re: SweetLeef's Back & Organic

Thanks for the invite Sweetleaf. I always appreciate your great energy. This looks lovely. When you mixed up all that soil in your last journal I thought it looked like expensive stuff and I just assumed you were a real high roller. Well- maybe you are, hehehehe... Most of the ingredients you mentioned are available where I live in natural form- except the - 'neem extract' I think it was...? So I have been plotting on how to refine them into usable form. But under $300- even I can afford that- once in awhile at least.

Hi Sweetleef. I will take a sit around here and watch the show. I will learn for sure; thank you for sharing your experience.

And they are a perfect fit! These are 5 1/2" deep and 12" x 10" wide. The pots fit right in them.
Hopefully that's deep enough Sue? Thanks for the idea that gave me an idea. LOL
Hope you don't mind a pic SweetLeef...

The pins you see on the pot are what I used for LST'ing the plants. They are jewelry making pins that you get by the bag fulls at craft shops. Safety pins work great too, and are very cheap. ;-)

Good call on the pins for training, Canna! I think Magics pot will be large enough that we will need to use a bus tub for the SWICK container :)

:high-five:Great to see you,, thanks for the invite :thumb:

Thanks for coming out Jaga! You are always a wonderful addition to ones journal :)

Welcome Barnacle Bill! This journal should be fun!

Glad to be here for the Fantastic Show  Thanks in advance :)

Sup Catman? Thnks for stopping by brother!

Sorry SweetLeef, am I late? :cheesygrinsmiley:

According to the schedule, you are right on time Sara :)

Hey Boss1

Da boys said you might wanna lil help with trouble makers.

Geez some mooks don't understand normal soil and water.

I gots my bags of wet perlite and am ready to start swinging.

:goof:  :bong:

SweetLeef, Dale did that under our bathroom sink. There's a valve that turns it on/off and a hose that reaches to the balcony. I used the wand from an old $20 Chapin sprayer which gave me on/off control at the plant site.

The SWICK on casters - BRILLIANT!

I've got to figure out a long lever I can attach to the valve so Magic can turn it on or off. Not a lot of strength or dexterity in the hands makes those little valves unturnable

I roll high, but I'm no high roller. The soil does look nice and expensive, but it was VERY cheap all things considered. Neem Cake is the stuff you are talking about. It's a wonder product. You can order it online from a web site that has everything you need. Soil, Build A. I too was able to source everything locally except the neem cake. I also got their cover crop mix and straw. I need to get more straw though. I didn't order nearly enough.

:smokin: just subbin up real quick

Thanks Away! Alway nice to kick it with you.

Hey Roach! I'm happy you found the place. This should be a good journal I feel good about the future in my tents :)

Ok, I got busy and only snapped a few pictures.

A teaser if you will

Yesterday I went to the hardware store, b=got some venal tubing and a couple hose clamps and a hose gun and hooked it all up to the water pump from my hydro grow and now I have a little watering thing. I think I will upgrade to the wand soon though. Save my back a little.

Some of you may recall the 2014 Solo Cup Challenge. In that challenge, I foolishly transplanted a plant into a 1/2" PVC pipe that was about 5' long, or large enough to hold 18 ounces of water, the allowed pot size for the competition. The plant wind up wicked tiny. A single cola that weighed 1.2 grams. I decided to put the plant in the "Doobe Tube" after it had popped in a solo cup. Needless to say moving a seedling from solo cup to 1/2" PVC pipe is quite traumatic for the plant Then it got about a week before it was flipped to flower. This is where I believe I went wrong. That and the 5' of pipe made it very difficult for fresh air to get around in there.

To fix these problems and take my idea to the next level, I drilled holes the entire length of the pipe basically making a 5'x1/2" airpot. I filled it with my new soil and then I dropped a feminized seed into the tube. I believe the available oxygen will make a huge difference, but the real difference will be because this plant will have popped in the tube, and will get a decent amount of time to veg before I flip her. I am thinking the request 2 month veg time before flipping. Or when I see the tap root at the bottom of the tube. Which ever comes first :)

Things are looking pretty good at the moment. I watered everybody tonight. I consider tonight the first watering. They all went into pots about a week ago and of course they got watered then. But, they were under duress what with the defol/transplant they got. So they had no idea what was going on. Now they have had time to chill and everyone seems to be responding well to their new digs, I think this drink is when they will be like. HOLY SHIT THAT'S GOOD!!! That's my guess anyway.

Hope all is well in your tents :)

Catman! Hey buddy, how's it going these days?

Thanks Sis! I'm very proud of the pots. Feels really good to make something like that.

Hi Sara! Got my free light all hung up. I'll post a pic in a little bit :)

JAGA! Hey buddy, how's life across the pond these days?

Hello all,

Last night I fed the girls some wheat berry enzyme tea, and then I gave all of the soon to be flowering girls, a very deep defol. It will probably slow them all down a bit, but I had the open them up and get some air moving around on their inner leaves. My PH has been in the 60's all week with the hotter weather. I have to wait another week or so before I can get a dehumidifier. After the dehumidifier I need to get an induction burner so I can make the meds for Magic. And then I THINK I am good on big purchases for a while :) Looking forward to that for sure

Haven't done much with the veg girls yet. They all look great, about ready to tie up some clones I think. But my first order of cloning business is to take cuts from each of my 8 cooking is the flower tent. Once they are all flowered up, I will know which clones to keep and which I didn't like as much. I still have some of the seeds, but if I save those for later I will.

I'm gonna go run some errands, and once I get home the girls should be up. I'll snap a bunch of picots and we'll have a veggie porn party :)

Sue, could you explain again the new technique you are deploying when it comes to you malted barley grains. I think you don't sprout them anymore? Just grind and sprinkle?

Sorry I missed this SweetLeef. You grind the malted barley grain into a powder and top dress with it. No need to soak or bubble. Water in initially with anything else you would have added to your tea, diluted with water. In my case that would have been reconstituted kelp meal, Ful-Power and Agsil. Repeat every week. Watch your buds dazzle you.

Catman! Hey buddy, how's it going these days?

:blunt:Things are alright my friend. Bagseed Photo experiment was useful in the learning department, but my meds, if the universe sees fit, are coming from a freebie blue cheese. She is getting sugared up ATM :blunt:

Other than that, having higher energy so doing more things. Restoring an old laptop. Being a slave to the high humidity levels. That kind of thing.

:Namaste:

Um...Hello? :hmmmm:

I probably missed the veggie porn party. Story of my life

I'm messing around with the loupe, rubber bands, and shitty cellphone myself tonight.....

:peace:

Sorry guys, I've been all wrapped up in what's going on in the real work what with the disastrous Fast Track legislation being voted on next week. I have been calling Congressmen and Senators try to do my part to stop that from going through. Though it would seem one of my states representatives and 1 of the 2 senators want to shirk their duties and give away their(read our) power to know what's going on and the power to vote on it. Unbelievable.

Anyway, sorry for the political rant. So, I had a timer die on me, and I haven't been able to pick one up yet, so I am running the flower tent manually until I can get that settled. Because of the failure and work, I had to just go a head and flip the plants.

FLOWER TENT
After the deep defol the other day, everyone has really bounced back, even the Burmese :) I am a little nervous about height this round. All my ladies are very tall and because of no lateral space I couldn't really open them up. I think I'll just have to try and super crop where needed and bend it back over the plant I guess :)

Let's take a look shall we?

VEG TENT
Plants in here are look incredible. Getting super big and looking very happy! I am so stoked on these next round plants. The veg girls have basically been left alone since they moved into the new soil and they have all taken off like crazy!!

Tonight I took a cut from each of the 8 GSC, A cut from The Church. A cut from CR+, A cut from Tangamanga, and 3 cut's from Blue Dream.

We've got a tough of PM from the super hight humidity, but I'm running a nice dehumidifier so that should be taken care of in no time :)

Speaking of hight humidity I think I will start using the "grey water" that is produced by the dehumidifier. I looked into it very briefly, and it seems that some pople don't think it's a good idea because the drain bucket might be contaminated, alternately the copper and aluminum might leach into the water. I think many a plant have come across copper and aluminum and been just fine. I also think, that since the moisture is coming from the air in the same room as the plants are in, I feel like they'd be getting that water through their leaves. Seems a decent amount of people practice this method of water conservation.

Alright then, I must go off to be. I hope all is well for you :)

Quite a jungle you have going there SweetLeef. The'll do their best to keep you off the streets and out of trouble. LOL!

Those young vegging plants are taking to their soil solution nicely, I see. Great work you're doing. Good luck on getting another timer. It sure simplifies life, eh?
