Daily Update: Waiting For Germination - Day 7
Arrrrgh!!! Still nothing breaking the surface. The temptation to dig them out to check is strong, but my desire to let nature take it's course is stronger. When I woke this morning I remembered DrZiggy asking me about ground temperature. I realized that the thermometer may have been reading incorrectly, and sure enough it was giving me an inside reading when I was needing an outside one. When I checked for the correct reading I discovered it was cool in there.
So this means my seeds aren't getting the warm cue to rise and shine sleepyheads! Thinking about it I decided the simplistic approach would be to add another light and keep the curtain closed in the hopes of warming it up a bit more in there. I made that a warm bulb to add a bit more full spectrum.
It is not unheard of that seeds can take over a week to sprout. No need to panic yet. I'll just keep watching and waiting.
I dribbled another 1 1/2 TBS of coconut water at room temp. over each.
While we wait why not have some fun?
Sweetsue's Old School Herb-Powered Buttery Brownies
This is the recipe I developed while my children were small. It kept the family happy through many crises and celebrations. Mmmmmm. I still had all that decarboxylated sugar leaf material from the last journal waiting to be used. I added the bud bits I had cooked for today, deciding that buttery brownies was a better idea than just popping buds.
First, gather ingredients.
Melt 1/4 pound of butter in a saucepan. Butter. Real butter. No cheating.
Turn the fire off and add 1 cup of sugar and 3 HEAPING Tablespoons of cocoa. Mix well.
Vigorously beat in two eggs. Do it quick so they don't begin to cook.
You should already have 3/4 cup of flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp salt sifted together. Dump that in and stir well. Really beat it in there.
I like to beat until I see this nice glossy texture and bubbles forming.
Add the magic ingredient. Before beginning I crumbled everything up nice and fine and pulled out any petioles that were too woody. I tossed them into the worm bin. In the end I had 1/3 cup of cannabis shake. I admit to eating one of the bud bits. Cook's prerogative.
Into a buttered baking dish. My square 8x8 is doing SWICK duty with the aloe vera, so this round one was called to duty.
Yummy cleanup.
Bake at 350 degrees F.....
..... for 30-35 minutes. I usually shoot for 33 minutes.
Mmmmmmmm. I love the crusty pieces around the edge. Mmmmmmmmm.
Cut into 8 portions.
I get a kick out of the obvious herby bits incorporated throughout. These turned out moist and tasty. (I just tasted the crumbs). A single portion should give you hours of relief. I can't try yet because that wouldn't be fair to Dale, now would it?
I'll report back later about the effect.
My apartment smells soooooo good!!!
Have a wonderful day everyone. Spread some joy while you're at it.
