SweetLeef's Gone Muy Loco! Tijuana EbbnFlow - 4 Autos in Supersoil

Good Morning Sweet ! How was Mexico ? I have some questions maybe you can help me with. The pot we use to get around here maybe twenty or more years ago was from Mexico. My much better half says the pot we bought was leaf not bud, and I don't think so. I thought maybe since you were in Mexico you might have some idea. I mean we use to get good and high on the stuff. I know sounds stupid, just wondering, can't ask the "all American, do good, always looking for Nazis, right wing, NEIGHBORS OF MINE. :thanks:

Good Morning, MsBadger!

Mexico was amazing! It was the best trip I've probably ever been on. We were able to do a bunch of cool things that most gringos wouldn't get to do!

The weed was a very nostalgic experience. It was very poorly manicured(leafy) bud. It tasted and smelled just like the weed did when I was in high school. Monica's parents, who are twice my age said the exact same thing. We definitely got high. The weed wasn't as harsh as we thought it would be. But like all Mexican weed I've encountered, it was a little bit brown, and most importantly, seedy.

SOOO, I may or may not have some genuine Mexican weed seeds and I may or may not be planning on sewing those seeds for my next grow ;)

This is based on my opinion and things I think I know. I could be wrong about some or all of the things I say in the following paragraphs. ;)

Mexican weed has a very bad reputation. The climate, at least in the part of Mexico I was in was perfect for growing and it's like that most of the year. So why would the weed in a place like that....for lack of a better term, suck? Here is why I think Mexican weed has earned it's reputation.

The cultivation of cannabis in Mexico was punished pretty heavily for a long time. A field of weed is easy to spot from a helicopter, and plants get huge outside in sun like that, making them even easier to spot. Often time in places like that the growers will have to cut the plants down early, as soon as they have buds on them in some cases. Which diminishes potency greatly.

The other thing about it, is it's not properly dried/cured. I've heard a couple people say they use kerosene to dry the weed? I don't know if they do, and if so I feel like that would probably diminish the quality some.

SO I am going to find out. I will grow any females I may have until they are ready, and they will get properly dried and cured, and then we'll see. I have a feeling it'll be some decent genetics :)

Thanks for asking MsBadger! Hope all is well with you and the Mr.

I may, or may not, have enjoyed your response to Ms Badger! And I may, or may not, be looking forward to trying out some of that south-of-our-border green goodness if you happen to have seeds... Maybe...

I am also stoked about the twins! Grow fast and big girls!

Great post on Mexico SweetLeef! I grew up down there and I think you are on to it with your reasons for the problems. They pick early and they cure with a fermentation cure (what it was called back then, not sure now) where essentially everything is stacked up and allowed to "cure/dry" in big piles. It kinda ferments in the process creating that unmistakable taste from Mexican weed. Also, many of the seeds are not really ready if the field was cut down early. We used to pick through lots of bad seeds to get good ones.

But, the strains aren't bad. I have grown tons of the stuff and you can get really good quality when grown/harvested properly. Is it GDP? Sadly no. But is it usually a good leggy sativa? Yes.

Glad you are back. Just got back myself from another secret location with no internet last night.

Take care,
Bob ;)

I'm sure they will! Glad you enjoyed the post! Hope you were able to get good and baked yesterday ;)

You and your secret locations. That's pretty cool. While I was in Mexico we went to a "new" cenote. New because the family had discovered it on their land about 30 years ago. It was the most amazing place I've ever been. Snorkeling in a cave underground with crystal clear fresh water 40 meters deep, swimming around stalactites and stalagmites. Incredible. I love Mexico!

Yeah this weed wasn't pulled too early as all the seeds I have are big and dark, look like they are ready to go. Only 4 months to go until I can find out :laughtwo:

Glad you mad it home safely again, Dr. Bob! Hope all is well and you had an enjoyable 420 Easter!

Well, I got my USB microscope today :goof:

It's gonna take some practice before I get good at it, but here are some picks of Lindy Berger from my first go with the micro. I snapped a couple in the tent and most out side and then a few shots of her buds outside of the tent.

This is a tool I really wanna get. Color me green with more than just herb.

Bob ;)

I have been having lots of fun playing with it today ;) I got it around forty on the scamazon. It's not the best but it beats trying to use a loop next to your eye :)

Sick pics! That thing works good!

(I did Cancun, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres tour and the best part was the fresh water dive into the cave)

Thanks Dank! Yeah, those cenotes are something else. Man.

Very cool pictures!! :tokin:

Thanks Sis!

Thanks dude!

Nice scope! Even better buds! :welldone::passitleft:

Thanks Greensmurf! I cant wait to try them!

I am wondering when to start the backbuilding of the buds. Anyone?

Back in the 60's to early 80's for the most part all I could get was leaf but, if you had the money and a good connection you buy a little bud. (very costly) most the time all I could find was Ty stick (spelling)? Good seeing you around MsBadger. Sorry sweetLeef just had to jump in.

SWEEEET, SweetLeef
