Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL - LED

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

Those brownies look great. The problems I have with making brownies and cookies is I eat enough but expect the buzz to hit me like a bong and it doesn't. Then I eat more and end up waking on the sofa at 4am. :P

...and you are so right about smoking the grown.

Once you go from this:

You never want to go back.

My wife and I became such "pot snobs" back when I started growing. Then having to shut down and smoke the local vizz-bunk-schwag really sucked. Now we have a chop coming in a week or so!

Sending vibes to your beans.

The soil is evenly moist, thanks to this marvelous SWICK system. It's just a case of letting nature lead the way. We're so conditioned to instant gratification. :laughtwo:

yep.

RE. Plastic bags to increase humidity

NO! do not do that with seeds. clones and seeds are not the same. the excess humidity from using plastic for seeds will cause damping off. Do not do this!

Clones need extra humidity because they don't have roots. Seeds have a taproot before you see them break ground.

For heating up the soil, a regular incandescent bulb would be the best, then swap over to cfl's when they break the surface.
In nature the sun heats the soil quite a bit.

A single 60 watt 4"-6" or so over the soil (one for each pot) would be about right (put hand over soil and see how it feels heat wise).
I don't think the sprouts would get hurt with just normal light even if it were for a full day.

Thank you for that idea. I think I have a couple incandescents in the closet. I'm already with Dale but if they aren't up by morning we'll try that. Incandescents are getting hard to find.

Not too late Mono. Never too late. We're having a blast, but the seeds have yet to sprout. Join the fun. Make yourself comfortable. Brownie? :green_heart:

Good stuff :) looking forward to the seeds sprouting. A brownie would be wonderful :):)

Doc you react to plastic covering seeds is a bad thing. I would have to disagree with you.

It's like taking a moist paper towel putting the seed or seed in between it and throwing it in a container putting it in a dark warm spot. Same goes for soil. Of course just keep it on till the seed breaks the soil.

But everyone has their own way/beliefs. That's what makes this site so great. In my opinion there is no right or wrong way just different styles.

Good day Max. Since you asked so sweetly. The guano would be too hot, in my opinion. One can never go wrong with a top dressing of good quality EWC. You're at the perfect point in her life cycle to add a good layer of it, somewhere around 1-2" should probably do it if she's looking healthy and happy. Treat her to a nice comfrey tea in about a month and let it ride from there. Understand I'm speaking mostly from study and instinct here.

If she were mine and I wanted to bring her in without LOS and without bottled nutes I'd
- top dress with EWC now
- in three weeks do a dandelion tea
- three weeks after that a comfrey tea
- let her ride from there

As new to the field as I am I study hard and do my best to understand the subtleties of what I'm attempting to do. I hope I've helped you out some, or at the very least, given you something to think about.

Next time Max, work on the LOS thing. :laughtwo::green_heart:

Oh Sue, somehow I knew you would find a way to look past my chemical related faults and help me out :cheesygrinsmiley: :cheesygrinsmiley:

This info is exactly what I needed. I want to at least finish her veg without and chemical nutrients... that is why I have been feeding them to her at such a low dose and so infrequently. I will definitel go invest in some quality EWC today, as I need to stock up on it for Doc's kit which I get to mix in about a week :cheesygrinsmiley: She has a perfect amount of room in her pot for 2" of it and she is looking EXTREMELY healthy and happy :cheesygrinsmiley:

I will also investigate dandelion and comfrey tea's... I doubt those are ingredients I would be able to find in the grow store I frequent, however I will give it a try before I look elsewhere. May I ask where you source yours from?

Thank you very much for all of this useful information Sue, I definitely trust your judgements and research. I can't wait to see how it works out for me! Don't worry about the LOS thing Sue, I am gearing up for this Summer's grow with Doc's Kit so soon I will be living the organic life :cheesygrinsmiley: :cheesygrinsmiley:

Damn that brownie cake looks so good!

It's 1 PM here and we just ate our slices. It was delicious! Perfectly moist with excellent texture and a slight nutty edge brought about by the cannabis. I'll give it an hour and report back.

I pick it wild. :laughtwo: Mostly fresh shoots but some bigger, dark, dark green as well. The fresh shoots have more goodies in them. I've scouted places in our urban jungle where salt doesn't get tossed in the winter. I never measure, just pick a big bunch, chop them and mash a bit then bubble.

:Namaste: Different strokes for different folks.:peace:

I grew up watching my mother sprout seeds in paper towels. It never was something I was comfortable with, so my first grow I soaked in coconut water until they dropped and planted them right into their home. Took them 5-6 days to pop. This time I'd been thinking about how crazy it is to essentially drown a seed and then expect it to reward that negative action with positive growth.

My Mother Earth persona running amok. :laughtwo:

Part of what I'm trying to learn here is what conditions favor sprouting when you do nothing more than plant in soil. Obviously some environmental control may have hastened the event, but these are seeds - the powerhouses of growth since the beginning of time. I have faith in the overpowering urge to live.

Anytime now.

It's been two and a half hours since ingesting those delicious brownies. Since then we've shared another slice (about half an hour ago). We're sitting in the courtyard, alone but for the incessant drone of the AC system, soaking up some valuable sunshine. Edibles is a different buzz, but baby, we are righteously buzzed. Faces to the sun like worshiping lizards. I heard a little giggle begin to gurgle a few minutes ago and remembered that was one of Buddha Magnum's traits.

The brownies are a keeper. The cannabis adds an interesting texture to a cake mix that makes it more like the richest chewy brownie ever. Overdosing the chocolate always pays off. Large eggs assure the necessary moisture in what might otherwise be too dry from all the plant material. I couldn't have improved on any part of this batch. Very happy with the results.

They have left us with a lovely, mellow sense of calmness as we hide out here in the chill and the sun. No one screaming to be heard in their rooms. A temporary respite from the madness. He needs to go in now, too cool. It's been such a nice reprieve. When I stand up it's going to be a nice rush. I can feel it building already.

Definitely a keeper.

Rapid rooters are what I use as well coco or peat. Seeds pop and are in soil between day 2-5

Careful with getting that soil too warm it can encourage Rot and seed my not sprout. When dropping seed into soil directly results can vary in my experience

Too warm of soil supposedly encourages males
