Stocking Up For The Apocalypse: Goody's Perpetual Grow By The Beach 2020

That’s why it’s good to know where source material originates. Who wrote it and who paid them to and why.

Well. It does say journalist under your name now you are staff. Please lead by example? You can help to lift our collective game I’m sure.

:thanks:
It's in an article by By Anthony Franciosi, on this website- honestmarijuana .com/cbg, and is mostly information rather than promotion of any product. They are growers in CO, but this article isn't pushing any particular items.

If anyone actually wants to buy CBG, our great sponsor @Oregon Hemp Flower has great deals but alas, not much of an explanation as to why we would even use it.
I'm hoping to touch on that for the few people that are actually interested in CBG and its medicinal qualities.

The Purple Lemonade got big enough to move elsewhere, and here are the rest of your 2021 (future) outdoor autos.

Minus the Bruce Banner and one of the GSCs that will remain in this tent for greatness ;)

Going outside will be: BlueBerry auto, Babushka Black auto, and Dr. Seedsm@n (last one, I promise)

No water since Sunday and looking ripe.

It’s been a month since the pollination, which went better than I thought. Better meaning I got seeds, but didn’t ruin the plant to do it.
This baby looks potent as ever, and I can even say I let this one go an extra 2 weeks tomorrow when it’s 84 days old. That’s 14 days longer than the last WC. Hopefully that’s good for the seeds and good for the smoke.
She’s a stinker, that’s for sure.
Chop Chop tomorrow morning!

All lookin good from here Goody :passitleft: I'm curious about your thoughts on how much seed will show up and how much do you think the potency and taste is affected.

Thanks TC, that’s a concern of mine as well.
One good thing- I took the pollen as early as possible, trying to avoid a catastrophe with millions of airborne spores. And I’m not sure I got as many seeds as I originally thought. I figured hundreds, but so far I can maybe count 30-40 (I won’t know til I really go digging) so maybe it wasn’t as drastic as I thought. I only really hit a few branches hard and the rest should be fairly close to normal I’d think. It LOOKS potent ;)
Also, hoping letting the plant finish an extra 2 weeks is going to give me some extra heaviness to the smoke. The trichomes are a lovely mature milky/amber mix. I tried a tiny piece of (sort of dry) tester WC last night, and the flavor is definitely still there.
I knew seeding this may very well ruin it, and that was a chance I was willing to take for the genetic continuation of this strain. I’m happy there’s any smokeable bud!

Good to hear that you got some fine branches. If you can use these seeds to bx or some other stable crosses it would be a huge plus for sure. The extra time should help with the potency of good lookin branches. I also like some amber because otherwise it feels too subtle :passitleft:

We had a male plant in our last grow. My rookie pal was able to spot the pollen sacks very early and removed it on before the sacks opened. There might be some open sacks but we had less than 10 seeds from +20 plants.

I also had an accidental seed in my last grow. Seed came from a Purple Punch nug. but I am not sure where the pollen came from. It can either be PP or Pink Kush. I planted that seed and so far it is looking amazing. Has a fine structure and grow pattern. I'l cross this with PP and PK separately and I hope I can get some heavy indica genetics in the end.

Thinned out the herd a bit and moved things around. Now there is plenty of room for these 4 to get started. They will end up being all my best auto smoke for this fall.

A quick update on the GBG auto I recently harvested: Though it smells and looks a lot like regular weed, this stuff is pretty strange to smoke. First off, not gonna lie- it tastes horrible. I can’t even describe it- a plethora of strange flavors, none very pleasant. Very earthy. Very.
This will mainly end up being in my infused oil later to go with the CBD food/lotions. It’s definitely not a pleasure to smoke, but I have no doubt the CBG will be a great additive to my medicine.

The Wedding Cake on the other hand- one week off the plant and it already tasted like candy. Some things never change…

Found the first random seed in the Wedding Cake, it just fell out. Looks mature and it’s hard as a rock…this is the first mature one I’ve seen so it’s a little bit exciting.
@StoneOtter I figured you might want to see this ;)

There aren’t as many seeds as I thought I might have caused, at one point I thought the whole plant might have gotten dusted. But it’s good to see randoms fall out so I know there are some (probably) viable seeds after drying.

Why yes I do sir! Nice seed you made there! So it's Wedding cake female x ?

Yessir, these are a Wedding Cake Auto x GSC Auto BX1 cross.

Finding more of them now as I shake the bag a little harder. Some empty hulls and softies too, but these 5 are good to go.

They're beauties! It's going to be fun to check them out!
Thank you, I’m excited to grow them!
The main branches I pollinated just finally got cut yesterday. I gave them an extra week to finish (92 days total), and just in case no others showed up. So these are kind of bonus early seeds, and I expect to find them here and there as I smoke the WC.
The cluster of them looks to have a few dozen at least, we will know by next weekend when it’s dry.
I’m just happy it wasn’t a failure in either direction- no seeds would SUCK, and WAY too many seeds would have been a bummer because the smoke would all be ruined. I’m totally smiling about my experience here.

These ladies are taking hold of life and running with it. Always good to see them get past the “what if” stage and take hold. These are gonna be some real beauties this summer

Time to fill the drawers with some potent indicas.

I took a few of the early seeds from my pollination project and dropped them for shits and giggles.
I’m not normally a seed breeder so I don’t know if there’s some rhyme or reason to letting them sit after harvest. I’ve heard 2 weeks, I’ve heard a month. I’ve heard lots of old bros tales on methods. Can anyone answer that question for me? Do they need to sit and cure or mature or anything?
The reason I ask (and @StoneOtter you probably want to see this) is because some have already popped up after about 36 hours in the dirt. After a regular 24 hour float where they all sank overnight, one already had a tail coming out. They were eager to go, so I’ll let them.
The way I figure it, I’ve got 2 of 3 steps crossed off my list-
Step 1. Pollinate successfully
Step 2. See if the seeds even grow

Step 3 would be seeing them grow to maturity without herm problems or other issues, I suppose.

But fellow growers, for now I’d like to introduce you to (shorter name pending) -Barney’s Farm Wedding Cake auto X Weedseedsexpress Girl Scout Cookies auto BX1, joining us for the first time ever.

You have the hat trick in sight Justin! With those parents genetics, it's highly likely!:bravo:
