SweetSue's Perpetual 3.0 - The Hempy/HB Hybrid Grow

My birthday wishes came yesterday when it was already your birthday but now I get to send them again!

May your day be filled with  and :smokin2:

Have a great night too! Do take it lightly on the old alkihol ... Cannabis is much safer! (Only day that cause I don't drink either so you have to remember how very potent it can be if it's been a long time between drinks .)

Go well today SweetSue ...

Just when you thought you've seen it all. :laughtwo: There's a good argument to be made for setting up public toilets in our shopping areas. Let me set the scene.

My apartment sit above the main drag in my little town across the river from the metropolis we call The Burgh. From my kitchen window I look down on the stretch that has the local Dollar General, the new brewery under construction that had to be halted due to unforeseen financial difficulties, and the local branch of Citizen's Bank. I turned to gaze out on the rainy day below and just then an elderly man shuffling his way back to the senior high rise stopped in front of that empty brewery, looked to be sure no one was watching, unzipped and relieved himself in the doorway of the darkened building, right out there on the Main Street at 11 AM. :thedoubletake:

I tell ya....I love being a city mouse, but there are moments. :laughtwo:

Indeed we get the same in my little city. I too have reached an age where I plan activities around toilet locations. wet pants are no fun in freezing temps.
I luv being a city mouse tooooo.

harvest happy and happy birthday.:smokin:

Happy Birthday Sue!

As for public urination problems ... you may want to reconsider NO as a new home!

:tommy:

Just sayin' ... it's not an uncommon event back home.

Peace
Keith

I never knew devil's carnival was a custom sue strain?!!? Wow. I'm going to try and start two of my own hybrids this year. Glueberry (which I'm sure exists already) and the one I'm the most excited for is midnight sunshine!

I had a small glass of white wine and a shot of cinnamon whiskey. I went fully loaded with a handful of hits of a Devil's Carnival mix and a Carnival brownie. It was an interesting event. Lol! The building is three blocks from my home, straight up the hill, which means coming home is straight down that steep hill. The invigorating cold and the physical output counteracted the alcohol completely, except that tiredness you get that I always forget about until it's too late. *yawn*

It has been a long day. :cheesygrinsmiley:

City survival techniques. :laughtwo: I haven't owned a car in over 20 years. Everything I need is within walking distance. I'm pretty spoiled about having access to the river trail. And restaurants. Increase my income enough and I'd eat out at least once a day. Either that or hire a cook. Lol!

It would appear I passed my congratulations a day early, never mind have some more  :hugs:

:happybday:HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sue:happybday:

Awww....Mr A...... :hugs:  :hugs:

Happy birthday, Susan.

Thank you FlowerNose. :hugs: See you in the morning?

I've never even been to this thread before, just almost every other one you've started. But I thought this was the best place to say have a wonderfully happy birthday!

Hahaha! I'm kinda everywhere InTheShed. I've lost count of the total number of threads I have running. Welcome to the joyful journal. Thanks. :hugs: Ahhh..... What a wonderful day it's been.

Happy Birthday Sue!

HARVEST: Blue Dream S1 (Day 128, flip + 56)

I pulled her out yesterday for some final shots.

She was glorious. :dreamy:

At 6:30 AM I rolled out of bed, chopped her, hung her in the hallway, and went back to bed for another half hour of sleep.

IMG_636611.JPG

She's hanging down there at the end of the hall.

IMG_636416.JPG

After I woke up I moved her to the sink area and got the show going.

IMG_636711.JPG

IMG_63699.JPG

IMG_636810.JPG

She had a foliar of skim milk that coated all the leaves and buds, so this wash I started with warm water to rinse the milk off...

IMG_638013.JPG

...then into the H2O2 dilution...

IMG_638112.JPG

...and finally into plain water again.

IMG_638315.JPG

That's a lot of leaves to pull. It took me three hours, pretty much non-stop.

Fan leaves on the left, sugar leaves on the right. The sugar leaves got trimmed down a bit before being mixed in with the popcorn buddage.

IMG_639513.JPG

I found two small buds showing signs of bud rot. I checked everything carefully while trimming, expecting to find some powdery mildew, but this was all I came across. It's a distinctive difference in coloration that jumped right out at me when I trimmed the bud of fun the branch. Glad I didn't decide to let her go a couple more days.

There was a multitude of small buddage in the lower branches. Next time I'll make certain to clean up more efficiently. Sugar leaves and popcorn came to 14 grams.

IMG_640115.JPG

It'll lay out to dry and be added to the jar of other harvested small fare. One day I'll make some killer brownies with the mix of essential oils. :slide:

IMG_640212.JPG

313 grams into the bags to dry low and slo.

IMG_641415.JPG

I trimmed up this branch nice and close so we could get a look at what was hiding behind all the greenery. :cheesygrinsmiley:

128 days in hempy using RX Green Solutions nutrients, and she brought me one of my best harvests to date. This was an easy plant to grow. She adapted well to the changing conditions and grew strong branches that supported very decent buds. I expect to get somewhere in the vicinity of 2.5 ounces dry.

I'm starting to get back over 2 ounces per plant. :slide: Let's keep that momentum going. :battingeyelashes:

IMG_640716.JPG

What a beautiful plant and an excellent harvest. What's the skim milk foliar do? PM-related?

And I'm diggin' the leaf-taped-to-the-index-card for the files! :thumb:

Yeah, the cards were a whim one day that turned into a good idea. The whole thing's still evolving. Hopefully by the 1st I'll have it worked out. That reminds me to put packing tape on the shopping list. Another harvest tomorrow. :yahoo:

I had powdery mildew pop up in the bathroom. The Blue Dream got a foliar with skim milk. Worked like a dream. :battingeyelashes:

Budwashing tips and tricks

I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but pulling the fans and sugar leaves from a wet plant is easier than from a dry one. It still gets sticky, but it takes longer to become sticky enough that you have to stop and clean up.

Sometimes you have a branch that's much longer than the bucket. One option is to clip it in half and wash each half separately.

IMG_637214.JPG

Or you could bend the branch in the middle.

IMG_637313.JPG

This way it fits the bucket and nothing hits the sides when you swirl.

IMG_637414.JPG

IMG_637715.JPG

IMG_637515.JPG

I use one 32 ounce bottle of H2O2 in one of the 5 gallon buckets, usually the first bucket. I'm not sure this is the best concentration, but it appears to be working so I'm sticking with it until I learn better.

I've gone to one H2O2 rinse and one clean water rinse instead of three buckets of water.

Tomorrow morning I get to do it all over again. :slide:

Thanks for the step-by-step on the bud wash. Well done as always. Beautiful plant.

:laughtwo: I missed this before I posted about budwashing. We must be on the same wavelength. Lol!

Lovely buds Joe. :high-five:

I started doing that on a whim about two months ago. It really began with my personal journal. One morning a leaf fell off a plant I was moving, and before I knew it I was taping it down to my pages. :laughtwo: I live by inspiration, though most times I have no idea where it's going.

At this point it's just laminating them down with packing tape. I hadn't considered framing any, but that sure looks tempting. My hallway has shadow boxes of fossils my husband framed, some of which are leaves. :cheesygrinsmiley: It sure would be nice to find a new home for them. They were a shared passion, but one from another time. Not something I'm comfortable giving to the thrift store.

Sorry to be a pain Sue, Mrs. Chro has been giving me evils since I showed her your leaf pressing. She thinks that it's a copyright infringement ;) I think she's looking to sue you SweetSue!!

Wow! :thedoubletake: I was one page back with a post I managed to not get through, turned around and found this happy crowd. :laughtwo:

I considered tossing in something completely dark and rude... just to offset all those warm and fuzzy feelings.
I guess not doing that was my way of saying 'Wow... you made it thru another one... you go girl!'.
Can you say 'dysfunctional'?
