing everything else from greet to design to prep and stretching skin as well as the business end of it all. There is no greater feeling than waking up every morning excited about going to "work". It was feast or famine the whole time though, because his health began to decline just as we started. After 10 years we had to go on disability. The feast and famine part I don't miss at all. The work ethic, the pressure to create and help people bring their dreams to life in ways they hadn't imagined before I started designing - I miss that energy.

This forum has helped me with that. Feeling very productive and contributing these days. It feels good.
