Sweetsue's First Grow - Stealthy Trio of Autos Under CFLs

I usually don't have a lot of amber when I chop and im in hydro
some of the strongest smoke ive given to friends were mainly cloudy with about 10% amber
you do what you need to and like doc says its your needs first and the plant will tell you when its ready also
you go girl :thumb:

Thanks for the explanation Doc. I've been reading your Q&A thread long enough that I actually understood it. :laughtwo:

Since I'm doing a no-till there won't be much more organic matter added and the drenches and top dressings will just build up the mineralization more and more over time. At least that's my expectation. Every grow should be better than the last. BlueJay (another site), whose journal was a big part of my inspiration, has pots that are mostly EWC from the booming worm populations in his soil, and what he grows is breathtaking.

It tickles me that you see my future grows much the same way I do. My goal is to demonstrate how easy it can be to grow top-quality cannabis without the stress I see in so many journals. I'm pretty blown away by how it's gone so far. Dale's getting excited about building a decent box. His rehab room has this 2' x 2' x 8' cabinet in the corner and he immediately mentioned that two of those joined together with the side panels removed to create one big space would make a decent grow box. :laughtwo:

First the box, then the lights and ventilation system. One step at a time and eventually we'll be there Doc. :green_heart:

Think if you even went bigger like 15x15. Granted it's harder to control but Damn the sky's the limit with your emerald thumb.

Wow Doc. It just hit me how much easier it becomes when you can lose the obsession to trichomes turning amber and view the entire process as a whole, evaluating each plant from a holistic perspective.

This entire grow experience has been about letting go and accepting the simplicity of raising cannabis. It's been about letting go of many things, hasn't it? How strange and wonderful life can be when you let it.

I've always felt people over complicate it. When they start they cause more harm than good I myself was guilty best thing is to like you said just let go.

Think if you even went bigger like 15x15. Granted it's harder to control but Damn the sky's the limit with your emerald thumb.

What a wonderful dream Dutty. 15x15 would be the size of my bedroom, leaving no room for a bed. :laughtwo:

If they ever smell the coffee here in PA you can be certain I will look for a way to start a cooperative.

I normally harvest all at once but this time i staggered it and then took it on a plant by plant basis, deciding on each one. I think i did quite well as far as potency and high is concerned; i also ended up with quite a lot more product.

Maybe you could harvest just the larger, more mature buds and process them now (get your man sorted out) and leave the rest on for another wee while? they'll certainly enjoy the extra time and you can make some headway with your edibles at the same time.

Is it recommended to do a partial harvest on Autos?

Daily Update: Day 81 (THC Bomb Auto) & Day 80 (Buddha Magnum Auto)

I put the lights up and took some shots today in the glorious morning light. Let me just post them and let you enjoy.

Buddha, in all her glory. It's hard to accept that she's that close. She's still pushing out white pistils guys. Please look closely and give me your feedback.

I'm prepared to take her down tomorrow. She's definitely taking less water (only three cups today, half her normal drink, while the Bomb took 6 cups today), and she's definitely pushing out new tiny leaves on her colas. Just asking for a little reassurance.

Sounds to me, and please don't chop based solely on my recommendation... wait for the giants in this community to chime in, but I think she looks ready... not to mention if she is pushin' out new green leaves it would seem like she i starting to reveg? Doc summed it up pretty well so I am confident with his advice you are pretty good to go on her.

Not to mention, I would be ecstatic to have that lady ready for chop in my closet!! You have raised her perfectly, and she has grown into quite the beautiful young lady :cheesygrinsmiley: :cheesygrinsmiley: Good parenting Sue!!!!! :cheesygrinsmiley:

The Bomb obviously no less beautiful then the Buddha, I personally love the way foxtailing buds look (if that is what is happening) and I bet she will look like an explosion of dank come the end of these last weeks. You will most certainly enjoy her. :cheesygrinsmiley:

:thumb: :Namaste:

Thank you MaxYields. I've cherished every minute with them. I've been studying the pictures and I see evidence of her readiness all over the place. Yep! I do believe tomorrow before sunrise it is.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. The help and support offered here has been invaluable to this novice grower. I've been thinking about the process since last night. So much to prepare and so thrilled to have finally reached the end with one of them.

Tomorrow we dance with Buddha. In two - three weeks we get the first real taste of her harvest. Her breeders promised uncontrollable laughter. Soon we'll see if they were correct.

WooHoo!!! :laughtwo::green_heart:

I don't know about autos (re staggered harvests); i've never grown them but i'd say if the ones on the top are ready but the ones underneath are not, i'm sure they'd still be fine back in the oven for a bit, since the 'auto' aspect is moot now, as we're already flowering anyway (i imagine the auto aspect would concern the vegetation stage, but we're past that now)

enjoy the morning sue,, sure worth getting up early for,, yaay,,

I couldn't find a thread that spoke to the mechanics of harvesting. Here's how I'll be approaching it.

HARVESTING CHECK LIST

- lights out of the way CHECK
- Three 5 gallon buckets (one food grade) washed and dried. CHECK
- baking soda and lemon juice on hand CHECK
- cutting tools CHECK
- drying rack up and ready CHECK
- drip area prepared CHECK
- twine hangers made CHECK
- clothes pins CHECK

THE PLAN
1. Fill the buckets
- first one (food grade plastic) with 5 gallons tepid water, 1 cup baking soda, I cup lemon juice
- second and third, water only (Can these just be tepid or should they be hot to cold?)
2. Cut the plant down by removing individual branches at the stem from the bottom up.
- tie each off with a twine hanger and suspend from dryer
3. Remove fan leaves and trim off leaf tips with no trichomes.
4. Wash branches and hang to dry.
5. Clean up
6. Rearrange the pots to get the Bomb more centralized and gather lights around her.
7. Apply enzyme tea

Pictures to follow tomorrow.

WOOOOOOOT!!!!!!

Hell yeah Sue, I seriously CANNOT wait to wake up tomorrow to read this update.... And based on our locations and my commute times... I think I'll have a fine post to read and drool over on my morning bus/train ride to school!

This grow has been an inspiration.. (Look at me... Talking like it's over :cheesygrinsmiley: ) and I have learned so much about true organic farming that it seems like it is well within my reach... I can promise I will be delving I to the wonderful world your Journal has introduced me too just as soon as I can.

Sleep well Sue, Christmas Morning joy awaits!!!! :cheesygrinsmiley: :cheesygrinsmiley:
