lcome to my first grow from seed! Ive grown clones from clinics 5 times, but got burned either by mold(showed up 2 days after i brought them home), pests or just bad phenos. so this time we bit the bullet and got legit beans! But the main reason I wanted to start a thread is to get some tips and pointers because my crops just dont blow me away. The nugs are normally no bigger than 2inches tall and about as wide as my thumb after i dry them(coming off 4' tall plants) and they normally dont smell awesome, except for blue dream I grew one time(mmmmmm). I hang to dry for a few days until they are a mostly dry, then mason jars for about a month. They smoke smooth though. I dont and thats why Im here haha Any feedback would be awesome about my newest adventure!

Heres the Specs: What strain is it? Green House (4)Hamalayan Gold & Royal Queen: (2)Critical, (3)Power Flower,&(1) Fruit Spirit

As for photos I have to wait until I can get to a computer. But the seed are sprouting through the soil, some faster than others. I only have 1 400w running and its about 3 feet above the cups.

Any feedback is appreciated!

Thanks for looking!

Sorry I still havent been able to upload photos, its not supported on moblie and the tether device that gives me internet on my comp thru my phone isnt working for photo uploads(it breaks the connection). Anyone know any way to post photos on here thru their android?

Anyways I had the light 36" from the seedlings and they stretched. We slowly moved the light down and now its about 18" away from them now. I also underwatered them but I hooked them up with some 6pH bottled water and filled their cups to the top with moist soil to 1. Help with the stretching(added sticks for support) and 2. To help with the under watering. Just after 8hrs they have greened up nicely and had a nice growth spurt! :thumb:

Oh and one of my powerflowers seeds stopped germinating after i planted it. Im guessing air got to the root. Owell.

Hey everyone,

The seedlings were about a week old on weds. They have have started their 2nd leaf growth and appear to moving up away from the round seed leaves. They arent as green as I would hope so I gave them their first full plain drink of water. So we will see how they improve over the next couple of days.

Also the powerflower that was behind started growing straight up from the soil and didnt shed or really open the seed shell. Soafter a couple days this morning i went to see how stuck it was and it came off. It looked a little yellow underneath so hopefully it improves.

Im also going to open a new email and photobucket so I can post images because i really want help!

Positive vibes,

Heres some close ups of the lil ladies. I noticed some spots and weird edges but they havent really changed, but the plants have been getting greener so it might just have been from stress?

How do my seedling look? They will be 2 weeks old on weds. Do you think I should start them on Olivas or Seedling doses of Nutrients?

Anyfeedback is WANTED thanks!

I moved them about 3 inches away from the light last night and this morning they are greener! :high-five:

First let me say, looking good man! sure they are a touch stretched but they look happy and thats a heck of a grow space you got there. That being said placing a 400w light 3 inches from your girls will fry them. Your target range should be about 13 inches from the plants. even with a cooled fixture you can have heat issues but you can also bleach them being that close.

Hi ItsChrome! Thanks for stoppin by to leave me some feedback! Gllad you think my crop looks good so far, nice to finally hear some feedback on that.

But let me Clarify. I moved the plants 3 inches FURTHER away so now the tops of the cups are about 25 inches away and the tops of the plants are now about 19 inches aways from the 400w. And the temp at the top of their cups is 75 with the light on and 70 after the light shuts off.

Okay I am caught up and subbing to be here to help you. I had amazing root growth on my girl as I saw the tip of roots poking out of holes in the side of the cup at the bottom that I cut into the cups. I make a 1/4" x 1/4" cut in the bottom of the cup for drainage and make four 3/8"H x 1/4"W (approx) cut outs around the bottom just above the small rim at the bottom. I'll take a picture or two. I let that happen for 2 days and then transplanted to make sure I had a stable root ball. It is a great way to gauge root growth and know when to transplant. When I did the transplant the tap root had just begun to make circle 3/4 of the way around the pot and hung freely when I did the transplant. I believe that is part of your problem with your babies... I do not see holes in the cups to allow air into the bottom which does not allow for additional oxygen to hit the roots. I could be wrong but my method has been working for me.

As far as starting nutes in my grow it is because I am using Promix BX which has minimal nutrients to begin with and I am using a small amount to slowly adjust the girl. Blue Planet Nutrients recommends starting with a dose of 2.5ml/gal of grow, micro, and bloom between week one and two and that is how I am running them. The feed schedule provided by BPN's website slowly increases and I am going to try to push on this girl a little as I did not have issues with my last grow.

Here are the pictures of my party cup... I have yet to clean and sterilize it for a new seed though.

Heres what I used, same soil mix as I used in the cups. The guy at my shop suggested the Azos from a local company, hes had good results and it was cheaper.

Im not sure if it was a coincidence or not but when transplanting the roots seemed to be more in the bottom 1/3 of the cup where it was just coco. One of the power flowers roots was makin a circle around the bottom....

Then this morning I went to get more coco and I got the last Critical Planted, her roots werent bad at all on 3 barely showing on the sides, but I transplanted her anyways. Im not sure why shes growing slower her sister is the leader of the pack! :MoreNutes:

Here they all are as of now

Now for some close ups of the different strains, along with info
Power Flower
"During the 90s, a group of passionate growers from the Netherlands travelled to South Africa to gather genetics which could be added to their library. Using the genetics they collected, this team would give birth to a nearly pure Sativa (12% Indica) made exclusively with those genetics. This Cannabis plant would eventually take over Amsterdam's coffeeshops, mostly still around today, and was known as Power Plant.

Our Power Flower is our attempt to recreate the popular features from one of Amsterdam's most famous weeds. This feminized plant will grow over 1 m tall, up to 1.5 m, indoors, but can stretch to 2 m outside. It prefers a warm environment like California or Italy, however, it can be grown in south of France and Germany, while more northern latitudes are not recommended for this marijuana strain.

Power Plant was the original large-yielding commercial crop and we are proud to say that Power Flower is just as big. Growers can expect anything from 45 g to 65 g per plant, or up to 650 g per square metre under a 600 W light. Grown outdoors, it can yield over 100 g per plant, but will require a lot of sun and food to do so.

With such a high yield in only 8 weeks flowering, combined with a moderately easy grow, Power Flower is easily a top contender for a commercial crop grower. With lots of light, fluffy green nuggets filling up all spacing between internodes, Power Flower is suitable for the sea/screen of green operations. The relatively easy grow also makes it suitable for first-time growers who want as little a challenge as possible.

Power Flower will give smokers a taste of sweet and sour, like lemon and limes, followed by a subtle pine fresh flavour. It's not just taste buds that are refreshed as users can experience a smooth high, with an energetic and active experience. Between its pleasing smoke, moderately easy grow and massive buds, Power Flower is guaranteed to leave you satisfied and yearning for more. "

Critical
"There are always lots of requirements to fill when deciding which strain to grow: strength, yield, flavour, ease of growth, suitability to climate etc. There is one marijuana plant that tries to bring together all these features in a perfect balance in order to produce the ultimate cash crop: large yield, short flowering period, good smoke. Critical is a plant designed for the 'cash-crop' grower who wants the best of both worlds and is guaranteed to fulfil expectations.

Our Critical plant is an Indica dominant genetic which shows in its small size, staying below 1 metre tall. It has short internode spacing, which will eventually fill up with buds, making it the high-yielding specimen it is. Its small height also makes it suitable for those looking to grow in small spaces, for the more discreet growers.

Grown indoors, it will average 50-60 grams per plant and can easily hit 600 grams per square metre under a 600W light. Grown outdoors, it prefers a warmer climate such as in Spain, Italy or California and, given the right conditions, will produce over 100 grams per plant. Due to its relatively short flowering time, it can be grown in more northern latitudes (UK, Netherlands); however, it will not reach its full potential as she would indoors.

No other plant from Royal Queen Seeds will yield as much in 7 weeks as Critical Feminized. This short flowering time makes it suitable for growers with a tight schedule. Commercial growers will be pleased with the results in sea/screen of green operations as it delivers large yields with very little maintenance.

The final key to a good commercial crop is a solid smoke; it wouldn't make sense to have such a high-yielding plant with no power in the puff. Therefore we are glad to say that Critical offers just as much in the stone as it does in the yield. It brings a nice stoned effect which mellows you down into a relaxed vibration."

Himalayan gold(greenhouse website)
"Nepalese x North Indian.Very creative mild high with a balancedand long lasting body feeling.Medicinally effective in pain therapy and appetite stimulating.8 weeks, with a yield up to 850 gr/m2.Long internodes, long branches, best results when developed to full size.
Good for LST.Tall, strong plant, needs support due to the extremely dense buds. Ideal for mountain areas, resists well to cold."

I just realized I forgot to get close up of the Fruit Spirit! :sorry:
heres info tho
"Fruit Spirit is the current result of the never-ending quest for new flavours that send your taste buds dancing with every hit of the joint/bong. This marijuana strain is one of the sweetest skunks we have come across in our time. For the connoisseur smokers who are looking for a new flavour that will never get boring we are proud to present Fruit Spirit Feminized from Royal Queen Seeds.

