SweetSue's Perpetual 3.0 - The Hempy/HB Hybrid Grow

I did check the sponsored tent, where the Chem Dawg resides. No signs at all of any mites. If I had them, this is where they'd be.

Whew! :laughtwo: I may know how to overcome them, but the thought of having them in the grow again makes me want to take a shower. Lol!

Sue

I completely forgot about giving you the CD clone!

Good thing you checked and warned J.

I do think it is more recent. I notified the Klone King also to make sure he does the double check on his plants just in case.

I have a Jack Herrer and Power Africa at 3 weeks 12/12 and they had only a few leaf affected. If they start to get on my nerves, they'll get pitched.

After I trimmed them up, everything I had on went in the wash immediately and I showered.
I didn't even want to check the SDS until tomorrow so I didn't drag any strays in there.

I had to blow off visiting the GF tonight, I told her my plants had the equivalent of the crabs

I've seen first hand how some of these travel. We had a really bad white fly infestation in my city, and while sitting on a bench I didn't notice one stuck to me, only noticed when I got home and was changing clothes and saw it fly right towards my girls. That one I manage to kill. Now that fall came, lots of leaves fell from the trees and plenty of bugs airborne. Even recognized PM on the dead leaves on my car. I got lucky and harvested my balcony ladies right in time. They were showing signs of both PM and had some small white flies as well. Sometimes the infestations we unknowingly encounter can travel with us home.
As for an effective way of getting rid of them, not sure, the thing I would start with would be making the tent sterile, disinfect it, and for the ladies I gotta be honest and say lately I rely on store bough "bio" insecticides, they worked so far. I am happy with this spray I got this year, made out of plants, has the worse smell ever(like those stink bugs :yikes:) but it hasn't killed my ladies and no mites either so guess it did it's job.

Hope you will win this fight :circle-of-love:

Morning girl. :hugs:

They can be a pain to get rid of. It's the cross-contamination that gets you every time.

My experience taught me how to keep everyone isolated in the event of an infestation. Those tents were never cleaner than when the Borg visited last. Lol! During that time I waited to care for the infected tent before showering for the day. Eech!

What ever you did to that malawi is not good. Good luck helping it recover...

It took some detective work, and the insight of Graytail, but I think Doc and I reached a consensus that this was my glaring error in proper use of the kit. I'd neglected to see to it that she had enough in the soil to carry her through. Transplant drenches build the soil reserves, and when I hit her with the CATs the soil couldn't supply what she was asking for, and she starved.

Maybe that's why I've been fighting tears all day. I'd tried to pin it on everything else, but it's the admission that my neglect did this to her. I realize they're just plants, but they're not just plants, you know.

I've been trying to get the updates up for hours now, and I keep stopping to cry. Haven't been this emotional for months. All over a plant. Talk about a soft heart. :laughtwo:

They trust me to stay ahead of the game so they don't suffer. I swear I'll get this right, if it's the last thing I do. At least now I know, and I can adjust so no other plant has to endure this.

Back in a bit with the pretty pictures. :Namaste:

Hey sue

I just wanted to say a heartfelt hi .

I hope all is well in your garden and world .

Been lurking your journal great group .

Caio for now sue talk soon.

Weekly Update: Clone Cuttings and Veg Shelf - Friday, October 27, 2017

I have a total of 18 plants, counting the seed yet to germinate, and I spent the day focusing on the one that was struggling. Let's take a few moments and celebrate her, and the rest of the garden, brimming with health and vigor.

The cuttings were just open yesterday, and I hesitated to disturb their individual atmospheres just so I could take some pictures. They're both very new to the perlite. I've decided Tead has the right attitude about it. Put them in and stay out of the way for three weeks, then transplant. That casual meandering through life appeals to me. :battingeyelashes:

IMG_484711.JPG

IMG_48386.JPG

No sign of the ATF seed.

IMG_48396.JPG

CBD Critical Cure 2.7 (Day 16) Upcanned three days ago, she's settling in. I've been moving both clones up closer to the light every day. Today I let them sit where they were. We're in no rush.

IMG_484010.JPG

Jamaican 1.1 Also three days in her pot of soil. She has the look of a plant that likes the medium. I have plans for this baby. :cheesygrinsmiley: When she was upcanned she got a TransWater drench, a gentle introduction to what lies ahead for her.

IMG_48417.JPG

You can bet your life I'll do better with her than I did with Malawi.

Carnival 4.5 (Day 52) At the maximum veg dose of nutrients, she's looking at preparing for the impending flip. She got upcanned into a medium pot two days ago. It's been been 26 days since her joining the others in veg, so another two to three weeks and she'll be ready to follow someone into a flowering space. The plan is to drop her in the Spa behind DC 1.1

Be honest, isn't she absolutely beautiful? :battingeyelashes: :green_heart: I don't envision myself tiring of growing this delightful chemovar.

IMG_48426.JPG

I'll be starting her training this week.

IMG_48435.JPG

IMG_484412.JPG

Devil's Carnival 1.2 (Day 35, 22 days in her pot) Since I don't really want to encourage growth at this time, I'm keeping her on the lowest nite levels, 8 ml of each part with 4 ml of Energy per gallon of water. I haven't figured out what I plan for her yet, but by God, she's tempting me to find a space for her. :laughtwo: It can't happen for a while, and I have a cutting growing roots, but I find I haven't been able to cull her. Big surprise coming from a woman who cries over hurting a plant, eh? :laughtwo: What can I say? :battingeyelashes:

On to the Sponsored Tent. :ciao:

Weekly Update: GROWant GR240 Sponsored tent - Friday, October 27, 2017

The entire tent is on the same drench schedule of 12 ml of Part A & B with 4 ml of Energy and that 2 tsp of CaliMagic per gallon of water. They were all potted up initially on the same day, so that makes it 36 days since rooting.

IMG_476116.JPG

IMG_477411.JPG

IMG_477515.JPG

It's filling up in here. :slide: I may be put in the position of eventually moving one of them out to a different space to give the other two more space to bloom. I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

IMG_476211.JPG

Carnival 4.4 (Day 69) I don't know which of them excites me more, this girl or her sister under the quantum boards. I'll be able to do a direct comparison between the lighting choices. This girl will finish up in this tent, her sister under COBs. They're running neck-to-neck at this point.

IMG_476315.JPG

IMG_476418.JPG

IMG_476514.JPG

Chem Dawg (Day 58) You can't keep this girl down. I stop numerous times a day to flatten the canopy, and she laughs at my attempts. :laughtwo: By the time I work my way around the branches the first ones trained have already bounced back. Lol! You gotta love that level of vigor. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_476712.JPG

IMG_476912.JPG

IMG_476816.JPG

The camera couldn't get enough of them today. :laughtwo:

IMG_476912.JPG

Malawi 1.1 (Day 53) This one.....the liner quality of all those delicate leaves shooting in all directions makes my heart go pitter-pat. Lol!

IMG_477012.JPG

Theyre all still getting their feet under them after the transplant the other day. It won't take long. I'm thinking I may let her go wild for a while to see what she wants to do.

IMG_477114.JPG

IMG_477216.JPG

IMG_477317.JPG

Sometime in the next month they'll get flipped. :woohoo: I'm waiting for the Carnival to beef up a bit more.

Next up, the tiny closet. :battingeyelashes:

Weekly Update: The Tiny Closet - Friday, October 27, 2017

IMG_482014.JPG

Malawi (Day 101, flip + 55) My wounded baby. *sigh*. It never gets easy to hurt one, and to be honest, I don't ask that it does. I've learned some valuable lessons that'll benefit her successors.

IMG_482112.JPG

Part of me wants to simply chop her and use her for edibles. That's frustration trying to rule the day, but don't worry. I'm still learning from her. From this experience comes a little more clarity on how the kit works. I'll be certain to have the soil adequately charged when I slip them into flowering from now on. That'll be her loving legacy.

Shes still growing, hard at it, bless her heart.

IMG_482217.JPG

The lower buds are starting to finish up. This region of the plant is unaffected by the damage.

IMG_482311.JPG

I'll get something from her aside from life lessons. Her clone will be my redemption.

IMG_482410.JPG

It's a startling difference moving from one region to the next.

IMG_482511.JPG

Ultra Dawg 1.1 (Day 117, flip + 44) She was scheduled to be flushed again, but I held off. I can feel she still has water in the reservoir, and I'll be harvesting her Sunday morning. She's completely cloudy now.

IMG_48268.JPG

IMG_482714.JPG

Such frostiness!

IMG_482813.JPG

IMG_48299.JPG

IMG_483110.JPG

Her skirt is filled with a scattering of nugs. :yahoo: The daughter has determined that as fun as Thin Mint is for daytime use, it keeps her from falling asleep, so we're hoping this chemovar will be a good bedtime med for her.

Next up, the finish tent. :green_heart:

Love your work sweetsue

Well hello Mateyssmurf. :welcome: to the joyful journal. You've caught me in the middle of an update. Still two sections to go.

I see you're new to the site. Are you finding your way around comfortably? If there's any way we can help you settle in you have only to ask. Are you growing? Planning a journal? There's no better way to get immersed into the community than to let us watch over your shoulder as you bring a Grow to harvest.

I look forward to getting to know you better. Make yourself at home. It's a delightful crew floating through. I have more work to get back to. :ciao:
My initial inclination was to greet you with "Ahoy!" Is the username a nautical theme?

Weekly Update: Finish Tent, Friday, October 27, 2017

At this point in flowering these tents are most comfortable with two plants. This is what motivates me to relocate one from the sponsored tent sitting beside this one.

These girls fill the space up to the max.

IMG_474211.JPG

Aaaaand the dry season decends. I'll pull out the other humidifier.

IMG_474315.JPG

IMG_476012.JPG

CBD Critical Cure 2.6 (Day 81, flip + 17) She graduated into the bloom nutes that include Bulk, 14 ml of Parts A & B, 4 ml of Bulk, and 2 tsp of CaliMagic per gallon of water.

Into her stretch and standing tall and proud. :blunt:

Candy Cane 3.1 (Day 72, flip + 5) just starting into the bloom nute schedule, she get the entry feeding for the first two weeks of 14 ml of Parts A & B, 1 ml of Energy and 2 tsp of CaliMagic per gallon of water.

She's stretching, and yes, I'm a little nervous. :laughtwo: I have plenty of verticle space to play with. I'm mostly confident that I've figured out how to contain her gangly nature.

IMG_474916.JPG

IMG_475011.JPG

An absolutely delightful plant to grow, and such delicate lines.

On to the Spa. :ciao:

Harvest: Thin Mint GSC (Day 105, flip + 59)

IMG_47389.JPG

Her weight directly after being chopped, branches, stem, and all. The stem that was left weighed 18 grams alone.

IMG_47029.JPG

It always surprises me how much lighter they are without the attached roots. This girl was weightier than recent harvests. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_46967.JPG

IMG_471211.JPG

IMG_470914.JPG

I did that spin again to throw off the water. It's a great range of motion movement. :battingeyelashes: I'll need to wash the spots off the window one of these days. Lol!

IMG_471316.JPG

The stickiest my fingers have been trimming a harvest. This girl gifted me with lots and lots of oil. :woohoo:

IMG_471713.JPG

IMG_471812.JPG

IMG_471910.JPG

IMG_472016.JPG

Wonderfully dense buds too.

IMG_472111.JPG

Sugar leaves went into the popcorn and sugar leaf bag in the freezer.

IMG_472515.JPG

This was all the popcorn, and it's being used for omelettes for the next couple days. I just love the sense of wellbeing that comes with eating them.

IMG_472611.JPG

It's notable that this was all of the popcorn. Most of the lower buds developed large enough to be included in the dehydrated batch. There were so many buds that I didn't bother weighing them. Typically I set up the tray and then disassemble it so I can weigh them and then put them back in. Too much trouble to get a best guesstimate. I'll wait patiently for Saturday night to get a final weight. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_473412.JPG

IMG_473511.JPG

Big, dense, weighty, beautiful buds :blunt: Yeah..... I'll admit to being proud of this one Wish I'd taken better photos for the POTM contests. Lol!

IMG_473611.JPG

This was the largest load I've had yet in the dehydrator. The clock is ticking, and the timer goes off at 50 hours, which by my records will be 5 PM Saturday. I'll begin the finish drying with rice and expect to have it jarred up by bedtime that evening.

IMG_473712.JPG

I'm anticipating in excess of two ounces. I'll hold off on the harvest of Ultra Dawg 1.1 until the dehydrator is free. The fridge is already filled with Carn 4.2. Although....... I'm sure I could fit a few more bags into the bottom shelf of the fridge. I think. I'd like this UD to be dried low and slo.

Decided... I'll bag the UD instead of dehydrate. I may still wait until Saturday, possibly longer. She's almost completely cloudy, but I don't see any signs of amber yet.

Thin Mint GSC is certainly one of the most delightful and beautiful chemovars I've grown so far. I highly recommend it. livetoskate tells me it's a wonderfully spacey buzz. I haven't smoked enough to appreciate this. It's too indica for my taste and I was leaving it for my daughter, since she enjoys it so much, but he made that sound so enticing that I'm going to try some as soon as I get this posted and see if I get the same effect he does. :laughtwo: I have some from the previous harvest to explore.

Ud und comes down by Saturday, and Devil's Carnival 1.1 looks like she's going to be ready within a week or so. Both the Jamaican and Dark Slide are beginning to hit the end stage as well. It's a steady lineup of fun ahead. I'm so glad I have all of you to share the joy with. :battingeyelashes:

Ok, now it's time to get a better, more focused taste of the mother. :ciao:

Who is that Thin Mint GSC from Sue?

Blue Dream S1 (Day 86, flip + 13) She's still on the beginning range of blooming nutes, 14 ml of Parts A & B, 1 ml of Energy, and 2 tsp of CaliMagic per gallon of water.

IMG_477712.JPG

Quite the happy camper. :battingeyelashes:

Devil's Carnival 1.1 (Day 92, flip + 36) She's beginning to wean off the bloom nutes, a couple weeks out from harvest. Yesterday she go 14 ml Parts A & B, 4 ml of Bulk, and 2 tsp of CaliMagic per gallon of water.

I thought she she was winding down and I'd be having trouble getting her to day 50, at the very least, but today I noticed she's nursing at the seams, starting to shoot out a new wave of bloom. :yahoo:

IMG_47839.JPG

Everywhere you look there're new pistils opening up. :battingeyelashes:

IMG_478514.JPG

IMG_478615.JPG

IMG_478714.JPG

Look familiar? :cheesygrinsmiley: Her fragrance rules the roost. This is one powerful chemovar. I'm starting to get excited about the approaching harvest.

IMG_47889.JPG

IMG_4789.PNG

The lower regions are filled with buds getting more and more dense.

IMG_479013.JPG

IMG_479114.JPG

Dark Slide (Day 115, flip +46) Yesterday she got the Energy drench that follows the CATs. Now it's a simple toggle of drenches to the end.

IMG_479312.JPG

I'm so proud of this girl. I wanted to make the gypsy proud, and I believe I'm on my way to doing that. :battingeyelashes:

IMG_479411.JPG

I don't know how long she has to go, but I'm guessing in three weeks. Let's see how close I get. :battingeyelashes:

IMG_479512.JPG

Her branches are strung with compact buds that all look like they're rushing to the end. Those brixy leaves make me smile. She's doing a good job of showing off the kit.

IMG_479812.JPG

IMG_479913.JPG

IMG_480010.JPG

The Jamaican (Day 108, flip + 32) She also got an Energy drench yesterday. That puts both of these kit girls on the same schedule from here on out. Let's do what we can to make life easier. :battingeyelashes:

She's filling out nicely, don't you think? She no longer smells of fresh-cut mango. Now she smells like a tropical fruit salad. :slide:

IMG_480312.JPG

Like her HB roommate she has lovely, shiny leaves.

IMG_481510.JPG

IMG_481813.JPG

Did you do well? Good. :hugs:

Whew! Made it under the wire. :laughtwo: That's the end of the nickle tour ladies and gentlemen. It brings me great joy to pull these updates together and share with you, and I hope you found it worth the stop. Your enjoyment of the process means so much to me.

Did is it generate any joy? Find someone and grab a hug. Share that joy and watch it expand. I spent the day on an emotional roller coaster, but that's calmed now because I deliberately chose better thoughts at every turn. Doing these updates was the perfect way to finish up the day.

Thank you for s Friday night. Time to get a good buzz going before midnight. Until later.

:Namaste:

Who is that Thin Mint GSC from Sue?

Are you talking breeder Van? I don't know, to be honest. I recieved the seeds from a member, and he never shared that information, but then I never asked. I'll get to him and report back.

Hey sue

I just wanted to say a heartfelt hi .

I hope all is well in your garden and world .

Been lurking your journal great group .

Caio for now sue talk soon.

Hey Joe, nice to see you wandering the yards. Have a wonderful weekend. :hugs:

Looking nice over here girl...... Congrats on the harvest..... GL and Keepem Green

Thanks Woody. The Malawi will pull through, and all the rest of the girls are enjoying the dance. :cheesygrinsmiley: I have a continuious string of harvesting around here, don't I? Funny, I didn't start out intending to be growing this much. :laughtwo:

Good morning everyone

 Forgot to finish this post.

Good afternoon everyone :laughtwo:

We got to visiting before I finished the post. :battingeyelashes: J and Hash Hound are on their way home and I'm getting back to my drenches. I stopped to wish you all a wonderful day and to encourage you to feel your way to satisfaction as often as you can today. See how that turns out in the end.

It's so delightfully satisfying to be able to have member friends visit. It's not often you're free enough to speak about cannabis cultivation, is it? Blessed I am, and I know it. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Reprieved

IMG_485010.JPG

I stood there and looked at her and decided I was rushing the harvest. I'll keep her going until I see the first amber trichomes appear. Ultra Dawg lives another day. :slide: I put her on the lowest level of bloom nutes for this watering instead of flushing her again. Next watering, in two days, I'll check the trichomes and decide if I want to feed her again or flush her. She'll be harvested after that next flush.

I'm going back to drenching the beauties now. :ciao:

Sometimes you have to be the plant whisperer you are sue and let them talk to ya .

Nothing better than being able to talk shop with members over a bowl or 2 . Doesn't get much better!

Hope your having a wonderful weekend sue!
