:welcome: back, Ginga and:thanks: ! I have tinnitus, too and I didn't know there were special hearing aids for it. I'll be sure to mention it to my doctor when I go for my annual physical on July 6.

:welcome: Welcome to my Beautiful Healing Brain Journal!

Brain/Grow Rehabilitation Behaviour:

This week in occupational therapy we talked about "acceptance" because I am so hard on myself. There are some changes I'm happy to accept, but my comprehension and conversation is sooo frustrating. However, my stutter is half the severity it was a year ago, it's magically been replaced with growing confidence since I mostly talk about gardening now.

When I'm speaking in regular conversation, I am slow and stammer a bit. However, I never stop trying to speak in public in everyday situations that I used to take for granted.

I have learned in OT to speak in shorter sentences and listen twice as much as I speak. Actually I was a pretty good listener before, but now, I hear tones of voice, emotional wavering, and everything is TOO LOUD...lol. I did get special musician ear pieces, but they are only -10db when I need to shut out screaming babies...lol.

Good morning my soul sista .

It's so good to be back on 420 to restart the learning.

If I may offer a bit of non grow advice for my good friend across the pond regarding your sound sensitivity.

I also used the -10db earplugs for many months and they did make being in the world a little easier, however it actually does increase the sound sensitivity.

If you can get to see an audiologist and ask them about hearing aids for tinnitus that put white noise into the ear.

This works by retraining the ears and the brain to not get over stimulated by multiple sound sources and loud noises. The devices are very small now and can barely be seen.

I hope this helps my soul sista and I've been missing you and all the 420 folks that light up my life.

I'm off to try to catch up and I promise to not ditch class any more ..

Love n hugs to you all

Your plants look amazing! Need to get my clones up and running so that I can increase my CBD plants.

Rock that t-shirt girl! :high-five:

Exhilarating! Just to catch up on your journal.
Your girls are impressive.
. . .

Don't worry about the boobs. They give the 420 logo an added appeal. Lol

You are showing so much confidence in your ability in growing.

AND....

The balls you have to cast aside plants for quality. Nice.....

Anyway.....

I walked out to the large pasture the other day. Just to get the horses attention for a snack.
As I was walking through the corral gate. I heard the thunder of hooves behind me.

I stopped at the open gate. Closed my eyes and thought about you.
You say, horses have brought you more confidence. The days of healing with them are positive and rewarding.

I MUST AGREE!

The thunder of hooves engulf me, pass me......I smile........ I wish you a wonderful day.

I open my eyes, turn and close the 8 foot gate.

Than I go and enjoy my adrenalin rush.

How is the new room coming along?

*Hey you can't pay for that kinda advertising...oh wait, you can...hahahahaha

*I thought so, hmmm, live soil vs. live woman. lol growers boobs of the month. lol No shame to my game...lol.

*Thank you to the ends of the Earth tricam.

* Did you know that my hubby and I figured out how many hours I've studied growing since my brain injury? Over 5000 hours from Sept 2015 to June 2017. Wow, no wonder I need ice packs. But it's cool to know statistically, I love that crap. ;)

*tehehe, you said balls. All kidding aside, making key judgement decisions improves our executive functions, and I kinda like making ball-busting moves. Less 4 year old, more 44 year old. Still a kid at heart always.

*That is an amazing sound of horse power...

*Awww shucks tricam. I'm so humbled. They give me power when I feel powerless. Beautiful sentiments tricam.

I MUST AGREE!

*:Namaste:

*Awww, I wish you a horse lovers day. And thank you for encouraging me. Gives me a boost for sure. I must stay focused on the positive.

I open my eyes, turn and close the 8 foot gate.

Than I go and enjoy my adrenalin rush.

*Amazing, I love that blind trust, it's thrilling. Yes, the gate. Gotta make sure we close the gate, then the main gate, than the fence gate to the side.

How is the new room coming along?

* slow but sure, something came up personally, took over my free time. But I'm sure after June 30, I'll get back to it. ;)

Question for everyone? What meds, oils, supplements (ginkgo) creams do you use or recommend to promote brain health and cellular reproduction. I am also researching terpenes if u know of any. Feel free to post your suggestions so I can make a list of available remedies pertaining to brain health. Thank you in advance! .❤️.

Just to show how well kushie Kush is doing, at this size, she wouldn't fit in my flower box, too big. :passitleft:

Thanks HashGirl ..

They are the same hearing aids that amplify sound too, very clever wee things.

Still trying to get the learning going folks, I'm not on here as much just now but I'm still here.

Just a little story today...

Today I dropped my husband at work and I was standing by the door of his work. Somehow this cute puppy darted for the door, escaped the entrance, crossed the sidewalk, RAN across a side street (omg). As soon as I saw the dog headed straight for the street, I engaged pursuit of the cutest puppy and his new found wonderlust in pure fear that a car might hit him.

I too RAN across the street without looking, focused on soccer running skills to gain speed on the dog. He entered a parking lot (under construction with gravel) and I booked it faster. I was able to lunge forward landing on my knee (wearing a skirt) and caught the puppy on the sharp gravel. Then he peed in my clutches, but that's okay, he was safe and that was all that mattered.

I gave him back to the young girl who was so grateful. I brushed the gravel off my knee, nothing like a little slide tackle to bring back the fearless soccer player in me. The family calling out for the puppy, just happened to be the owner of the company my husband is working for p/t. The owner and the young daughter thanked me immensely and they walked off.

I went back to my husband, gave him a kiss goodbye, and introduced myself to the owner inside the business (they didn't know who I was), as the wife of the man they just hired. Just one of those things that could make a good impression for my husband cause you works sooo hard.

After all that, I realized, I didn't feel my brain injury AT ALL. I wasn't dizzy, overheated, anxious, upset, shaken...nothing. I felt all my faculties in place. It was like I had circumvented my brain pain some how. I wanted to record this story because, this was a situation where I made quick decisions that usually paralyze me socially.

But because it was an animal, that was motivation enough to make executive decisions immediately, where I would normally be impaired. There must be a valuable lesson to be learned from this that could be related to retraining the brain. Just a thought or two. Thanks for reading my rambling brain stories...hugs to my 420 family.

To all the animals out there, you promote healing in humans, more than we know. Power to the puppies ;)

The same feeling I get from my plants. The same feeling I get from writing journal posts. Hey SweetSue, your garden is taking shape for sure and I just wanted to jump in that big pile of dirt I saw on the tarp. lol ;)