Although it is a Sativa dominant cannabis plant, Fruit Spirit will not grow over 1 m tall indoors. Outside, it needs a lot of sun like in Italy or Greece and can even handle more tropical locations like Jamaica or Brazil. Outdoors, this Marijuana strain will stretch to 2 m tall and is not suited to colder climates like France and UK.

Fruit Spirit Feminized will yield on average 30-40 g per plant, or about 400 g per square metre under a 600W light. It doesn't stretch much during flowering , so fans of big main colas will be very pleased with the growth of Fruit Spirit. Consisting of tight, frosty buds, it carries an aroma that will have you itching to harvest.

This cannabis strain will require an 8 week flowering period, which is relatively short for a sativa dominant plant. Extra care and consideration should be taken to maximise the flavour of Fruit Spirit after harvesting. As always, our recommendation is to dry your plant for 7 days prior to trimming/clipping. Performing a dry trim will help to maintain this special flavour, which can be easily lost during the drying period.

The smoke from Fruit Spirit is beyond outstanding. Its combination of super sweet taste along with a pleasant head high is guaranteed to make this marijuana plant one of your favourites. The aroma experienced while growing this magnificent specimen is accompanied by an even more exquisite experience when smoked. Truly one of our best-tasting feminized strains, an absolute splendour to smoke with every hit tasting like a mouthful of blueberries. "

So far no one has shown any transplant shock :slide:

So last night I got to talking to the guy at our grow shop, its family owned pretty sweet. We were talking to him about how our room recently got upgraded and how we only have 800w/1200w and he said we need to concentrate the light better. I guess a lot of people are running about 6000watts in a 10x10...We cant afford that right now nor do I want that big of a heat signature lol
So last night after we were done transplanting we started throwing ideas around and this is what we came up with.
We are going to go to lowes and are going to buy 2 8ft sheets of that foam insulator, its super cheap. Then we plan on using it to make a "movable wall" in a "L shape," that way I can just slide it over to get to the plants and the A/C can still do its job. Of course it will be tall enough to just go slightly higher than the hoods. But this way it helps reflect and concentrate the light better. We just dont have the funds for a tent or another hood n ballast. Right now we are just growing our free RoyalQueen seeds and a few of the himalayans we bought for practice and to help us save $$ so we can expand and grow our GDP and Holy Grail OG seeds(we plan on keeping mothers of these).
Anyways feel free to leave comments and feedback!

Quick update

Gave the ladies all their first drink in their new pots yesterday, they seemed to appreciate it. All the ladies in the big pots have directed themselves towards the light and the leaders of the pack are developing new growth. The light is now 22 1/2 inches away from the top of the pot and 18 1/2 inches away from the tops of the plants.

I still see some slight spooning on the new growth so tonight Im going to go get a digital temp/humidity so I can see where things are at. Tonight we will also be getting the insulation sheets like discussed above and some fluros to add during flowering, since we are underwatted.

my temp at the plants is 72 with the light on and 70 with it off. I have a box fan blowing lightly across them. does anyone think the temps are adding to the spooning? :helpsmilie:

Heres some quick pics

The himalayans are already showing that they are going to have HUGE fan leaves, hopefully they live up to their hype and produce some big cola buds! :MoreNutes:We are hoping to start flower next week, if the plants allow, since we are underwatted, that way everyone gets better wattage. If we start flower next week I should be able to harvest before my Birthday Weekend in Vegas! :yahoo: Which probably means the last little power flower runt will probably get tossed, but if it handles the switch ok I may flower it anyways lol :tokin:

Hey Everyone,
Sorry for the lack of updates over the weekend. I had a family member in ICU but they are on the road to recovery now.

Last night we were finally able to make it to get the supplies we needed for the room. But heres some photos on the wall we made to help cancentrate the light better. Oh and we are going to move the light over we just forgot new hooks

We gave them their first nutrients last night and they appear to have liked it. I checked on them this morning, about 12hrs after watering.

Thinking about topping them with the FIM Technique, but I think it will set us back another week for flower. Will I yield that much more or should I just flower them as they are since we arent allowing the plants to grow very large?

Positive Vibes,

Hey everyone,

As of today the plants are 21 days old :happybday: Im hoping to be able to flower them by friday. *fingers crossed* The light is now about 9" above the tallest plant. The smallest plant is about 5" tall and the largest is about 10" tall. Tonight when their light come back on Im going to be giving them a full dose of nutrients, Im hoping that will green them up and get them growing.

Heres some pics.

We want to flower them when they are about 12" tall, that way our plants should only be 2' to 3' ft in size depending on the strain when they are done flowering. Again we are keeping the plants smaller due to the lack of Watts, our old room was much smaller so we will add another light after this crop most likely.

Positive Vibes,
Strickly420 :ganjamon:

Looks good. Glad you are planning on them doubling in size.
