In 1978 while in college I grew a hand full of plants, I lived in the country on a sand hill covered with Live Oaks.
A friend had given me two seeds that he found in some pot he smoked.
Here is his story, he had a cousin who worked for the government in Afghanistan, he brought back a few oz of pot and gave my buddy some.

Here is my story. I planted the two seeds about 5 feet apart and in another clearing I just strue a shit load of Columbian that was plentiful in the area at the time. One of the Afghan was a male and got chopped, the other began to really grow heavy, tall and thick. I began topping everywhere and ended up with a big bush about 6' tall and over 7 feet tall. I ended up chopping all the Columbian as it had so many plants showing male that I did not want to take a chance getting this one pregnant. LOL I lived over a quarter of a mile from the highway and when I pull onto my dirt road you could smell it, like a skunk had moved through the area, not really spraying but was still in the area.

The plant went in the ground in May and was harvested in late September. Over two pounds of dankest stinkiest tight golden buds. In the late 90's I was at a business conference where a number of my classmates attended and we had a dinner at one of their houses. We were doing some very good coke and someone said to the crowd to tell what their favorite drug was. It went around, speed, coke and the such. It got to my bud Tim and he said Gary Green and everyone there started talking about how good that pot was.. I have been growing for many years since and have never grow or smoked anything quite like that. It was truly amazing. I have a couple of leaves of it in a dictionary. Need to find me a Botanist. :rollit:
