Re: Stoned4daze61's 2011 Outdoor Grow (Veg Indoor)

from comparing these pics to the last ones that you took, they have grown like crazy!!! and shit if i had the money rite now to make a cloner i would already be on it, but rite now im really tight on money, but you can bet your ass when i do got the money i will be makin one, maybe a little one since im not gonna be clonin that much, plus i dont have the room for a cloner rite now, so i'll have to plan alittle more before i do all that..and i wish i lived near you, cause where im at you cant even find a seed, let alone a clone..so i gotta deal with what i have... :tokin:

Re: Stoned4daze61's 2011 Outdoor Grow (Veg Indoor)

Yeah they're growing pretty good. One of my bagseed sativas that is in the ground outside of the greenhouse is putting on some weight. These cloners are great man, mine are 5 gallon buckets so they don't take up as much space as the rubbermaid. I've seen people even use 3.5 gallons or small tupperware. I know, moneys always the problem unfortunately, that's whats keeping me from an all indoor grow. Damn that sucks, clones are too easy to get for me with dispensaries on every corner. That reminds me to be thankful and not take simple shit like that for granted. Looks like you need to sell a harvest and order some dank seeds and build a cloner haha. You'll have the dankest herb in the state :) :goodluck:

Re: Stoned4daze61's 2011 Outdoor Grow (Veg Indoor)

man i dont have anywhere i can get seeds from, i wish i did, shit even if i had one damn seed i would be happy, atleast it wouldn't be this bullshit bagseed i been growin know what i mean, this shit drives me crazy, seein all these people growin all this namebrand highgrade good shit, and i cant get my hands on shit,

Re: Stoned4daze61's 2011 Outdoor Grow (Veg Indoor)

Thanks. I was actually thinking of adding a little more N in a few of the next girls meals since they were looking a little limey. I'm pretty impressed with how their doing considering how my first grow looked compared to this Lol

I'm open to any advice or suggestions from anyone because this site is my source of information and feedback.

Also, I started flushing a bagseed I have in the ground w/ molasses at 1 TBS/Gal

Does anyone have any recommendations on whether I should flush the final week with plain tap water or should I continue to feed the molasses all the way until Chop ?

Peace
Stoned

Re: Stoned4daze61's 2011 Outdoor Grow (Veg Indoor)

i would just flush with plain water, nothin else, plain water the last 2 or 3 grows, that way you get everything out..thats my opinion..

Re: Stoned4daze61's 2011 Outdoor Grow (Veg Indoor)

Update 9/12/11

-Day 31 of flower
-Plants in Veg closet are 36 days out of Aero Cloner

This update has taken quite a while but I have been pretty busy lately. Unfortunately I fractured my heel a few days ago so tending to my girls has been tough lately! I tied down all the plants in the Veg closet to try to get them all at somewhat of an even level for good light penetration and also I like the way the growth is compared to the single main cola. The growth is looking pretty decent, the pistils are starting to make their way out nicely and the platinum OG is filling in very nicely so far !

Any comments or suggestion would be appreciated ! This journal isn't receiving as much feedback as I had imagined, this seems like a very helpful community but I guess I must work my way into it : )

Anyways on to the Bud porn (sorry for any low quality pictures, they were all taken on my cell phone and the sun wanted to be a bitch playing hide & seek during the photo shoot hahaha)

Re: Stoned4daze61's 2011 Outdoor Grow (Veg Indoor)

Everything looks just fantastic. You seem to be doing everything right based on the those pictures. I understand what you mean about feedback being a little light. Its the same with my grow. I see view counts going up, so I know people are looking. I assume its the same with your grow.

Really this is just a note to let you know someones reading :)

Re: Stoned4daze61's 2011 Outdoor Grow (Veg Indoor)

Thanks guys, I think it's come a pretty long way so far compared to the beginning, & especially compared to my first grow which was like 2 or 3 shabby plants ! I'm excited to move onto my next batch already. 1970's I really like your simple method with the cfls using power strips and y sockets, I was originally planning on doing my setup a similar way but I decided to go with the bathroom vanity fixture. I'm probably going to use those cheap $2 extension cords and put 4 bulbs on each one for supplementary light when I can fork out the extra dough.

I read up to date on both your grows and they are both looking great as well !
Suka you might have to rig up another cabinet for your next grow with the way those beasts are eating up space :)

I appreciate both your kind words & i'm jazzed someones reading along :yahoo:

One thing I'm actually concerned about that I'd like to get some feedback on is about pests. I recently chopped a plant early that I had in the ground outside due to pesky caterpillars. I just ran out of Azamax a few weeks ago and I'm wondering what the best way to handle critters like caterpillars and mites would be ? I Haven't found any evidence of caterpillars or mites inside my greenhouse yet, but I'd rather take preventive measures then worry about these little bastards after the fact. I mean I guess my azamax was doing its job, & takes care of caterpillars and mites using a foliar spray or soil drench but that shit is pricy for a tiny little bottle that barely lasts a harvest. I've thought of all kinds of ways to handle them but I find a fault in every solution ! I could simply dump a bag of ladybugs in the greenhouse to prevent a mite infestation but then i'd have to ladybug proof my shed by installing fine mesh screens on my oscillating fan, intake & exhaust fan which would be a PITA not to mention ladybud shit and the casualties that would litter my grow room. They have predatory flies that lay eggs in caterpillar eggs and devour them from inside out but then I run into the same problem as the lady bugs ! Or i was considering hot shot no pest strips, does anybody have any experience with these ? Is the vapor harmful to my plants and does it take care of mites and caterpillars ? I thought of putting stickies around the stem of my plant and rim of the bucket to avoid caterpillars, but don't caterpillar infestations start by moths laying eggs on the plant ? I've even thought of the stupid electronic frequency pest repellents which I HIGHLY doubt work !! Has anybody though of putting the pest lights that attract and kill bugs like the ones in mcdonalds ? Hopefully somebody can help me out in this area or give me other suggestions I did not list

Thanks Everybody,
Stoned

Those bathroom vanity fixtures are not easy to find with the round bulbs going away. I thought about this also after seeing your grow put together. I just couldn't fine one. I am probably going to move to a second cabinet. If I can find one, and the clearance to socket tip is less than a power strip, I will use one. I am limited to 42 inches in my cabinets so I always looking to maximize vertical grow space. I also really like the spacing between bulb sockets on the vanity fixtures.

This is also a concern of mine that I am researching. I have a few fruit flys in the cabinet buzzing arround. So far thats all and they seem to be more interested in the soild than the plants. I have never seen more than 2 at the same time so I think I will live with them for now.

Re: Stoned4daze61's 2011 Outdoor Grow (Veg Indoor)

i cant wait till mines startin lookin frosty like that, just started usin the SSU too!!! hopefully i'll start seein some results here soon!!! I should call mines the "I cant wait grow" lol, thats all i seem to say.. :)

Never had a caterpillar problem, sorry. Plants are looking good. I'm following along w/ you.

1970's if you live around a home depot they sell vanity fixtures pretty cheap. $10 for a 4 bulb, I paid $20 I believe for my 6-bulb. I'm actually using 2 y splitters per socket on my large one, so i'm running 17 bulbs on my one fixture (A little risky cause it's close to the maximum wattage per socket but it's been working great like that for about 2 months so far and I don't have the money to build a 3rd fixture ATM .

Also, are you positive they are fruit flies? My last grow I used some miracle grow organic choice soil and it was infested with fungas gnats !! I was fighting them all grow, but they are hardy little creatures. I talked to some other growers about them and they said that some soils that aren't taken care of, such as Miracle grow at home depot that sits outside for who knows how long and they become infested with these gnats ! The problem is that the adults flies you see don't harm the plant, but they lay eggs in the soil. Once the larvae hatch they feed on your roots until they make their way to the surface and the process repeats. So you have to make sure you kill all the larvae and eggs in the soil or they will just keep coming back !

Suka I'm sure they will be covered in sugar in no time :)
They are making progress very quickly :thumb:
Let me know how that SSU performs as well

OG13 :welcome: Unfortunately these stupid Catty's seem to have more of a passion for cannabis then I do, little bastards can't even wait until their finished :hmmmm:

Anyways thanks for the Good vibes, I'm always hoping to receive as much feedback from the community as possible

Re: Stoned4daze61's 2011 Outdoor Grow (Veg Indoor)

Will do Stoned!!! on another note though, im also fighting these little red inch worm type things, damn things inch around mealin on stuff, i pick'em off with tweezers... Im gettin ready to spray them with Rose/neem oil stuff, hopefully that takes care of them, they are really small and hard to see, you really gotta sit there and look for them, but hopefully this spray does the job, last grow i used it, i didn't dilute the spray and it wilted my plants for a couple days, but it killed everything that came in the cab for the whole grow, i didn't have to spray anymore after that one time, so im gonna dilute it this time and pray that it does the same..

Re: Stoned4daze61's 2011 Outdoor Grow (Veg Indoor)

Damn, sorry to hear that. I hate Caterpillars with a passion, just chopped an outdoor plant about a week ago from those bastards. Mine were little green ones and a few larger brown ones ! Anyways I might have to try some of that neem out, but i'm always kinda iffy about spraying buds. Once buds form I feel more comfortable using a soil drench so I don't harm the nugs, but Azamax is pricey as hell.

Good luck again, hopefully you don't send them buggers my way hahaha

Re: Stoned4daze61's 2011 Outdoor Grow (Veg Indoor)

yea these ones are little little tiny red ones, and their hard to see, and im not really worried about sprayin them with this stuff, plus im gonna dilute cause its strong as hell, the name of its called Rose, it supposedly had been around for a long time, like i said last time i used it, i only used it once and it killed everything that touched the plants for the rest of the grow, so i already know for a fact that it works good, and im sure i've smoked worst stuff thats been sprayed on buds, so i doubt this stuff will be any harm, but its spray the plants and get it on the buds and kill the damn things or dont spray and dont and dont have no buds at all due to them eatin'em up...:yummy:
