Stinky Snid's Nursery & Flower Shop - Welcome To My Perpetual Adventure

Hey snid my gs1000 came today! You are right small footprint. My question is do I turn on just the bloom switch or both?

I asked him the same question when I was starting and he answered with the full spectrum like pennywise and cannoisseuras suggested. So both switches on.

I was wondering what plant training you did on those. Was it only LST or did you top as well? I jumped in mid journal sorry! I saw huge colas and just had to see harvest. I love plant training this is a 4.5 weeks old white widow

Allo Stinky :thumb:

Ye a rare visit from the notorious fuzzy well i'm not to sure about that, but indeed rare !

So some where along the lines i was checking ya grow journal out & noticed Blue Lab Soil PH Probe which got me rather interested !

That was some 80 odd pages back, i've not had time to flick through all the journal just yet to view data etc but i checked out the last several pages with little reference to PH tests during the grow ?

OK a little experiment ah... perhaps to see the change of soil PH before watering with nutrients & after or just watering to 24 hours later to see if the PH buffers back to ambient PH levels of the soil used etc ?

So what did you find out Stinky any conclusions or thoughts on the matter...

Mmm ye done some thing like that awhile ago a 2nd opinion will go a long way if we're on the right tracks ?
Back when I had a a good job I went with only the best. Now I'm rarely using them and just maintaining them so they don't break down and become obsolete. I trust my pH perfect Advanced Nutrients to regulate my solution. Also if I don't use the g/m/b I know how much Ph down I need from practical experience. I used to check soil Ph and record it daily to create charts and graphs of the medias behaviour. I also tracked my solution Ph very closely and adjusted accordingly, to keep the media from going to high or to low depending on what it was currently reading. I love my bluelab pens, they're obviously not necessary for the hobby grower and a cheaper alternative is going to do the same thing. "you go cheap, you grow cheap" was my credo when I started up. Now that's changed slightly due to economic conditions.

Hey snid my gs1000 came today! You are right small footprint. My question is do I turn on just the bloom switch or both?
It's very narrow due to those insane reflector lenses the use. You can keep that light a decent distance away with good lux levels compared to some leds. But if your space is much wider than the light then you'll need something to supplement coverage. It's a great light, my only warning is that it runs hot and requires me to exhaust alot of heat. Full spectrum brother. I used veg. only, for seedlings when I needed to due bugs in my propagation cabinet.

Always fuller spectrum
I asked him the same question when I was starting and he answered with the full spectrum like pennywise and cannoisseuras suggested. So both switches on.
Both on brother
:thumb:and the consensus is... Full spectrum! :thumb:

:thankyou:Thanks guys, I can't believe it's been 5 days since I've been able to catch up. Between work and the ask us thread I've been so busy, and also harvesting two more widows somewhere I between all that. :Namaste:

I'll see if I can finish this update before work. If not it may come in the wee hours of night. Stay tuned:ciao:

:cheertwo: February 12th Update

An update on the sowing process. So far I've got all 3 Trans Siberian seeds to "poop" their taproots and have been sown in their red pots. One Diesel Berry has also been sown in its green pot. One DB looks to be a dud, but I'll wait another day or two to make sure. The Blackjack is so far the heartiest and was planted in the appropriate black pot. I've not decided wether I'll put them in the tent or have them under cfls first. Bugs are at a minimum currently (winter) so I may boot my propagation cabinet up again. We'll find out by next update

I'm in love. What strain is she? How tall? I did a Trans Siberian A couple of grows ago. Sure pics are in my gallery but still can't figure out how to get the link to work. From what I remember was a rather good smoke. Lots of trichs. I was infected with a ransom ware virus last summer so lost everything.

Good growing.

:cheertwo: February 19th Update :cheertwo:

Harvest note for Ruby. Total dry amount jarred 54g de-stemmed. And for amethyst here she is hanging in the drying box.

An update on the sowing process. The third trans Siberian failed to break the soil, In fact she broke her taproot in half trying. I hurriedly replanted and soaked the media in an attempt to keep her alive. She seems to have straightened out and is clearly growing her leaves. One failed diesel Berry is being replaced with another trans Siberian. 5 out of 6 ain't bad... I've had much worse ratios. They're under t5s and the runt is under a desk lamp cfl.

Anyway Emerald is still standing and will get chopped asap. Amethyst hadn't been flushed but was getting water only and was going super dry a few times so I hope flavour isn't horrible. It smells great and stunk up the house for a while. (until I cooked some bacon:))

Rey has been doing very well in catching up to her sister and cousin. She's becoming taller than Leia and is rivalling Haze-L for canopy level superiority. Buds are staring to plump up some, but lots of filling in is to come. Aroma is getting quite noticeable according to my significant other, I can't smell anything myself since ice caught a sniffling cold. She's on her 3 dose of full bloom nutes, not letting up yet. :thumb:

She and the rest of the current auto run are all white Widow from AMS. Thanks for the heads up on the trans Siberian, I am really looking forward to their maturity.

54g not bad at all. .
:high-five: That's about what they've all put out. I've got close to 8oz of this Widow bud In the stash now. With one more to go as soon as I can get around to it.

*Atomic is the bomb! If you don't mind I suggest if you could put a black backdrop, we may see more detail in your training?

*May the Kush be with you...lol ;)

Great harvest on Ruby! Did you notice any different phenotypes on your WW? I felt like my 2 WWs were very different from each other in size and smell. One of them was extremely stinky when it was flowering and the whole house reeked. The other plant grew twice as tall and had a more subtle fragrance. I don't have a filter - I need to get one!

I hope their ninja skills are well adept to my Jedi training. I'm eager to get the training started, it's going to be a fun auto run I think. Marge is just about done, harvest is imminent. I've looked for a better backdrop but can't find anything, I need like a black felt from the crafts store.

I hope my next autos turn out half as nice as Snids.
They will be, there's no doubt. Kind of you to say that, :Namaste:

I has two distinct phenotypes and possibly a third but it may have been to the environmental issues. One was Stinky like weed and one was more lemony like I expected. Size was relatively even for all 5, weight after harvest aswell.... So far. Cont'd,

Your plants are so gorgeous and frosty! I'm inspired to improve by what you are showing us here!
My hopes is that you improve with every attempt. It's a great time learning with friends and growing great buds.. With every question and grow you try you'll make yourself proud of the outcome and what you've accomplished.

Update incoming... :Namaste:

:cheertwo: February 22nd Update :cheertwo:

Harvest note for Amethyst and Emerald. They're both hanging in Rh 50-60%, Amethyst is almost ready for jars. Her early harvest doesn't seem to have taken much away from her. Ambers were only 15% amber on top so I expect a morning wake up buzz from this batch. Emerald on the other hand was heavily ambered since I had harvested the wrong plant and let her go an extra few days. Here they are both in the cabinet, Amethyst up front...

All the seedlings including the replacement one are doing exceptional. Still not watering them, I gave them a a half cup around but away from the sprout on day one. But I've mounded some media around the Stems and misted them for solidity. They've been placed them in the freshly cleaned and sanitized auto tent under the Gs600 with full spectrum on. I'm hoping for a much better start to this grow than the what the widows went through.

My Ole Margy girl is awaiting her harvest. Flushed her on Monday and again today. She dries out fast so it'll be a week ending harvest date. Super frosty is an understatement, she's glimmering in the light. These are her final photo shots, I think she's been a amazing plant to grow. What an adventure! Thanks oldschool for making this challenge, I glad she is finally done though... Quite the life this gal has had. I really hate to see Ol' Marge finish. Ive learned a lot from this grow so thanks Snid.
I regretting her demise aswell. I think I've decided that I'll be sowing a couple atomic bombs for the next run. Lisa and Maggie  That should smooth thing out with the withdrawal symptoms of her amazing bud shots. Glad to have had you along for the corkscrew adventure.
